  1. Just have FreeThinker change it. I keep saying this. Just as RegEx has free reign to change anything he wants in RealFuels. If there are debates with the decisions, sort them out via PM or in the RealFuels thread.
  2. Hell, FreeThinker has full write access to that portion of the document. I'm just waiting for everyone to flag things as done. RE costs, etc. - bring those up with the relevant curator, not in this thread please. In case folks kinda forgot what this is for - this is about making sure we do not stomp over eachother. But at the end of the day, I trust the individual curators to do the right thing (i.e. I don't quibble with Taranis over definitions for Oxygen, or Universal Storage for their Hydrogen definition). The only time we should be bringing stuff up in this thread is if there's a significant issue or game-breaking proposal - like unification of a nuclear fuel, establishing Lqd as our prefix, 1L units, etc. The detail stuff (costs, specific densities, etc.) stick with whoever is curating the mod that owns it unless it's causing some kind of breaking issue.
  3. NorthStar. First. You are talking about a difference per unit of 0.000098. Again... rounding territory. Second. It's a KSPI-E resource... so I have no idea why you are even lobbying for a change in this thread... talk to FreeThinker. Enough.
  4. NorthStar. I've asked like... five times now to please take this to another thread (i.e. the RealFuels one) or take it to PM. Keep it up and I will ask for moderation.
  5. NorthStar - with all due respect, we need to let this bit go. We're past discussing densities for now, and focusing on getting the first cut taken care of. At that point, if there are any issues - and within that context, only between shared resources, and between two mods with a conflict, we'll bring it up. Just need us to stay on task as time is limited, and we all have a lot of work to do. - - - Updated - - - Two side notes. SpareParts (courtesy of DangIt!) is also moving to 1L units, so that's out of the way BioMass is off the list due to lack of communication. In the interest of not stomping over their stuff, I'll move the USI mods to a 1L 'Organics' resource. LqdCO2 does not conflict already so we're good on that front.
  6. Any reason why not tho? How 'off' are RF costs compared to stock? (Esp given that a lot of CRP bits are based on real world costs)
  7. Go crazy, It's just unusual to hit those kinds of numbers. Next release will have a smaller version of the kontainer when they get their rework.
  8. @Coffeeman - quick query for you! SpareParts is a CRP resource. We're currently converting all of CRP to the standard of 1L units (vs 5L). The new (proposed) CRP spec for this is: RESOURCE_DEFINITION { name = SpareParts density = 0.00378 flowMode = NO_FLOW transfer = NONE isTweakable = true unitCost = 12.6 } Timetable is 1.0 since most of us have to completely refactor our mods anyway. Taniwha will also be moving EL over to 1L units, so this would be the last one in the production chain not in the new measurement standard (other than stock, which we can't change anyay). Can you please confirm whether or not you are ok with this change? Trying to sort all of this out no later than the 22nd. Thanks!
  9. FreeThinker/RegEx/Nertea, I've added a new column to the CRP working document so you can note which resources are done. IMO given the amount of work some of us have to do to get our stuff for 1.0 sorted, we should get a fork stuck in these sooner rather than later. As you sort out costs, etc. please change 'COMPLETE' to 'YES'. Time table wise, let's shoot for a week from today (3/22). At that point, the bus is going to be leaving, and anything not complete will be dropped till the next version, or I'll just stick a number in it and call it a day. Otherwise, I expect we can spend months fiddling with the numbers, which completely defeats the purpose
  10. The biggest benefit I get from mining is survey contracts. This little hopper stays landed next to a surface mining rig and refinery on Minmus (and a matching one on the Mun). Rack up a few survey contracts, go exploring, then land back at the depot (which has been making fuel in the background), fill up, rinse and repeat. My Minmus one has closed at least twenty survey contracts and has paid for a good chunk of my space program, and could easily redo this on any of the low-gravity planets and moons. (edit) ...and it has over 8,000 delta v
  11. Done. Would this be something we want to add to atmospheres as a potential element? Fairly trivial to do the config for it. I recall someone talking about that in a thread somewhere, though I think the reference was into hydrogen not methane
  12. heh, concur on the claw. Also will be adding you and Helaeon to the credits because your contributions are awesome
  13. You do realize that the current CRP has been using the 1000kg/m3 definition since CRP first came out, and that definition came from TAC-LS. From CRP: RESOURCE_DEFINITION { name = Water density = 0.0010000000 flowMode = ALL_VESSEL transfer = PUMP isTweakable = true unitCost = 0.0008 } From TAC-LS: RESOURCE_DEFINITION { name = Water density = 0.001 flowMode = ALL_VESSEL transfer = PUMP isTweakable = true unitCost = 0.0008 } I think Taranis is owed an apology. (Edit for completeness) KSPI LqdWater: RESOURCE_DEFINITION { name = LqdWater density = 0.001 flowMode = STACK_PRIORITY_SEARCH transfer = PUMP isTweakable = true unitCost = 0.000001 }
  14. Only if that small nation is SeaLand. Either way, we already have a yardstick for power consumption in KSP, and my point was that calling this mod's power requirements a 'joke' and using KSPI's power levels (which are orders of magnitude greater than that of anything stock) as the benchmark for that comment makes no sense.
  15. Yep let me go find that. Was that for KSPI or for you? Just so I know where to put it in the doc.
  16. Also... NorthStar is in for a rude awakening as CRP uses TAC-LS for our water density. Granted, he's also quibbling over about every other density in that thread. Thankfully he has no say.
  17. @Northstar - nothing personal, but at this stage of the game we're not going to quibble over a difference of 0.00000014 per unit for LqdHydrogen. That's a rounding error (Also, NFT is the curator for that resource, and I doubt Nertea plans on changing it's density). Some of the densities being argued here are miniscule, to the point where I trust the mod curators (i.e. Regex and FreeThinker) to just stick a number in for their relevant mods (and both have already been given write access to the CRP working doc. At this juncture, the thread needs to turn to conflict resolution between curators, and leave any debate on an individual mod's resources that they curate to their own thread. That way you can have an in depth discussion on the topic, and the curator (i.e. Regex/NathanKell) can come to this thread to advocate the change (at which point, I expect the rest of us would just say 'yes' unless there's a serious game-breaking issue).
  18. I'd hardly call the power requirement a joke, but would rather say that KSPI power levels are pretty inflated. Point of reference. The nuclear power plant at three mile island has a nameplate capacity of around 850MW. The largest nuclear power plant out there (the Civaux I in France) has a nameplate capacity of 1.561GW (The largest US power plant comes in fifth at just 1.428GW). The entire nuclear reactor output of ALL active reactors in the United States... like... almost 100 of them... is about 98GW. (FYI license for stuff posted here is ARR unless explicitly changed by the author). (Edit - these are MW/GW electric not Thermal - so point of comparison, the Palo Verde's GWt rating is more like 3.8GW to 3.9GW)
  19. Got it. Let me get Nertea back to weigh in on the trio (Actinides, DepletedUranium, DepletedFuel) since NFT and USI use a two resource system (fuel and potentially reprocessable but waste is discarded) vs. KSPI which uses a three resource process and I'll pretty much follow his lead. We may also table this for a bit given how close we are to ratification. PM me your email and I'll give you write access to the KSPI section of the CRP doc so you can adjust as needed, now that the Regex has updated RealFuels. I'll do the CRP and USI ones, and then once Nertea is back he can do the ones for NFT and we can stick a fork in this version. Lastly - let me know which resources you want to mark as harvestable, and please include crustal, oceanic, atmospheric, and exospheric. Also note any biome or planetary restrictions. My preference generally is to have some low-percentage global stuff with the occasional biome or planet override (like ice caps on Duna, Vall's surface, the Mun, etc.) this way we are compatible with new biomes and new planet packs. - - - Updated - - - @Northstar - no worries. Also - if you're just doing resource to resource stuff, that's pretty much an out of the box Regolith converter, and you can use the Karbonite ones as examples. Given densities are now consistent across RF/KSPI/USI/NFT, quantities should be fine and you would not need a custom converter. You can ping for any specific questions in the regolith thread.
