What is your most facepalm-worthy moment regarding KSP?
LordFerret replied to MaverickSawyer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Built a big gigantic ion powered ship in orbit, foolishly putting the ions at the rear of the ship and having them try to push instead of pull. Fail. Made for a nice space snake. The revamped version has the power module up front, pulling, and it's a champ on its way to Eeloo (still). Biggest facepalm however is the fact I've not fired up KSP since last June** (? or thereabouts) because of real life. I still have missions I refuse to abandon in v1.2.2 before moving on... leave no Kerbal behind. **Edit: Just checked, since July 7th. -
At least you still were able to make the trip without the aids... means you know how to drive. Kudos. Here, that "snowstorm" (ha) literally shut the northern half of our state down. People panicked over 6 (to 8) inches of snow. So pathetic.

An interesting mention, one of my more favorite authors. Two things of Crichton's I'd like someone to remake; The Andromeda Strain, and The Terminal Man. Another thing I think having major potential is When HARLIE Was One (David Gerrold). Especially today, I would think it very relevant and a story of interest to many (if done right).

To a large degree, I'll agree with this. I also think it has a lot to do with 'who reads and what'. Too much of today doesn't read, at least not books. Hollywood lost it's magic, or rather 'class', long ago. There are no more worthy writers / creators. These days it's pretty much nothing more than an endless series of remakes of remakes of remakes on themes the general public is familiar with and hold popular. I find that both funny and sad... make that pathetic... as there are tons of old, original, fantastic science fiction stories from an earlier era that would make outstanding movies - if done right. I'm sure all of you could throw a handful of names of authors and titles into the hat on this subject, those 'old' Sci Fi books or novelettes you've read.

Like HAL out there with Bowman... Mr Rain is on an incredible journey, out there somewhere. Godspeed Mr Rain.

RIP Mr Lee, and thank you.

Yes, my phone runs Android (v5.1), although I've not seen any of the issues using Firefox that you're stating. As for the subtitling, I don't use it. Not sure about the theme; mine doesn't seem dark, and when it opens to a Google homepage it's so bright I tend to use it as a flashlight at night. You should be able to change the theme in Settings. Ouch. A sign on a billboard I used to see on the highway read; "Ignore your teeth and they'll go away." During winter, I keep the heat at 60°F at night, and 65°F during the day.

So, just dump Chrome and use Firefox. Works for me.

For now.

Too many years have gone by, but I believe it was F3 that brought up the last line typed in... and all you needed do was continue typing.

You should try a good decaf. I've a family member I keep an eye on, he takes Cardizem (Diltiazem)... he and I both have issues with Arrythmia, although he's in and out of Afib as well. I'm not taking anything (yet). I'm not ready to give up my caffeine ... er ... I mean coffee. It's my understanding that Bach wrote that piece for use in testing the performance of pipe organs, which he tuned as a side-line in making a living. (or something along those lines)

Considering the web as we know it was invented in 1989, and the first public use browser released in 1991 ... I don't see how this is possible. Perhaps the 'content' of the site is copyrighted back to that date? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Wide_Web#History

We kinda have a thread for this already... don't we?

Are we Fugue'ing over Toccatas again?

Wha?!? How does one not know they're taking heart meds?? Curious as to what you're both taking. Care to list it?

I have something newer, low wattage for 'computer stuff', but I also have this (below). It was my father's, it's older than I am ... and it still works!

The name alone should be the clue ..... Twit

Interesting; But they should stick to flying airplanes and leave the rocket stuff to KSP.

Here in the land of Honey-Do, she washed my painting drop-cloths and folded and put them away... and she doesn't remember where. So now, house interior renovation progress is at a complete and total halt. Who the hell washes and folds paining drop-cloths?!?!? I'm truly at a loss here.

totm aug 2023 What funny/interesting thing happened in your life today?
LordFerret replied to Ultimate Steve's topic in The Lounge
Put on a pair of furry leggings, fashion some hooves for feet, wear some horns on your head, and go half-naked as the Greek God Pan... don't forget to bring a flute. Of course, they'll likely throw you out of school for that lol. Would also work for fursuit day. -
Usually the chat is up when the forums are down... which is were I go to check to see if it's really the forums or just me.
