  1. I believe the Stayputnik doesn't have SAS anymore though which makes it a lot less useful than it used to be. You're better off with the next one up but you don't have the science for that yet (I guess) so flying with the Stayputnik is going to be a bit challenging in the meantime.
  2. Is there a variable upper limit for these contracts? Couldn't I just do them all at, say, 30 km if all contracts are < 10 km? What about higher still? No ceiling is specified.
  3. This is a stupid question to have to post but I can't find any information by googling. I want to know about the Kerbal experience system whereby each Kosmonaut gains experience by doing impressive stuff and this improves their abilities. I'm also interested in the search string you used to find it if you use a search engine. "Kerbal experience", "Kerbal experience points", "Kerbal earn experience", none of these work. There are some threads on this forum but they don't explain it completely (like what the multipliers are for each different planet). I've got some guys orbiting the moon but they have not been given experience for it. It's a problem for me because I need the engineer to repack the parachutes which I deployed accidentally. I need to deploy them at a specific altitude to fulfil a contract.
  4. I don't know if that's the only way but it works so thanks. They should make it so you can tell without going back to the space centre!
  5. I need to send my engineer out to repack the parachutes. How am I supposed to know which is which?
  6. I, J, K and L don't do anything unless you stay in staging mode. In docking mode, press space to toggle W, A, S, D between rotation and translation per previous post. First post should say this though.
  7. Space station contracts specify a minimum number of crew that the station must support. Do the EAS-1 External Command Seats count towards that number?
  8. If you decline a contract another one pops up. I think you can just keep declining until you get something decent.
  9. I secured my lander to my main ship using struts to stop it wobbling. When the dock disengages will the struts disappear or will they stay there and prevent separation of the lander? The wobbling won't be an issue for return so it doesn't matter that I can't reconnect the struts.
  10. When I get ready to launch a craft, I wait for it to stop jiggling around on the launchpad before I start. Is that necessary? Does it affect the launch if I do it mid-jiggle?
  11. What is this 30-piece limit? My rockets have hundreds of pieces before launch.
  12. My game is no modded. Indeed, I was talking about the strategy from the administration building. What a waste of money that's been then! Thanks!
  13. If I ignite stage 2 immediately after separation of stage 1 then I hear some explosions. Does that mean I'll collect less funds from the boosters that fall to the ground? I'm using the S1 SRB-KD25k. According to the description they can be refurbished which might just be a joke but I also have the special transponders which are supposed to get me more money back from debris and such stuff, presumably if it doesn't explode during launch.
  14. Just ignore people that call you a noob. They've probably reverted many flights before they got to a point they don't need to any more. I quicksave and revert flights habitually and I'm not ashamed... in fact, I'm militant about it! Join me, brother!
  15. I guess it seems a bit silly to have a simulation of a simulation when the game is really a simulation in itself.
  16. Why does the manoeuvre marker shoot off somewhere when a manoeuvre is almost complete? What's going on? Am I meant to follow it?
  17. I don't have any mods. It is because I alt+tabbed out of KSP during loading and it is reproducible. It's a bug in the stock game. Steps to reproduce. Launch KSP. Click Start Game. Click Resume Saved. Select 'Sean' (career mode). Click Continue. Press Alt + Tab. Wait until bird song. Press Alt + Tab. End. 18. I saved my game before exiting (I didn't know that was possible and only just discovered it). When I came back to play, this was my view: I can't click on anything except that exit/menu button which lets me load/save/exit/resume. Does anyone know what's happening?
  19. Which wings/winglets can be used to increase control of rockets in launch in atmosphere? I read in another thread "winglets with control surfaces" but I can't find control surfaces mentioned anywhere in the in-game part specifications. Some of them have lift ratings but I think that's more for planes than rockets.
  20. I've spent so much time swearing at the game because of this!
  21. I have a lot of debris scattered around Kerbin. I could really do with the money from all those parts. Is there some way to recover it all without having to click on each goddamn piece and then confirm in the Tracking Station?
  22. Fine but I'd rather they didn't waste my time trying to extract meaning where there isn't any. The time they've saved themselves they've cost everyone else. I'd rather there was no explanation at all than what is presently in place.
  23. I haven't played in a few months (since an update broke my rocket). I started my game up and now there's a new feature wherein I can accept contracts from external organisations. Who wrote the explanations of those contracts? Were they put through Google Translate several times? They're unintelligible. Here's a brief example. Attempting to parse it makes me nauseous. "The company heads working at Sean's Cannery felt mostly assured about whether we were making very little progress towards finding out whether a day on Kerbin was apparently 6 hours long"
  24. I have KSP installed via Steam. I stopped playing KSP for maybe four weeks and came back to continue my career mode game. There have been some updates, one of which is the inclusion of contracts, of which I am being offered none and another a budget of which I have 10 000 units. This is clearly an oversight. I have already been to Duna and its moon and back. I can't even exit the atmosphere for 10 000 units (maybe I can but I'm not going to try because I'm past that point and wish to proceed). Is it supposed to be an austerity simulation after a global recession or have I been moved to North Korea's space program or what? Please give me funding commensurate with the science I have already gathered.
  25. The sign of a locked part is it not being available in the VAB at all....
