You\'re aimin\' for what? Woooooah ??? I didn\'t suppose engine thrust affects aerodynamics so much. I allow changing this parameter. OP updated. Waitin\' for your results

Parachute really takes a long time to load. However \'several minutes\' is a little too much. Try the following. Open game\'s settings.cfg (located in game root directory) with the Notepad and set SHOW_CONSOLE_ON_ERROR = True. Then launch the game and see whether it shows an error in console.

No config changes.

Since the release of The Drone v2.6 launching that bird no longer makes a challenge; so I\'m closing the topic. I\'m pretty much satisfied by the results we\'ve got here. Thanks to everyone who took part! H&S Tinkering Workshop is looking for a skilled test pilot. O.K. guys, here\'s the problem. Our technicians have just tinkered a new unmanned airplane, \'the Drone\', -- and she just fails to fly straight. We need someone to tech \'er to fly. Your mission as a test pilot is to determine optimal launching conditions to acquire the longest traveling distance. You\'ll need to [li]Download HSTW Drone pack. You may either build a carrier of any parts at your discretion or use a supplied .craft file (required parts: C7, stock, HSTW Drone). In the former case you must upload your .carft file along with a list of parts used.[/li] [li]Takeoff and set the course, stabilize flight parameters (no controls should be touched at this moment!) then launch the Drone and take a screenshot immediately. Launch conditions (altitude, carrier speed and pitch angle) must be clearly visible in the screenshot as well as mission timer readings. Buildings of KSC must also be visible in the screenshot. See example in the post below.[/li] [li]Chase the Drone as long as you can. Take a screenshot just before losing the Drone (yes, that implies taking the screenshots constantly during the flight!), then open \'End Mission\' window and take another one with Ground Distance Covered value clearly visible. Mission timer must also be shown in both pictures.[/li] [li]Note that topicstarter may ask you to repeat your record flight.[/li] [li]Your results will be published along with your craft\'s name and launch conditions from the first screenshot.[/li] Airplane tuning engineer contest has been won by Iskierka. Iskierka will receive the main prize: any single KSP part modelled and textured at his discretion. In addition he will be listed as the co-author of next release of HSTW Drone pack. No future .CFG-edits will be accepted. Thanks, I have this picture. As I told before RCS-only version is already planned.

CrashTolerance parameter determines part\'s resistance to collision, while breakingForce and breakingTorque define how strong is the part\'s attachment to other ones. 1e37 seems to be the maximum allowed value for these parameters. That\'s not enough. The part (its node_collider mesh, to be exact) must be big enough and must be placed around (0, 0, 0) point. If that point ever touches the ground (or some other object) the part explodes no matter how large crashTolerance is. I\'ve found that node_collider which is 1 meter in diameter resists a fall from 150 m at Kerbin and from 500 m at Mun.

Currently I don\'t plan modelling launch vehicles at all. I\'d prefer modelling spacecrafts like Vostok/Voskhod, Salut space station etc.. When speaking about launchers the only rocket I\'d really like to model is Proton. It has quite an interesting first stage, ya know... Anyway that\'s the future deal. Nearest plans include finishing the glider, then releasing Gemini-RCS... and then returning to my business before I\'ve lost all the clients))))

????. I mean, \'an ass\'. Pronounced as ZhOPA. Also: Senator\'s Obviously a Perverted Asshole. What more?
-
It seems that I faced the first case. A part I tested behave just as if its collider was completely O.K. Probably Unity auto-corrected it. UPDATE. C7, thanks a lot for an explanation. I\'ve added a reference to Tips and tricks list.

Whoa. Thumbs up lad! I\'ve quit watching fifteen years ago  A quite ironic observation on Russian book market: the more new book is advertised the greater the chances for it to turn out a complete bullshit while some authors writing under CC and distributing their works for free easily overcome this paid stuff. BTW last three Hollywood films I\'ve, err, pirated haven\'t been worth even the time I\'ve spent watching. They indeed would not be worth a cinema ticket... Ah, and here\'s another way to oppose copyright paranoia: if sued for piracy join Missionary Church of Kopimism and sue them in response for religious intolerance 8)

To make this idea work and really take some (probably negligible) amount of money away from bill\'s lobbyists one should convince the vast majority of Internet users to do so. Including those who don\'t know, don\'t care or don\'t speak one\'s language... with these three groups making more than 99,9% of Internet users So it\'s a nice idea, but even spreading a word by all the forum\'s visitors hardly will make a difference. For example, most of my readers belong to the second group, i.e. do not care even slightly. Because they all are those fucking pirates whom that SOPA\'s addressed to fight -- and they\'re already ain\'t buying anything 8). And won\'t stop downloading.
-
Oooops... I\'ve never even thought of that pontoon usage ???. Game hacks develop rapidly))
-
Wow! That ideal is finally working))) I wonder it there a way to empty/fill RCS tanks separately. Trim tanks (one in the fore and one in the aft) would be quite handy for a larger ship.

CardBoardBoxProcessor told you that this mod is already done. See my signature. -
suggestion to make a lot of parts easiest possible
Tosh replied to manuelasa1999's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Meh, the render I\'ve made is of no practical use. That model still consists of 15 different meshes and joining them makes just no sense \'cause all the textures need to be redrawn beforehand. Mine does not work. And it will not 8) -
I could just make a hi-poly version of that tank with another texture... but not in the nearest future, it seems. I\'m quite busy at this moment Do you mean that windows are looking in the wrong direction as compared with a standard pod? Yes, I confirm. Will fix that in the next release.

Yeah, I agree. I\'ve just tried to \'do it myself\' and import NASA\'s Gemini model (this one)... Uh, I\'m glad I\'ve rejected to use this one when beginning to work on my project. After two hours of work it has all textures applied and somehow renders in Blender but it still needs a helluva amount of merging, cutting and retexturing to be of some use for KSP. And my own model at least has pod hatches worked out. NASA\'s one has not )) -
You mean Titan II... but aren\'t NovaPunch double-length 1.75m tank and Twin Bertha engine modelled after that rocket?
-
Wow! Thanks))) Frankly speaking that list is a bit outdated. SIDR & Wobbly are deprecated while NovaPunch (required to fly Gemini spacecraft LOL)) is not even in the list...
