  1. With or without proof of purchase, distributing commercial copies of the game will land you in hot water.
  2. Yeah, I think it stopped when they moved to Thursdays. A lot of people can't watch on Thursday night, the person doing the summary must have been the same way. I used to watch MaxMaps every week, but I don't even know who has been doing them since he left.
  3. Thanks for the summary @Laguna (I really wish they would move these back to Friday so I could watch them)
  4. I didn't forget, I just don't think they should be stock. Jet planes played a vital role in the early days of space travel, and may yet again someday. The only instance of a prop plane playing any role that I know of is the good ol' original Vomit Comet (C-131 Samaritan). I've said this several times before but I would love to see a spin-off game of KSP for aircraft only which had the same building style, but didn't include space and had a much more elaborate Kerbin and much more elaborate aircraft parts.
  5. Yes, I remember the old "moar boosters" method of KSP. It was a lot less fun.
  6. So true, the U.S. just can't seem to get with the program. (Note: I live in the U.S. so that's not an attack on another country, it's disappointment in my own) But yeah, as said, it's not something commonly used so introducing it would likely cause more confusion than it would solve. It's not even a standard time frame in countries that use SI. In the past 10 or so years I've worked in the natural gas industry and had to support an international market in gas measurement. I never once heard of a country that used units other than milliseconds, seconds, minutes, and hours, and so forth. If it is used, it must be in very specific industries for very specific reasons.
  7. There is indeed an issue with 1.1.2 and wheels, it's pretty well known. Unfortunately it will not be fixed until at least 2 more versions have been released (1.2)
  8. Why does it have to be so linear? The first 3 can be done simultaneously. (By 'simultaneously' I mean a little each patch). The first thing they need to do is fix the large bugs. The ones that make the game not fun anymore. Everything else should be irrelevant at this point. That part should be linear, though I know it won't be since they have already announced it won't be.
  9. Maybe you should elaborate on what it is you want? When you say 'compact stowage before deployment', the Kerbonov grid fins stow in similar to the stock air brakes and the act as a control surface. I'm not trying to dissuade from a stock implementation, but hopefully that might get you what you want for now.
  10. Do you have a question? or a discussion topic? or is this meant to be a mission report thread?
  11. I believe the OP posted here because he wanted Squad to consider a stock option. Mods that do this already exist.
  12. Because, you can land a craft without them. We had the Mun long before we had landing legs to land on it with. People still landed on it just fine. Now I much prefer having them, but they are certainly not needed. A grid fin would be in the same category. Not needed, but certainly worth having in stock.
  13. Well I disagree, I think they should be stock. As for what is or isn't needed, I could name a dozen KSP parts that are useful but not needed, like landing legs for example.
  14. Grid fins simply provide drag at one end of the craft to keep it righted. How many times have you had a craft flip itself into an orientation you didn't want when entering the atmosphere? If you can remember at least one time, then grid fins can be usefull. Not just for landing first stages, but aerobraking, and landing tall craft on other planets. It would be far more versatile than you give them credit for.
  15. Well we know there is a re-do of the rocket parts coming soon. Not sure if that includes docking ports but it's possible I suppose.
  16. He most likely turned on the pre-release tag in steam and it downgraded to the last pre-release which is older than the current release. That won't work this time Freds, you just have to wait.
  17. Relax. Code rewrites happen all the time, that doesn't mean the methods you use will change their definition. Of all the reasons, not to download 1.1.3, that isn't one of them.
  18. It didn't always. It was capable of stopping without it. The first many flights didn't have one.
  19. I'll save my hype and wait for the next train. This train has bad wheels and is likely to derail. Here is my reaction image It's not even worth the bandwidth.
  20. It's a little more that rumor. The file name of the part is SSME (Space Shuttle Main Engine). Aside from that it looks just like the real thing. But this is Kerbal Space Program, you can use it for anything. Even NASA is (was?) reusing the Rocketdyne RS-25 for the SLS project.
  21. Liquid fuel tanks for NERV engines is probably the biggest missing item, after that landing gear for space shuttles would be nice.
  22. The title of this thread reminds me of one and only one thing.... I mean, really. It's not over, it's just not all that useful for a lot of people right now, or for the next few months. I firmly believe that Squad's feature creep design method is awful, but it's not killing the game, it's just making take a lot longer to do anything.
  23. While that may be true, that simply isn't a reason to ignore a community. It's not like it affects non-steam users in any seriously negative way. As for posts on the forums, that happens, you can come up with 1000 human behaviors we don't like but if the attempt was to avoid them all, then the easiest way to do that is no develop KSP lol. Someone a month ago was arguing against multiplayer because people would grief, that's really a very similar argument to this one. Human behavior is human behavior and we can try to find ways to curb it, but we shouldn't let it hinder improvement.
  24. Yeah the idea that Steam Workshop can't be used because not everybody uses the Steam version is just wrong. It's just a distribution platform. It's up to the mod developer to use it, and it's unlikely many mod developers would choose to use it as their only distribution platform any more than people must use Curse or must use Spacedock exclusively.
