  1. Although small flecks of paint and such that are travelling at incredibly high speeds can be dangerous to crewed vessels, larger debris and non-functional satellites are so spread out that there is a very small chance of them actually hitting something. Even though Gravity (the movie) was great, the event is extremely unlikely.
  2. These works are great! The gritty pencil-pen feel really conveys the fact that these are forgotten debris, yet it still keeps a very artistic feel.
  3. DON'T PRESS THAT BUTTON! said command.
  4. I typically roleplay, putting a ring of comsats in orbit around kerbin and the mun is typically the first task in any game of mine.
  5. I have built an atmospheric lander that uses 4 drop tanks in asparagus staging. Can reach orbit at all atmospheric planets (except eve) and most non-atmospheric planets.
  6. When you are on that rocket in your dreams that you built to go to the mun, you go to the mun, you somehow know kerbal-speak and talk with Jeb (your pilot) and then you wake up as the ships parachutes dont open.
  7. Conscious for about 15 seconds (depending on how fit you are), and 20 seconds before permanent damage. More than that and your X_X
  8. L.A.N.D.E.R: Lithobraking And Nonsensical Dangerous Early Rocket.
  9. This game is arguably one of the best I have ever played. I had a typical interest in astronomy as a child. Once I started playing KSP, that interest came back. It's always nice to have your childhood come back, even if it is through watching a rocket explode.
  10. Recently captured and began construction on Life-Saver Station, an orbital facility built on a class B that would have impacted Kerbin. On the bottom is the Autonomous Asteroid Catcher Mk 1. The habitation unit and command unit (on top) is crewed by 3 kerbals.
  11. The "Adventure Class Mun Rover" can send 1-2 Kerbals to the Mun (hypothetically every other world too) and can give them the ability to travel over vast expanses of terrain. Clocked on the Mun at 25 m/s before it hit a jump and blew its tires. Although it has an irregular design, I have built a "cage" out of struts and supports, that decouples on final approach to the surface.
  12. I had Corlo Kerman strap himself to my interplanetary lifter on a rover seat. Then I propelled him just to the edge of Kerbin's SOI, and let him drop back down. It was not a shallow re-entry. P.S.: He did have a parachute, and it worked, and he was fine afterwards.
  13. I captured my first asteroid! It's name is GS-343 (in honor of Guilty Spark 343) and it will host a scientific space station and observatory.
  14. Nasa actually did an experiment with this. The wire was nearly 1 mile long. The current was so strong, a bolt of electricity jumped the line to the space shuttle and broke the connection. Then nasa watched the multi-million dollar satellite drift away (they wanted to reuse it).
  15. Warning! Warning! An asteroid the scientific community has named D.E.A.T.H is hurtling towards kerbin at nearly 3 km a second. This asteroid is just about quadruple the size of Class E's! There is nothing KSP has to stop it. KSP and fellow Rocket Companies have been tasked with saving kerbin life from it's impending doom. You can't stop the asteroid, but here is what you can do: Options (highly recommended you try all) 1: Kerbal Life Boats or Probe Ships (to see if anyone survived the impact) 2: Colony/Generation Ship 3: Self-Sustaining Space Station + around Kerbin + around Mun or Minmus + around Moho or Dres + around Eve or Duna (more habitable) + in Joolian System or Eeloo 4: Mun or Minmus Base + on Moho or Dres + on Duna or Eve + on Joolian Moon or Eeloo KSP scientists say you have only two Kerbin Days (if you use Earth days that is twelve hours) before the asteroid enters the atmosphere. After it strikes YOU CANNOT go back to the KSP space center to build ships, research, or hire kerbals. You may only use the tracking station to find ships. Engineers suggest you send every part up into orbit FIRST. Then, after the asteroid strikes, dock ships and send them to desired locations. Mods are allowed if they are not over-powered. Popular mods such as MechJeb and Kethane may be used. Kerbals cannot wait to see what you came up with! (P.S. save as many as you can)
  16. The strange shape near the single planet looks like a very crude drawing of the voyager probe (which did carry a gold disc with engraved symbols, a record, etc. for potential alien contact) but it did not send out SSTV signals.
  17. I LOVE making unmanned probe stations. A massive unmanned probe carrier to jool? Done! A rover that is to scour the mun? Done!
  18. Some people (including myself) find that Star Wars is fantasy and sci-fi. You've got wizards (the jedi) a light faction and a dark faction, swords, and there are even creatures in the series that are sentient space-faring dragons.
