Hidden Potatoroids (and how to unlock)
Clockwork13 replied to Clockwork13's topic in KSP1 Discussion
That's what I did. I put it in the tech node "actuators" so I could mess around with it in career mode. -
Happens to me too.

Not sure if this is a late discovery, but recently I found out how to add in a hidden part into your game! First go to your GameData folder and go to the NASAmission folder. Go to parts Click on the "PotatoRoid" folder Click on the part config Choose the tech node and category you want the potatoroid to be in! Have fun with your homemade asteroids! Be careful because if something goes wrong your ships are gonna dissapear. Make backups!

A lot of asteroids impact Kerbin compared to the amount come by Kerbin. Even if an asteroid isn't supposed to impact my stuff, I still feel nervous when asteroids are about to crash onto the surface or come really close.
-
Just no asteroids bigger than 5x5x5 meters please. I don't want a crater on my lawn like last time you tried landing an asteroid on it.
-
I couldn't agree more. I am not too excited about the ARM pack either. Now we will have to deal with asteroids crashing into our space stations and other stuff that we don't want to happen. There should atleast be something in the configs that lets you disable asteroids from spawning. On the other hand, we get practically 3 science from going through the trouble of getting onto asteroids and doing whatever to them. Also, asteroids spawn to frequently, after 5 minutes, I already have like 40 asteroids, around 35 or so coming into Kerbin's SOI, and about 5 of those are on a collision course. Just after 5 minutes.

Well, you can get that much from EVERY ASTEROID that you land on if I remember correctly, so it's a lot actually.

Hehe I learned about using - and + to zoom about while I was looking for RCS controls on the wiki... -

Sorry to burst your bubble but... That is pretty old news. -
Is there a way to revert back to 23.0?
Clockwork13 replied to Clockwork13's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
KSP was closed out completely. -
As of now, I am not the most happy person about the outcome of the ARM pack, the general features are really cool, but it's the bugs that make my ARM experience turn from joy into frustration. For example, it's impossible for me to get an encounter with an asteroid because the target retrograde is broken. I burn retrograde to slow down relative to the asteroid. But yet I see the asteroid zip by me and I realize I just set up a direct crash course onto Kerbin. So, is there a way to revert back to 23.0? It's literally impossible to get around this asteroid that i found zipping really close to Kerbin, only 78 km up. Then I try to actually get to it and I crash into Kerbin. Also, the music is now played by the computer, not just the program, so I have to listen to KSP music when I am doing something else on the computer.

I picked 10/10, but if I could repick, I would pick 3/10. They have pretty much spoiled every feature and now all we have left to do is wait until we can use them. Plus, they started the hype way to early.

Push his Moho lander into the Moholes. Land a Duna Lander on his Duna Lander. Undock all the modules of the station. -
Is that even possible? .-. It's hard enough leaving Eve from it's highest mountain by using a ship with rockomax engines spammed all over it...

Jool to Tylo to Kerbol, and back home
Clockwork13 replied to Clockwork13's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
I forgot to take pictures of it though while I was doing it... I may be able to recreate what it looked like though. -
This is a sort of 3-in-1 idea thread. First things first. Comets. Comets have extremely elliptical orbits that stretch very, very far out and get extremely close to the Sun. Comets have an 80% chance of getting entirely vaporized by the Sun. It is possible to prevent comets from being vaporized by the Sun. Comets are usually as big as the biggest type of asteroids in the ARM pack, but it's a real challenge to move them to prevent them being vaporized. A comets periapsis is usually around 800,000 meters, and to prevent being vaporized, you need it's periapsis to be above 1,000,000 meters. The second idea is asteroids hitting other bodies. I'd like to see it if asteroids even bothered other bodies like they will to Kerbin. The last idea is different class asteroids. There are 3 different types of asteroids. Ice, organic and rock. Rock can be of any size from 5 meters to 15 meters. Rock asteroids are very heavy. Organic asteroids are both gray and brownish. They are fairly light and are usually pretty small. Ice asteroids are very light and are a white color like ice. Ice asteroids are usually the size of rock asteroids.

Actually, using an RCS to get into orbit is pretty easy. Escaping Kerbins SOI with ion engines is also easy if you have enough engines and fuel.

It is, if you have an idea what the golf ball is going to be.
