I'm being an astronaut I just bought a white painter's suit and taped NASA paraphernalia to it. For the backpack, I spray-painted a cardboard box and duct-taped it to the painter's suit.

I didn't have time to watch most of it, but the launch scene was epic!

I tried installing the bare minimum and used -force-d3d11, but now it crashes just before the main menu screen. I'm considering holding off experimenting with EVE until 1.1 comes out, since KSP will be able to use more ram. P.S. There are no other mods installed besides EVE, so memory-gobbling part packs aren't a problem. Thanks anyway for your help so far

I've been trying to get Environmental Visual Enhancements to work on my computer, but no matter what I do, it just doesn't want to cooperate. The only thing that works is the lowest resolution texture pack available. Anything higher and the game crashes a few seconds after it starts loading. Glad you're OK. Once when I was riding in a school bus, we hit a patch of ice just as the car in front of us stopped. Needless to say, the bus rear-ended the car. Nobody on the bus was hurt, but the guy in the car walked out holding the back of his neck, like he had gotten whiplash or something.

Once I had a dream where I was launched to the ISS aboard a Soyuz spacecraft, and did all sorts of experiments on the station, as well as floating around in zero-g. When I woke up, I felt like I was being squished into the bed.

The spacecraft hovered over the dark side of the planet, seemingly called "Earth" by its inhabitants. The being aboard were running routine experiments, when a bright orange light flashed on the surface,starkly contrasting with the night that surrounded it. As the aliens watched, the light rose further and further above the planets surface. Seriously, though, this video is awesome. From 0:46 to 1:00, you can see mach effects on the tail, especially around 0:55.

I saw it as it flew over at 20:46 EDT tonight. At first I thought it might be a high-flying airplane, because I had never seen the ISS fly over before. I checked heavens-above.com, and sure enough, it was the space station. It amazes me to think that that small dot racing across the sky is in fact traveling at 17,500 mph (~28000 kph) carrying human beings.

I think spiders are creepy, but I also think they are amazing because of the fact that they spin their webs with a material stronger than steel, and the webs themselves are very intricate. I don't think I dislike any of the spiders I come in contact with on a regular basis, but I never want to see a spider more than 2" across in person.

Last I knew, Ferram Aerospace had a window that would let you change the reading on the navball from m/s to many other popular speed readouts. However, if you don't want FAR, it would be fairly easy to put together a mod to do that. I'll make it my next project. Also: 1 m/s = 2.24 mph = 3.6 kph

I cannot make a spaceplane. I've tried everything from strapping MOAR BOOSTERS to the thing to meticulously aligning the CoM & CoL. The closest I ever got had Rockomax Jumbo-64 LFO boosters in 4x radial symmetry mode attached to the side, similar to one of the spaceplanes made by Scott Manley in his Interstellar Quest. It made it into LKO, but was incredibly hard to maneuver.
