Ahhhh, of course.......[facepalm]

Me too. I wonder why they made me one

Only when a major update takes place. Did a new save with 0.24 and 0.90. I'll probably do another for 1.0 and I think that'll be the last one.

[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18
bdito replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Same as every other mod. Just put the FerramAerospaceResearch folder inside your GameData folder along with ModuleManager. Just make sure you remove any old versions of it before you put in the new one. EDIT: I just noticed you're trying to use an older version of FAR. Not sure how that one will work with .90. I don't think it's compatible but someone else can clarify that.- 14,073 replies

Are you playing sandbox or career? If career, have you unlocked the RT parts in the tech tree? A command pod alone won't do anything unless you're just sitting on the launch pad. What antennas are you using?
-
I don't know. I'd assume you were talking about the structural fuselage but if that's not it then take a look here: http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Parts It's a list of all stock parts. Click on any part and it will show you where it is on the tech tree.

Most foolish thing you heard in movie or tv series ? :-)
bdito replied to Pawelk198604's topic in The Lounge
Pretty much everything in the first GI Joe movie. If it wasn't the writing it was stuff like sinking ice, fireballs underwater, nanobots that can magically multiply, etc. I'm all for the willing suspension of disbelief but this movie went full r3tard. -
One of my favourite movies. What the hell am I looking at? When does this happen in the movie? Now. You're looking at now, sir. Everything that happens now, is happening now.

What was the First thing you did when you got KSP?
bdito replied to michaelsteele3's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Tried to launch a rocket, didn't know what the heck I was doing so I searched for a tutorial and found Scott Manley. -
Should SQUAD post all KSP announcements on the official forum?
bdito replied to Yakuzi's topic in KSP1 Discussion
After reading through this thread a bit more I agree with the idea that things should be posted everywhere at the same time. I dont know what would be the best way to implement it but it would keep news from being fractured and difficult to follow. -
- - - Updated - - - I loved that game. I could never remember what its name was though. Now I do

Should SQUAD post all KSP announcements on the official forum?
bdito replied to Yakuzi's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Absolutely. Look at the main webpage. If you go to the community heading all it lists is the wiki, the forum, and curse. They don't even mention their twitter accounts or anything else. A little icon in the top left corner of the screen is easily missed and quite insufficient if that's where they're going to post a lot of their latest information. -

[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18
bdito replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Why does anything need to be done about it? It's just a minor spelling preference.- 14,073 replies

I believe you have to manually open the antenna and have a connection for it to work. It won't automatically open up the antenna, transmit the data, and then close the antenna like the stock game does.

For example, I have 4 sats around kerbin in an equitorial orbit. They all have 1 communitron 32, 2 DTS M1's (one pointing to the mun and one to minimus). I also have 2 in a polar orbit and they are my long-range comm sats. They have 1 communitron 32, 1 DTS M1, 2 Commtech 1's, and 2 communotron 88-88's.
-
If you want to connect to the mun, you would make your kerbin comm sats with both omni's and a dish. The omnis would be used to connect to each other and mission control, and you'd point the dish towards the mun. Then anything around the mun will connect to it as long as it has a dish pointing towards kerbin. If you point a dish towards a planet it will always track the planet's position so you don't have to worry about it leaving the field of view.
-
Are these 3 sats all orbiting kerbin? If so you should connect them using omni antennas. I always go with the Communitron 32 due to it's greater range. Omni's are necessary because they can connect to anything within their range without needing to point them at anything. You should only use dishes when pointing towards other moons & planets or vessels outside of kerbin's SOI.

It's part of the Station Science mod. I just looked at the mods thread. It says: This mod also adds a new "prototype" Attach-O-Tron docking port. This port is placed early in the tech tree (same node as struts) to facilitate building space stations early on, but has several limitations. The most important is that it does not permit fuel transfer of any kind. Even manual pumping cannot pass through the Attach-O-Tron. It also has more mass and bulk, less strength than the standard Clamp-O-Tron, and can't be surface attached. It is, however, compatible with the standard Clamp-O-Tron.

There are few advantages other than aesthetics. The stock drag model doesn't change if you clip anything as drag is simply a measure of weight and each part's drag variable. It's placement does nothing to change that. The updated model will change that but we don't know exactly how it will play out. Even in FAR and NEAR, only parts in fully covered fairings or cargo bays create no drag. You can completely move a part inside a fuel tank and it will still create drag. FAR doesn't account for clipping and calculates its drag model as if the part was still in its original placement spot. Ferram has said "No, FAR doesn't account for part clipping. It's horribly complicated to deal with that kind of geometrical mess."
