I was gonna report some balance issued but changed my mind when I saw JRA had a new tournament, so gonna use that to my advantage XD.

Air Superiority Fighter Competition Continued
goduranus replied to exbyde's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Whoo new dogfight thread, I send in my F-18, it is designed before November 14, 2017 but I just modified it today to account for BDAc 1.0.0 changes. https://kerbalx.com/goduranus/F-18C-Hornet -
VAB horizontal landing challenge
goduranus replied to goduranus's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Adding the scores, @AeroGav's top speed for scoring will be only 1420 because as he used rockets after this. -
Sorry guy I saw your message about a new dev version coming out, but I haven't played KSP for a couple of days so haven't tested the infinite fuel fix.

The OTech Track Attack Challenge
goduranus replied to DarkOwl57's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
@DarkOwl57 why not let us post screenshots and clock the track time ourselves? You seem quite busy, this'd save you a lot of time.- 126 replies

That is an engine indeed, albeit text edited to make its own fuel. There was a previous version that flies by taking advantage of collision boxes and air friction errors but it doesn't work since they patched it.
-
That's not an entry. Brachistochrone transfers isn't practical with stock KSP. Need the mod with high physical time acceleration or run KSP for weeks.

A revisit of my previous Kraken Drive fairing flying saucer, re-equipped with infinite fuel engines. It's loaded with science equipment, which are all activated with action group 0. It's got a walkable interior that your kerbals can stretch their legs in. While supposedly it has artificial gravity generated by thrust, the game doesn’t understand it so if kerbals are in the craft interior while the craft is flying they’ll just bounce around on the inside. https://kerbalx.com/goduranus/Flying-Saucer

Agree with the above as well, except that the ability to glide is sensible, as in atmosphere the heat and sound of the engine reflected off the ground may damage your craft, so horizontal landing would cause the least maintenance demand. Elite pilots like Jeb can only take 6.7Gs sustained, while tourists will pass out at as low as 4.3G.

Or just a screenshot of all the cars that were tested that didn't have a screenshot in the thread lined up in one place.- 126 replies

I wish you posted screenshots of cars that weren't submitted in this thread. We see exciting readouts but don't know what the car that clocked the times look like.- 126 replies

Got a torchship that doesn't need cheat mode. So technically satisfies the fuel without cheat mode requirement. Space bar to start, toggle main engines #1 and #2 with action groups 1 and 2. Though actual speedrun is too much work, because reaching Minmums without time warp takes a long time even with 8Gs of acceleration. https://kerbalx.com/goduranus/Torchship

The OTech Track Attack Challenge
goduranus replied to DarkOwl57's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Now a light kar, no inspiration, six wheels of functionality. Powered by fuel cell and has a cow catcher to absorb impacts and keep parts from exploding from inevitable collisions. Perfectly tuned steering gives it a natural cornering feel, and balanced weight distribution lets it keep all six wheels on the ground. Top speed with 43.8m/s without kerbal and 42.1m/s with kerbal. https://kerbalx.com/goduranus/Race-Litekar-goduranus And a jet light kar which looks almost the same, note jetflap is linked to throttle and not brakes, so jet is off unless you press W. https://kerbalx.com/goduranus/Race-Jetlitekar-goduranus- 126 replies

Got a kart. Comes with a detachable copula for the racer to wait for the race to start. Size in VAB is 5.3m long, but if you remove the copula it actually says 3.5m. https://kerbalx.com/goduranus/Race-Kart-goduranus- 126 replies

Cool, I started an issue on Github for the missile fuel burn request. Also, why did you take away the Wing Command controls on the Weapons Manager? I was using it to spread out my planes so they don't crash into each other while flying to the competition mode waypoint.

This is actually true. I've been trying to not use the computer after 8 so I can sleep better. It's the blue light from the screens. Not all screens will disrupt your sleep though.- 126 replies

Could you guys make it so that missiles have fuel? So that they get lighter and more maneuverable as they burn like real missiles do.

Bah, kraken drives are uncontrollable now since parts of the same craft won't collide with each other any more, you have to trap a separated craft and keep in a cage but it often jumps out. This thing is no kraken drive but it does the same thing, gives you deltaV without having to use the cheat menu. On The Expanse, I highly recommend people watch it. Adam Savage and Scott Manley both like the show. Here's a clip and a Scott Manley video on it

The craft is a combination of High G acceleration and infinite burn time, making it able to get anywhere within the Kerbol system in a hurry, or be used with drives on to simulate gravity for the crew. It uses rocket engines with negative thrust percentage to generate its own fuel and oxidizer on the fly, so fuel never runs out. This particular craft has two Spider engines with thrust percentage set to -100000 to generate fuel at 1000 times of its burn rate. This is done by editing the craft file with the text editor, finding the relevant engines, then change the thrust percentage to the desired number. Also make sure you change all the engines that are in its symmetry group, or the craft will spin out of control. If the craft were heavier and your crew fail to pass out, you can always increase the thrust percentage of the main drive to 10000 or some other big number to make sure that they do.

Huh? How are you confused? The name is from the popular TV series, The Expanse, don't tell me you haven't seen it. The Epstein drive is a drive with almost infinite deltaV, so much deltaV that crews keep their drives on though voyages and use the acceleration as artificial gravity. On the first test run of the Epstein drive the crew passed out from the Gs' and the drive kept running, and the guy was never seen again. This in game version generates its own fuel, and if you lose control it will keep running until your computer crashes. Here's a trailer from The Expanse

New game exploiting propulsion system found, move aside, kraken drive! Inspired by the Epstein Yacht from the Expanse TV series, this is a technology demonstration ship capable of crew crushing acceleration and nearly unlimited deltaV. Careful now, the Gs will make your Kerbals pass out, and you won't get controls back until the next solar system. Equipped with self-regenerating fuel systems for near infinite deltaV, a base for anyone who wants to build the Rocinante. https://kerbalx.com/goduranus/Epstein-Drive-Test

The craft is made by text editing the craft file, and setting the engine to have negative thrust percentage, so that it spits out fuel and air as it runs. But all components are stock, in that no mods are needed.

All stock jet powered plane that works on Eve, Jool, and Duna. What sorcery is this!! https://kerbalx.com/goduranus/Eve-Jool-Duna-Jet Ignore BD Armory pieces in the first pic, mod pieces have been removed from this stock version.
