Today, I sent a probe to Jool (in Sandbox mode.) It was my first *semi*successful mission to Jool. I visited Laythe and Vall twice, and Tylo and Pol. I ran out of fuel before I got to Bop. The probe's life ended with a spectacular sundive.

Granted. It is so powerful that when you plug it in, in shorts out the entire electrical system within a 300 mile radius. I wish for a 9-volt battery.

Convert ship to be counted as one part

You can try UbioZur Welding, but it might not work in 1.0.x. -
What is your favorite "I did it!" Moment?
livefree75 replied to Sgt.Shutesie's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Definitely my first orbit without MechJeb. It was a polar orbit, which I proceeded to launch myself into many times because 1) I was very excited, and 2) I didn't know how to do an equatorial orbit. Another big moment for me was my first rendezvous. I got the two spacecraft 200-100m apart. I was using the demo, and the experience made me want to buy the game more so I could use docking ports. -
Here's a famous quote: "He who can get his ship into orbit is halfway to anywhere." That being said, your first rockets should probably be orbiters. After that, you will probably want to try landing on another world. I recommend landing on Minmus first because although it is further out from kerbin, it requires less delta-v (rocket power) to land on and return. You might already know this, but one of the best players of KSP is on YouTube: Scott Manley. A final note: The game might seem intimidating at first, but is easy and fun to learn. It even comes with some tutorials! I bought the game only about a year ago, and now I can say I've made round trips to the Mun, Minmus, and Duna! I hope this post helped you. Happy landings! EDIT: If you want to plan your missions without just winging it (pun intended), Kerbal Engineer Redux is an awesome mod. It automatically tells you how much delta-v your spacecraft has, so you don't run out of fuel or overpower the craft. A diagram displaying the amount of delta-v needed to travel to any destination in the Kerbol system can be found here.

1. To orbit, go up. 2. Spaceplanes are easy. 3. Docking is an art reserved for the most experienced KSPers. 4. Fuel tanks can't be stacked. I would also do science experiments, keep the data, reset the experiment, and do it again in a different situation, thinking my science from the other experiments was stored. This went on until 1.0.

Hi, I have a couple of questions about light: 1. How do redshift and blueshift work? I always thought it was due to the Doppler effect, in which the speed of sound or some other wave changes relative to you, and you perceive a different frequency. The question is, how does this work if the speed of light is always 186,000 miles per second, no matter what speed you're traveling at? 2. If two light beams are approaching each other at 186,000 miles per second, wouldn't the distance be decreasing by 372,000 miles per second? That violates relativity...or does it? Thanks! EDIT: 186,000 miles per second =~ 299,338 km/s

Quick question... i have a 32 bit computer, is there a 32-bit version of MATLAB that will work with KSP TOT?

Why are you using Vista, windows_vista?

Get a sugar/KNO3 rocket to the Moon and back.
-
Should I try it myself? 1. Launch from Kerbin in single rocket 2. Eve gravity assist to Jool 3. Spacecraft executes a free return trajectory around Jool and sundives 4. Another Eve gravity assist to return to Kerbin 5. Extra points if Kerbal survives Not sure if this would work, might have to wait a very long time for correct planetary configuration

One thing I love about KSP is the educational value of the game. A year and a half ago, I was launching rockets straight up and wondering why they didn't get into orbit. Now, I have enough knowledge about orbital mechanics to complete a lunar transfer in Orbiter. In KSP I have landed on Duna, and have been in orbit of Eve and Jool. I must say, the graphics are amazing! Also EXPLOSIONS

What did you name your first rocket?
livefree75 replied to Spacewalking on Sunshine's topic in KSP1 Discussion
It was either Kerbal 11 or Untitled Space Craft. -
Around 1 min with stock game, about 1.5-2 mins with KW Rocketry and a couple other mods. I have 4 GB ram (not sure of other system specs.) I have noticed that, since the release of 1.0, loading time was decreased dramatically for me.

It's true. We are Human Space Program.

Hopefully this works, sorry for the trouble.

I used to play roblox a few years ago. I lost interest over time as the games grew more and more boring/repetitive, and the website kept being updated to increasingly more difficult-to use interfaces, in my opinion. My media time is now replaced by KSP, Minecraft, and astronomy/physics related games. My younger siblings still enjoy roblox though, but I think they will lose interest after a couple of years. Also, again in my opinion, the chat really needs to be refined. People will tweak profane language so it makes it through the filter. Just needed to vent a little.

"If we have the whole Earth to explore, why go to space?" Sad. Just sad. -

Interesting you mentioned that; I just posted a picture I took of Venus in daylight: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/126341-I-saw-Venus-in-the-daytime-today

Here's a McBicoupler. Can I get a 5-piece chicken nugget?
