What/who introduced you into Ksp?
Curveball Anders replied to Aerodynamic Kerbal's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Oddly enough it was EvE Online that brought me to KSP Due to some EvE blogger that I followed also dabbled with it, and got me intrigued. -
Alt-F4 Even works on Linux

Just what the (imaginary very hot place) is up with the docking ports in 1.12.x? Suddenly they stop working despite working on identical crafts in another orbit. They trigger correctly, magnets pull in, but on some crafts they plain refuse to connect. Currently on 1.12.3 Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS. Same designs has worked for years, and same design still works _sometimes_ and then they stop. Edit: Just had a brainwave and tested to use an engineer to go EVA and remove the docking port on the smaller craft and put it back. And suddenly it worked again ... Something seriously fishy is going on ...

How many boosters do you use (if any)?
Curveball Anders replied to Vectura's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I usually go with two, and then upgrade to 4 (sometimes down to three for mission adaption). But my favorite trick is "hybrid aspargus', Stacking some LF tanks on top of the boosters, adjusting so they drain first and enable cross feed. The trick is to balance the thrust limiter on the boosters and the size of the 'drop tanks' so both run out at the same time (-ish). Saves a bit of cash on my standard launchers that I use over and over again. -

Un-kopernicus planets?
Curveball Anders replied to Jeb x Valentina's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
You will have to write your own code that does the same as Kopernicus. -
KSP1 Computer Building/Buying Megathread
Curveball Anders replied to Leonov's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I use an I-5 3570K (oc:ed at 4.1GHz) with 16GB ram a GTX 960 with 4GB and an SSD running Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS. Works really nice for me (but note that I don't use any graphical mods). -
[WIN] KML - Persistence file editor
Curveball Anders replied to Mythos's topic in KSP1 Tools and Applications
Erh, yes. It's a bit tricky but given that you have to ID's of both you should be able to cut and paste to change the ID of one of them. But the positioning might be and issue, Anyway, take backup copy of your savefile and try.- 237 replies

EVA Transfer from DMagics lovely pile of little mods. It allows you to let a Kerbal on EVA to drag a fuel hose from one vehicle to another (it's a little fuel gadget that you have to add to at least one of them). Once connected to you can transfer any resource between the vehicles (even in orbit if you're good at parallel parking). The advantage to KIS/KAS is that it's much smaller and only does one thing.

Migrating to Breaking Ground?
Curveball Anders replied to splashboom's topic in Breaking Ground Discussion
Edit your "persistent.sfs" and add "ROCSeed = 925755277" below the ordinary Seed (should be around line 11-12). The actual number isn't important, it's just a random seed. And yea, as always, backup your file before editing it -
Migrating to Breaking Ground?
Curveball Anders replied to splashboom's topic in Breaking Ground Discussion
I didn't have any issues (that I remember), but I'd take a backup of the current install just to be sure. -
Is Jeb more powerful than Val?
Curveball Anders replied to Staticalliam7's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Of course she's less stupid, she's female -
Is there a way to make Electric Motors more powerful?
Curveball Anders replied to PalowPower's topic in KSP1 Discussion
A module manager patch would solve the issue without having to edit the actual file. -

KSP crashes my entire PC
Curveball Anders replied to wezerl's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
If any software causes your computer to crash that hard then you have serious hardware issues, Clogged fans, under powered power supply, bad cooling, all comes to mind. -
My KSP crashes a lot
Curveball Anders replied to _Isaac_'s topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
You need at least 4 GB to have any chance of running KSP. -
Same here, I always keep a sandbox save named JPL to test and evaluate. Sometimes copying designs between that save and my 'main' career save.

My point is that I can't see any commercial gains to be found for Take Two. And as a commercial company they're obligated to seek the best economical solution for their owners.

The chance that they would give away their IP and create a free competitor to KSP2 is extremely close to zero.
