I have tried to design crew transfer vehicle that can carry 6 Kerbals. It is launched on top of a rocket and lands as a glider. I am using one of my proven launchers (with few fins added) for aerodynamic testing launches. When it is finished it will be launched on top of a new launcher that will use KW 5m fairings (which I still have to research). It has 2 small engines at the back for deorbit burns. I have MJ module added on top so that I can test it without risking Kerbals lives.

Jeb: Currently sitting in his office after being unable to even lift latest test plane from runway. He said something about "Where are the f****** wings?! I need more wings!" Bill: He wants to be left alone for a while at the Island airport as he crashed there trying to land a test plane on its first test flight. Bob: Waiting for his mission to launch aboard space station.

After about a week or two I finally had some time to play with my Kerbals. I haven't done much really. Just launched two rovers to mark where each end of runway is as my flags kept disappearing. Also I have designed new probe which is, depending on launcher used, capable to go to any planet. It is now in parking orbit around Kerbin waiting transfer window for Moho (I didn't want to go there again as my failure probe just crashed there last time I played, but it was 1st window coming so...) Also, I have finished designing Service Module2 for my station as well as new cargo module to store all life support and new updated Service Module1 which will replace the one that is already docked to the station. After that I spent some time playing with plane designs. I plan to make an SSTO plane, but I still have to first design plane that can land safely. Also, I have started to organize new install of KSP with different mods, based around Interstellar mod.

What's the funniest thing you've seen/heard a new player do in KSP?
Cuky replied to physicsnerd's topic in KSP1 Discussion
First time I went to Minmus I was in quite low orbit (don't remember exact height but it was between 5 and 8 thousand meters; didn't try to land that time around) and I was just executing my maneuver node to return my brave Kerbal back home. Burn was done flawlessly but when I time-accelerated I saw, to my shock, that craft was going straight to the Minmus surface with not enough fuel to save spacecraft or poor Kerbal. From that mission on I start from higher orbits, especially when I am around the body that has smaller size and lower gravity. I also check and double-check that my maneuver won't take me on a one-way trip to the surface. -
I build my stations to have something to meet with in orbit. Also, while building my current station in 340km polar orbit I have learned to launch my rockets much more efficient. When I started with this station I needed to use one large stage, one smaller stage and 2 LFO boosters (same as first stage) to get my station modules into orbit. Now, I run those boosters at just about half of fuel capacity and I had reduced the size of second stage by half. I think there is still room for improvement and I think I will soon be able to change those 2 LFO boosters with few small SRB's. All parts are 3,75m with 3,75m extended fairing from KW, or inline 3,75m fairing if module is a bit narrower.

haven't done anything in last 2-3 days. I had an exam at the university today and I have one tomorrow. If I pass them both I will get my bachelor's degree in computer science

all of the "original 3" are at office jobs in my career. It would be stupid to loose any one of those legends in some bizarre accident testing new launch vehicle or something.

After launching core module for my Kerbin Station today I had launched two more modules - Service Module and Docking Module. All that is been done while waiting for Moho probe to enter Moho SOI. After those 2 modules were launched first 3-Kerbal (Dercan, Dudrick, Ansted) crew launched to the station. They will wait for supply ship to arrive with lifesupport supplies and space to store and deorbit unnecessary pieces from the station (few solar panels that were placed on to keep station alive while service module was on its way and RCS thrusters that were used to dock new modules to the core).

I haven't done much today: - again one correction burn with my Moho probe. It is my first interplanetary trip and it is harder than I had thought by watching youtube videos - almost finished the design for my stations service and docking modules - raised my stations core module from 260x260km orbit into 340x340km orbit and took a screenshot of it after orbit maneuvering stage was discarded and deorbited

- I have finished almost catastrophic mission to the Mun. Ship was just too badly designed and I had to cut the mission short. One of 7 Kerbals lost his life in that mission, but it brought back about 700 science. - I have terminated Sun probe which was on the mission to gather near sun science. It ran out of fuel and periapsis was too high so I had no use of it anymore - I have made a correction burn with my Moho probe which is now on its way to enter Moho's SOI and try to land on the surface - I have launched core module of my new space station. It was first planed to build the station using KSO Phase 2 parts, but I run into memory problems so I had to delete KSO. Now I have unlocked Fustek parts in my tech tree so station will be built using them. - I have started to build Duna probe. I usually tend to overdesign my probes which are in the end quite heavy, unstable and short on fuel. I will try to make this one as small as possible.

Jeb went to the Minmus to visit 4 biomes Sadly due to my his error he blew off landing legs and one experiment bay during 3rd landing and mission had to be canceled.

Moho window is coming in about 20 days so I am preparing a lander probe for that occasion. As it is coming out much heavier than I had planned at first that necessitated more powerful launch vehicle than anything I had built so far in my career. So this is a result, somewhat copying Delta IV Heavy Plan was to have upper stage in 3,75 meters like first stage, but I don't have any 3,75m fairings yet so I decided to go with aesthetics and I made 2,5m upper stage with 2,5m expanded fairing

Scott Manley and Bob Fitch are my favorites. Because of Scott I have stumbled upon KSP while Bob's storytelling and attention to detail just amaze me

I just today went out of Kerbin SOI for the first time. My unmanned probe is going to orbit the Sun with very low periapsis so I can take some science data from there. I am now close to my Moho window where I will send an unmanned lander to gather some science from there. I had the technology for trips out of Kerbin SOI for quite some time now, but I just wasn't brave enough.

I flew very little today as most of my time ingame was spent in VAB refining my design for new station in Kerbin orbit. I hav also spent some time in hangar working on design for my science plane designed to carry experiments stored in cargo bay. Smaller version can visit 4 biomes in one flight, larger version is designed to visit 8 biomes. Plane, especially larger one, flies pretty well but taking off is really hard which might be due to small control surfaces. I had two partially successful flights, one crashed into runway on landing while other one landed into the sea with cockpit and pilot intact.

I have decommissioned my two stations: Learning Space Station (LSS) which was in Kerbin orbit (226x224 km equatorial orbit) that was used to practice rendezvous and docking. After about 100 days in orbit food, water and oxygen were depleted so last crew left her and it was deorbited. She will be replaced with new and larger SSC (Space Station Complex) which will be assembled in 250x250km orbit with planned 7 launches to complete the assembly. LSS was launched complete in 1 launch. Minmus Science Station (MSS) was in 20x20km polar orbit around Minmus but I had some glitches with it. It was decommissioned after jus 1/4 of its planned life but will be replaced by MSS2 and will be equipped with MinLander Mk2 which I am currently designing to replace MinLander.

I have sent a science station in polar orbit around Minmus (power module from KSO + stock lab + 5 docking ports and few solar panels). Than I sent lander and crew capsule to the station in Apollo-like configuration. Lander docked to the station with no problem, while crew capsule run out of mono...I managed to dock it to the station thanks to Smart A.S.S. and gentle use of throttle. Sorry for no pics, KSP decides to crash when I take SS.

Rescued Newrigh Kerman who I stranded in Mun orbit in the morning
-
I stranded one of my Kerbals in Mun orbit after mission to land my first Kerbal (in this save) on Mun. I have used the same lander/return craft as in my Minmus mission, but with larger transfer stage because previous dedign didnt have enough fuel to slow down for Mun orbit, land and than return. Everything was going as planned up to the landing phase. I used my transfer stage to deorbit and slow below 100m/s. Than I detached that transfer stage, deployed landing legs and turned on the lights. Next step was to activate the engine but my staging was mixed up and I threw away landing stage. I managed to land with my return stage, gather some science and bring him up into orbit. There is still some fuel left which will be used to deorbit that craft back to the Mun once rescue is completed.

I was searching for footage of NASA Apollo/Space Shuttle documentaries and one of recommended videos was Scott Manley's Interstellar Quest Ep. 1. Back then series was about 10-15 episodes long, I watched them all in one day and it got me interested in KSP.

after trying the demo for a while and than trying pirated version a bit to see how my aging PC wold handle it all with mods I have bought the full game on Steam.
