Can you guys do this on your own site? Reddit is terrible and I don't want to reactivate/renew/remember my login there. Thanks.

For those who don't know how a AmA work here's a short description of how they work on terms of what you guys get to do. (This is from my POV)

1. Sign in/up for Reddit and go to the link they will provide. I recommend signing up before the AmA goes live so you can get used to Reddits lay out. It can get a bit confusing.

2. Realize that Squad doesn't have to answer your question or even acknowledge its exsistance.

3. Think of your question before hand and have it structurally sound and to the point.

Example of something that is cool to ask and will possibly get answered. "Are Propellers or Boat Hulls ever thought of being planned?" (Just realize that such a question could be answered with. "There's a mod for that."

Examples of something not cool to ask. Anything from these lists. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/36863-What-not-to-suggest http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/44952-Already-Suggested-List

"Hey I have this idea I was thinking of. It would be cool to see a rocket thingy that goes slowly and glows a lot and uses a special fuel but is better than the Ion and Nerva engines."

4. With the shear amount of people that will more than likely attend this AmA, Repeats of questions will be present. It is recommended to Ctrl F (AKA Find command) your question before you post it to avoid cluttering the board with the same thing.

5. Linking additional info is fine just don't expect them to read the entire article. Taking snippets out for your question and just linking the article as a source in your main post is preferred.

6. If someone that is not squad asks for clarification on what you mean. You should do so. If it is confusing to others it could be confusing to Squad. Confusing questions tend to get over looked a lot.

That's all I got. Hope Y'all enjoy the AmA!

I second this. I hate it whenever a company decides to release some information or hold some form of community interaction exclusively there. It's not out of some sort of hate against reddit*, but I think that all important stuff about a game should be on the official site and forum. I don't want to hunt around between twitter, facebook, reddit, a dozen gaming news sites etc. to get to the good stuff.

*Though I find reddit to be one of the websites most awkwardly laid out and difficult to read and browse, along with facebook. I guess it's me as others love it, but I always have a hard time to find the important stuff and official posts over there.

I agree. This should just be done right here on these forums. Reddit, Facebook is such a hugely bothersome mess i stay away from them no matter what.

"If/when feature X would make it into the game" questions are off the table probably, right? So I don't think there's gonna be anything interesting to ask them about. SQUAD stopped talking about their plans for more than one update away (and even this is a big IF), don't have any public roadmap and anything. What is there to ask?

In the mean time I keep dreaming of extensive VAB/SPH/in-flight spacecraft information panels. It's 0.22 already, guys, c'mon! There's docking, rovers, science, and still no delta-v/twr/burn time/orbital parameters info windows. This is my part of Ask What Your Players Think here.

I find AMAs far more interesting after the fact, because I don't have to worry about finding the new content in a massive reddit thread where nothing is sorted or obvious. I suggest you ask a question or two, watch only those questions, and then after they stop the AMA officially go back and read everybody else's questions. It'll keep you from participating in those questions but it saves about 99% of the frustration many (well, at least I) have with the site.

Someone please ask when are you going to have a 64 bit Windows client that works as we are sick of crashing to the desktop with to many mods and not enough ram I am in Australia and it will be 4am in the morning

I believe that is in the "What not to suggest" thread

You see, that's the problem right there. SQUAD distanced themselves from the player base and resorted to one-way conversations. The ones that doesn't say anything much except what's MAY happen in next month or two. And now they're doing AMA. Looks silly to me.

An exchange where the same question is asked repeatedly can hardly be called a "conversation". You will discover this when you are a father to little children! (As in "DaddyDaddyDaddyDaddyDaddy ...." :D )

The 64-bit compatibility issue has been raised repeatedly. The situation hasn't changed. 64-bit compatibility is out of Squad's hands. KSP is based on the Unity 3D engine. Unity Inc. (who make Unity 3D) have yet to debug the 64-bit Windows and OSX versions of Unity 3D - and until they do then they are quite unsuitable for KSP.

Hopefully this situation will improve before too long!

Then of course people will flock to the, 'Then squad should use a different engine'. My personal favorite. So you are saying that you would rather take a slightly laggy game with regular updates (every 2-3 months) that is mostly stable, has a strong mod community, and throw it all out the window. Make all the modders work on top of Squads current work totally useless, and have the next update be 2-3 years do to the fact that pretty much everything would need to be coded and unit tested and debugged. Oh and everyone would have to buy the game again and the cost is now 50-60 dollars because the cost of the new license is so astronomically high it eats up any and resources the team currently has. All the while alienating the modders who now need to pay out to get the API for the new engine so their mods work...Yes this sounds like a fabulous idea.

In conclusion *bows to softweir* The description of the children was poignant and perfect. Thank you sir. :)

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
