The challenge should go up today, right? Because It's more than half way to tomorrow already. -
I'm surprised. I figured that your mere presence would be enough to cause the lander to instantly enlarge to be bigger than the planets, and the frame rate would automatically drop to two FPS.
-
After living a long, full life in the peaceful solitude of my space habitat (which included a sharp set of knives for cutting duct tape), I finally die. Before I die, I teleport the next poster into the core of VY Canis Majoris.
-
Oh, I think I see where you're gong with this now. You want to be a bit like Space Engine, where part of the fun of it is finding weird or unusual planets and then showing them to others, who can in turn visit the planets themselves. Well, I still think the planetarium would ruin some of the fun, considering that you could just minimized SotS, find someone who is willing to tell you the location of an unusual planet, and then just enter some numbers into the planetarium and instantly go to the planet. There's no challenge to it. So you would have a 3D map, but stars and planets are just rendered as simplistic points? Or would it be 2D? I like the 3D idea, as it allows for much easier mission planning, even if it's not strictly 70's technology. (And your technology is obviously not strictly 70's, as you are able to teleport between universes.)
-
I would think that the problems that you have stated above would FAR outweigh the benefits (which I think are sparse at best) that would arise from a planetarium mode. The only kind of "planetarium mode" that I would recommend would be a system that allows you to view planets that you have already discovered, and even then only as much information as your probes have sent back (and you can't see animal/plants on the surface of the planet unless you have some kind of continuous source of video orbiting the planet). Obviously, there would have to be some kind of map mode, though, but being able to see every planet before it is discovered is overkill. Also, wouldn't it be possible to have totally random planets and star systems for each save? If I understand correctly, you will be able to enter the microverse at pretty much any arbitrary star system, so it's not like KSP where you are intimately familiar with the home system. Any familiarity with the planetary structure of the universe that would arise between players is pretty much killed by this mechanic as well, so why not make it random?

I'm so tough, Popeye couldn't beat me when he ate spinach. Welcome to Vaporo's Crab Shack. How tough are you?

Liam wants to smack Jakob for wasting their limited supply of 3D ink on food when they already have a three week supply of (however tasteless) rations, but, as he always does, his older brother does what he wants without any regard to the future.
-
As Jakob piles their loot into their truck, the soot-blackened sky looming overhead, Liam fidgets nervously in his seat, carefully adjusting the delicate instrumentation that he had so carefully crafted by hand from scrap metal to kept the truck's reactor stable.
-
Due to the temperamental nature of all Kraken-based weapons, especially ones that have been out of the hands of proper handlers for over a year and are being fired into Liam's brilliantly designed (though still unrelialable) Kraken-barrier, the vigilante teleports into orbit two feet above the sun and is promptly vaporized, leaving his supplies behind. (You're only supposed to post one sentence, so I'm ignoring the second two.)
-
I think that you mentioned that there would be about thirty creatures in total in the stock game. Since the player will likely be encountering the same creatures on multiple planets, what if there was a system in place that would cause species to be transferred between planets, which would explain the replicated species?
-
Jakob and Liam, brothers, were two of the few that were prepared when the war struck, two of the few thousand survivors of the millions killed at the whims of the temperamental Kraken powered weapons created by the government of the colonies using dark, forbidden knowledge of the unphysics (which had been believed lost in the destruction caused by the great Sentar war).
-
You'll probably die before you get there. And... WHAT IS THAT???? IS THAT A MOD ALLOWING YOU TO ESCAPE THE SUN? I MUST HAVE THAT MOD!
-
It appears that the Kraken has managed to cross the dimensional barriers between Unity games. Soon it will learn to penetrate other game engines, and then all physics-related programs, then the entirety of the internet, and then reality. Nova, you must crush the invasion NOW before it is too late.

Banned because we had a Pan-Ban-Pan-Pan-Ban-Ban-fest last time the pan wielder posted.

How would it have been still accelerating between saves? I don't think you can return to the space center while you are throttled up. Were you going to take a quicksave and tweak it to be the persistent save? Or do I not understand what you're saying? Also, I want to see how you would complete the challenge that you actually set. -
What gun?

What should be worked on after .24?
Vaporo replied to skyace65's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
There are four things that keep cropping up that I think would make a good update if combined together: More use for Kerbals/ Kerbal experience and history Use for bases and rovers End game content Better/more advanced system for unlocking parts. Fishing (most important) anything along these lines. Though seriously... fishing. EDIT: and planet discovery. -

I'm glad the remaining Reddit team wasn't on the forums. It would have been so hard to pick between that gravity assist grand tour of the solar system and Team 1's submission. I'm surprised that only one team actually managed to assemble it on the ground (which is why I voted for Team 1). By the way, has Whackjob managed to complete his challenge yet? -
I'm so tough, I drive with my radio OFF. Welcome to a thread bumped from page two. How necro are you?

Suggestions from a new player

Music? I'm so tough I play KSP with the sound OFF. Seriously, though, more music would be a nice touch in the polishing stage of development (and improved sound in general). -

Yes. It should be implemented alongside fishing (Which is the most important feature coming our way. The implementation of fishing will give scope completion.)
