Kerbal Flying Saucers adds some really powerful technologies to the game that would make space flight trivial without something to limit them. Making Graviolium something you have to obtain post launch is one of the limiters. You can produce Graviolium in the refinery, but the process is slow and expensive. Think of it like the real world iridium. Only 3 metric tons are produced per year according to Wikipedia... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iridium You can also collect Graviolium in orbit by using the Stardust collector. That will definitely take time, and is slower than the refinery. The main source of Graviolium is from asteroids. Some planets might be lucky enough to have small amounts of the resource as well. And if you have Pathfinder installed, prospecting might locate Graviolium as well.

I got to do some more things with KFS today. I've added action groups to the gravitic engine to shift between forward, reverse, and VTOL thrust. You can also toggle Crazy Mode (forward only) on and off with an action group. Plus, I did a study on the Excalibur's deck layout: I had to adjust the shape a bit to fit the storage unit but it's all good now.

That’s why I stopped wasting my time on help files or KSPedia or wiki pages. People don’t read them and then bitterly complain when they can’t figure out how to do stuff. At most I have part tool tips that people don’t read, part descriptions that are ignored, and tutorial videos that aren’t watched. That’s not just sarcasm, it’s years of experience.

Aw man, I even put the path to the sample craft files on the promotional images... I too have been pretty busy for a couple of weeks now. Adjusting to the new job and the summer heat has been wearing me down, and my desktop PC took a dive. Fortunately I've got backups of all my files and can continue working on the mothership on my laptop. I've also been taking a break to explore new shapes for my Heisenberg mod's Bison command cab, but I expect to at least lay out the decks for the mothership over the weekend. After that, I'll start taking the template meshes and filling in some details before coming up with the look of the Excalibur's texture patterns. With my free time now limited again, I'm aiming for end of summer to have the Excalibur done. It's unfortunate that it'll take so long, but quality artwork takes time, and it's not like I'm making some bland fuel tank. @Mekan1k When you attach the parts, you should also get some tool tip windows that pop up and give you hints. Also, check the original posts's promo images. Also, I added tutorial videos to the OP some time ago...

[Minimum KSP: 1.12.2] Heisenberg - Airships Part Pack
Angelo Kerman replied to Angelo Kerman's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
You would need two versions of the part to do that, the IVA can’t be dynamically configured... The existing cab won’t go away. It might be renamed or deprecated. It was originally a cupola... -

Heh. Probably won’t look like that. -

While I puzzle through the KFS Mothership, I"m doing some side project work on the Heisenberg. I'm set to finish out the rover parts needed for the Bison Gondola/Rover system, including new wheels, custom chassis, and others. One thing I don't like is the current design for the Bison cab; while it's similar to the Buffalo- which is in the same family as vehicles at KSC- I don't think it really fits for the Bison. So I did some digging and found a rover to be inspired by: I think it works well, so I started sculpting a new command cab: Still a blunt shape which kind of works for KSC vehicles, but sleeker than the current design. Also, I'm thinking about adding a set of aircraft parts as well- the Buffalo has the JetWing, and I was thinking that the Bison should have a complementary craft too. This one comes to mind (fast forward to about 20 seconds in): -

That is going to let you build flat platforms made of regolith by placing statics on the ground. Ideally with help from Kerbal Konstructs. The idea is you drop a Buffalo Bulldozer on a planet and give it time to build up the regolith. Once said time expires you then place the static model in similar fashion to Kerbal Konstructs. No more slanted bases built on a hillside... It is the next piece of Project Sandcastle.

That's how I feel waiting for the next chapter of Kerny! I wonder if the pink slime is a new form of mystery goo... Great read! Now I'm curious about what the meeting is about too... It also sounds like Kerny, Ralph, and Valentina are Ohoroxtotil ?

It's sounding like it might not be a problem that I can solve. If the symmetry issue is too distracting, you could try removing mirrorRefAxis = 0, 0, 1 From the slices. That should fix the problems you're seeing, but at the expense of correct orientation of parts that are attached to the slices. Alternately, try changing the reference axis to, say 0, 1, 0 and see what happens.

Originally RPM was required, just for the HUD. @MOARdV graciously took care of that. Now you only need MOARdv Avionics Systems (and ASET props and ASET Avionics) along with Near Future Props. Speaking of which, KFS 0.3.0 is now available: - Flapjack IVA upgraded (WIP) courtesy of MOARdv NOTE: You'll need MOARdv Avionics Systems 0.20.1 or later. - Added new S-4 Excalibur parts category. - Added test parts for the S-4 Excalibur mothership. THESE ARE UNDER DEVELOPMENT AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. Think of these parts like in the old days where aerospace companies used to make mockups.

@vardicd Glad you’re having fun with the mod. I should have another update as early as tonight. It will have some IVA and docking port updates courtesy of @MOARdV as well as some test parts for the mothership. Those parts aren’t done by any stretch of the imagination and absolutely subject to change. There is a lot of work to do on them..
