I've been using mine for a while now. I came up with it while playing RCT3 and used it for my YouTube account. (in which I had grandiose plans for it that never came to fruition) I was thinking, "rollercoasters are fast, why not supersonic?" The "Mr" was just there for no particular reason. Then I used it for Minecraft and it stuck. I use variants if it's already taken, like M1stersupersonic (YouTube), M5trsupersonic (Twitch), but most of the time it's avalable in the regular Mrsupersonic format.

^ This. I don't like whats happening. Simple bugs that should have been squashed the first time around are still present and even worse than before. And while mods tend to break in a new release, ones that worked fine in 1.1.0 get broken in a "patch" (1.1.1/1.1.2). The Linux version is just garbage now and they haven't done anything to address it. Seriously Squad, GET IT TOGETHER! You said you would deliver a quality product but what do we get instead? A buggy release and a few "screw this its too hard to fix all the bugs in one go" patches. And then they go on vacation. If this is the current situation for new releases, I'll gladly stick to my heavily modded 1.0.4 game. Because it works.

What music do you listen to while playing KSP?
CaelumEtAstra replied to Scenter102's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Usually this (thanks to EJ_SA) https://soundcloud.com/robertparkerofficial Sometimes my youtube playlist of (mostly) classic rock et al https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoecZqDspT0PkIDm7hcUD9xrxXBGtSqNE And if i'm feeling especially inspired the Interstellar OST https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1U9LNsfMTI Edit: How do these people drag up these threads from Davy Jones's locker? Seriously, you'd have to actually DIG to find these threads. C'mon people, get with the program. -
What's your preferred method of playing KSP?
CaelumEtAstra replied to ZooNamedGames's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Good ol' fashioned keyboard and mouse for me, specifically a Logitech G710+ and a generic Dell mouse. I'd love to use a joystick, but I don't have the money to buy a decent one nor the patience to set it up.- 51 replies

In my main sandbox save, though I don't really have any set rules--I just shoot for realism whenever I can. There are a few I try to follow, though: When building a spacecraft, be sure to follow Akin's Laws. Small, efficient spacecraft and rockets can do a just as good if not better than an oversized capital ship. Keep debris to a minimum. All upper stages must have the capability to deorbit after the payload is on orbit. If deorbit is not possible, it must be on the surface of an object, on a trajectory that impacts an object (like Mun or Minmus), in a graveyard orbit, or placed into a heliocentric orbit. All space stations must have at least one spacecraft docked to act as a lifeboat in the event of an emergency. Quicksaves are allowed, but quickloads are only for simulations, bugs, kraken attacks, or overshooting a maneuver node. (NASA never does that, so why should I punish myself for my own stupidity?) F12 and HyperEdit are for simulations ONLY. (I have, however, used the ignore max temp to prevent a heating bug during missions that would be impossible IRL. I sometimes make exceptions for the sake of realism.)

"SpaceX" or "Mars One" (I can't tell) in the simpsons
CaelumEtAstra replied to Spaceception's topic in The Lounge
They're probably playing off the fact Mars One turned out to be a scam/hoax. -
My game usually flickers between green and yellow for crafts with low part counts (~10-20 parts). Most of my crafts don't get much higher than 150-200 parts, and usually that's a rocket on the pad plus payload. My ever faithful Apollo style capsule in an "LKO Taxi" configuration (a la Eyes Turned Skyward Apollo Block III) is about 30 parts, and in orbit the clock is solid yellow, at about half speed. Even when docking to a ~150 part station, the clock is still yellow. I think it's just because I prefer smaller crafts that just so happen to have such a low part count that I never needed to worry about single digit fps.

Thats not grey goo, thats "mapping data incomplete".

Why is SpaceX building the Brownsville Launch Complex?
CaelumEtAstra replied to fredinno's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Could they just tell the rigs near Brownsville to clear the range? And once the rocket is no longer a threat, couldn't they just move back to where they were? And if the moving process takes a while, then couldn't they move them ahead of time in accordance with the launch profile and schedule? (It's not like it's that wayward boat where it could move out of the way in a matter of minutes, these are huge rigs that need to be moved with tugs or the like) -
I did this last week but... I built my own shuttle! Launched great, orbited fine, failed to land because I'm a terrible pilot.

I'm using Linux Mint 17.1 right now, and I've warmed up to it from my previous experience with Windows 8.1. However, my favorite is Windows XP for its sheer ubiquity. XP was released in 2001 and support was ended in 2014. That's all the way through Vista's primary support(!) as well as a good portion of Vista's extended support and Windows 7's primary support. There's even a version of XP out there that's still being supported (for those who somehow don't want to upgrade to at least Windows 7) known as Embedded 2009. It's not going anywhere whether we like it or not.

DOWNLOAD IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE DUE TO KERBALSTUFF MIGRATION See here: https://redd.it/45xmio Kerbalstuff now exists as http://spacedock.info/, but it is currently unusable and many of the mods are missing, including this one. I'm waiting to see if it will be restored; if not, I will re-upload it. Download now available: http://spacedock.info/mod/63/Heat%20Shield%20for%20the%20Mk1%20Command%20Pod
