  1. Dunno if this is the best mod at all. I've nothing but problems with it. Isn't it supposed to find the latest mods, it doesn't. Also i keep it up to date yet it crashes all the time. I'm on Linux and have all the recommended sundry programs installed yet it is not a satisfactory experience at all. Is there an alternative to CKAN? I know I'm moaning but I'm happy to provide any further information you need but right now it is too frustrating to bother with.
  2. My girlfriend is going to be on holiday for the whole of next week. I hope that this is ready soon so I can devote some serious kerbal time!
  3. Thanks for keeping this going Freethinker and those who've helped. KUTGW!
  4. I wish there was. It says it only gets the mods that have been listed for a particular version but that's plainly not the case. I wonder what's going on there.
  5. Ok great thanks for the responses! MKS it is then and I'll check out the civilian mod too. Yep I'm patiently waiting too as a keen leacher, let me just say thanks to the devs for some great mods!
  6. Quick question : If I wanted to use EPL with tac lifesupport, then I'm gonna need a way to keep the kerbals alive at their various EPL bases, self sufficiency is the goal. What's the best way to do that? The only one I know of is MKS but I've not tried that. Is it recommended or is there a solution that works better with tac and EPL? Cheers!
  7. Hi there, I'd limit the number of addons you get for a while as you get used to the game. The two you mentioned will definitely help you do that so get those. Also another two would be Ferram Aerospace Research and Deadly Reentry. The former gives you realistic aerodynamics and the latter gives a much better (and dangerous) heat model for you to cope with on return. The craft you build with this are more realistic than those you can get away with in the stock game. The chances of you getting tgem in future if you stick with KSP are very high so I recommend starting now! Thing is, both haven't been completed yet for 1.0,i expect they'll be out in under a week, so for the time being I recommend monitoring Engineer and copying the examples the Mechjeb gives you and you'll have a great starting place. For Kolonization then check out all of Roverdude's packs, they are excellent but make sure you've learnt the basics first as the difficulty does scale with each mod you use. Good luck and fly safe!
  8. I think you forgot about DRE. There'll be a new version of it soon which will cover all of the above. Personally I see stock as a simple training game to get people used to the mechanics of the game. There's no sense of achievement in doing anything in stock as it's too easy. Get DRE and nufar when they're released.
  9. Just install Linux mate. I was close to walking away too in .90 but bit the bullet and installed Ubuntu. It's very easy to do as it walks you through the install. You can throw almost as many mods as you want it then,
  10. Wow, the way you've extended this game is amazing. Thanks for all your efforts!
  11. Hello, I couldn't find this question anywhere but apologies if it's already been addressed. I've selected the mods I would like to install and ckan has run fine but I'm not sure how it then knows to select the 64 bit ksp exe when I select Launch KSP. I'm running Linux and am not sure how to check which exe is running so could you confirm that it does in fact launch the 64 please? Thanks!
  12. Hi there, could someone be kind enough to give me a list of recommended mods that will work with this. You know like "My Favourite Mods That I Know Work With KSPNF" in particular I'm worried about resource mining and processing for Exp Launchpads. Kethane or Karbonite? Regolith? Thanks!
  13. Hello, could someone let me know which other mods will have work with this iteration please? For example in the past I played this with NEAR, Deadly Reentry, B9, FAR, Exp Launchpads and Kethane amongst all the other more popular mods. Are there any popular mods that won't work with this as I'd love to play interstellar again. E.g. I notice there was some talk about regolith, do I download that now and its mods and not use kethane at all? It's all got a bit confusing for me! Thanks!
  14. +1 for Linux 64 bit. Last week I got hold of a copy of Ubuntu and the installation could not have been easier and the game runs great now. I can't be bothered to learn to use Linux as my everyday OS so I chose the option to dualboot, it's easy, do it!
  15. Ah, simple answer then cheers! Hopefully they will soon.
  16. Hello there, I've had a bit of a read of a couple of threads but I couldn't find the answer, hope you can help. I'd like to use Interstellar, Exp Launchpads and b9, probably with near future tech also. Will these work in this system? Thanks!
  17. Hey there, I've unlocked mechjeb in Basic Aerodynamics but I haven't got the part to attach. Do I need to unlock something else? Thanks!
  18. Hello. Thanks for a great tech tree, I'm using it now on my first tryout of 0.90. One question though: I installed all the mods in the list and it runs fine but I've just launched for my first orbit attempt but my final stage engine is not reigniting and I'm not sure which mod it is that I need to make a design change for to get it to relight. I've got enough electricity and fuel and the engine is the L2 Atlas. Thanks! edit: weird, it works now.
  19. Hey, I can't exactly answer your question in relation to stats for build time but... timewarp is your friend. The first factory i built had loads of smelters and ore storages and was an unflyable mess because i thought moar is better. The 2nd one I built had the bare minimum needed to keep a continuous, if slow, production going and I used warp to speed things up.
  20. Hopefully you also have Kerbal Attachment system too so you may be able to attach the fuel lines.
  21. Joy! Thanks Taniwha and DB. I reinstalled the folder and it works now. On a side note I saw that you recommend Kerbal Experience so installed that too - not sure if that would have an effect on the UI though. Nope not using 64-bit due to it being an unstable mess Thanks!
  22. Thanks for your reply DB. Just to check as I'm new to mods - to reinstall a mod, do I just delete the EL folder in gamedata and replace with a newly downloaded version? Will doing that not conflict with an already running save game?
