As long as it scans hex by hex and doesn't interpolate during time warp, I find it's better to do it in semi-polar LKO just above atmosphere, leave it at 1x speed and go weed your garden. When they make kethane scanner work like the ScanSat ones, however, that'll be entirely different story altogether... -

Well, for one, that Research It All plugin keeps popping even though there's nothing new to research. More of an annoyance than hindrance. Also, kerbals in those tiny windows are performing a slideshow; the animation updates like once a second. "Here, Bill is smiling, and here he begins to realize his situation. Finally, here he shows complete terror." -
And after you've science-bombed half the tech tree, the career mode quickly loses its charm...

"Looks like", huh? Nothing on that page says it will for certain be included in the 0.24, neither is it colored blue in the Planned Features (http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Planned_features) To save ourselves from the Great Disappointment of the Second Gas Giant Absence, I'll assume it won't make it in for the 0.24. Unless you provide some legit sources. I'm watching you. Closely.

You, sir, appear to be underestimating the KSP players. The "FPS killer" ship category easily rivals asteroids in mass. Imagine if such a ship and an asteroid were to meet... A mere flyby could alter the asteroid's trajectory. And the opposite would be true: when planning interplanetary missions, one'd have to watch out for asteroids, especially the more massive ones. Nothing that a brief burst of RCS can't fix, though - timely route correction can easily restore the trajectory. I'd hate to be that guy who does his realtime missions afk, though...

Not if you expel it radially (symetrically, of course). The forces negate each other out. As for Jebs floating in front of exhaust ports, however... -
Is there actually ANY way to speed up ksp?

1. Use less parts. 2. Use less mods. 3. Use reduced texture packs / texture optimization addons. 4. Buy a monster rig (i7/killer graphics/SSD) 5. Wait for SQUAD to optimize the game. Those are your options right now. -

Struts are a given! Shame those beam and hub parts aren't available earlier in the tech tree... It's frustrating I can't use common construction elements but I can use advanced rocket engines and scientific equipment. Common sense is a term not found in Kerbal dictionary.
