  1. Gannet Type-2. Now with airbrake parachutes, redesigned missile [should work now], improved bouyancy, and the ability to water-land gently enough to keep the launch engines [and their RCS cannisters], all at only the cost of speed following payload launch. Only from Veto Aerospace.
  2. This is annoying. SRBs lose most of their power when detatched.
  3. Still working on the missile. I will have to create my own propulsion SRB for it.
  4. The Veto Aerospace Gannet is a notoriously difficult machine to land on water, especially considering how important the timing of the booster-drop is - since they carry three important RCS gas tanks, without which the Gannet could run out of RCS, but with which the craft will be too heavy to land. However, this difficulty is not without its balance, which is the Gannet\'s hefty payload. Though it can be released in air, it is intended that it be used as a ranged missile against enemy shipping or marine weapons platforms. The warhead packs a punch, and the four SRBs that carry it will also detonate on impact. It is fitted with ASAS guidance, for added destructive efficiency*. Highest safe speed with payload: 7.4 m/s [sAS off] Highest safe speed with payload: 23.5 m/s [sAS on, rear flaps up] Highest safe speed without payload: 17.4 m/s [sAS off] Highest safe speed without payload: 42.3 m/s [sAS on, rear flaps down] *requires one live pigeon
  5. In answer to your bracketed rhetorical question, you just have to make an incredible looking space base - that doesn\'t crash KSP.
  6. As it turns out, it is rather less stable in orbit than the Sunbird\'s launch/orbit stage. However, for a launch/space vehicle, it works a treat.
  7. That could work. But RCS really does make landing a lot easier, especially with large craft. It leaves your engines free to stop you going in some direction too fast, while the RCS lowers you onto the Munar surface. Its how I got my Kestrel to land.
  8. You mean tailsitter-VTOL. That makes sense, but is immensely difficult with most craft larger than a munar lander. And I really mean it, those wings can\'t take any kind of strain whatsoever before breaking off.
  9. Efficiency isn\'t the point. Stability is. I like my rockets/spaceplanes not to skiff out all over the place. C7 parts also happen to look neat as boosters.
  10. Surely it would need MORE RCS!!!11!!1!1! in order to prevent it smashing into the ground and high speeds from which not even lander legs will save it? And in any case, from my experience, those wings fall off if you throw lemons at them. Let alone drop a large spacrafts on them.
  11. I use it as an ascent stage. Its biggest attraction is its stability. I don\'t so much care about the speed or longevity so long as it gets the craft up to 35Km, at which point they are jetissonned and the centre collumn takes over. A lot of that isn\'t used in the orbital burn anyway.
  12. Sunbird II launch ascent stage. Ok, this is proof that I got it out of the atmosphere, and moving quite fast in the right direction.
  13. This works very well as a launch to orbit stage. I could probably make it bigger, with stronger engines, and it would be able to carry rather more than it does. Its incredibly stable, if hard to maneuver.
  14. Less stages required. The last propellant stage isn\'t even nescersary, and will be replaced. Its also incredibly stable, if hard to maneuvre.
  15. We didn\'t start the flame war Peeps were hatin\' on it before I left my comment We didn\'t start the flame war The bronies did. Anyhoo, I\'m sure someone\'s done this already. Lets see if anyone can resist adding K to place names on their own maps.
  16. The Veto Aerospace Sunbird is an orbital insertion launch vehicle, designed to send satellites and space laborotories, or even potentially space stations, into orbit. It has successfully proved capable of delivering a Starlab research station to an orbit of Apoapsis 1460 Km, Periapsis 1314 Km. The Sunbird, with all stages bar takeoff SRBs, beginning orbital burn. The Starlab in orbit, a few minutes following the capsule detachment. Unfortunately, VA made another highly problematic design flaw, though this time perhaps not wholly their fault. The specifications provided asked that the Starlab be manned. As such, the Capsule would remain attached, though with a decoupler fitted so the the capsule might act as a lifeboat. However, it had not been fitted with thrusters or RCS, and during a testing drill it was detatched, and drifted away, leaving the Sunbird crew stranded on the Starlab.
  17. I though you were suggesting I was pressuring you to use it by posting it here in the first place.
  18. I\'m afraid that whilst all your work is, frankly brilliant, it doesn\'t adhere to the \'one spaceplane\' rule. Which means, as far as I looked, you only have one entry to the competition. You\'re still winning, though. We understand your position, and Veto Aerospace acknowleges that you made a very good decision when you chose your original supplier.
  19. Whilst Veto Aerospace would be happy to supply your army with our products, we do not affiliate ourselves with our buyers.
  20. Build as many different types of armed spaceplane as you can. You do not need to prove that they can work exoatmospherically, only that they can fly, and that they have weapons. You should use the same spaceplane each time. If you run out of weapon mods, use your imagination to make more. I have built four. I am not in the competition. Standard Sparrow. Weapons: -Kamikaze Sparrow Interceptor Weapons: -Railguns Sparrow Grenadier Weapons: -Wasp Missiles Sparrow Hunter Weapons: -SAS Target Guided Missiles
  21. Built the Grenadier variant. Equipped with four independent-launch missiles. They deploy, then fire. However, I\'m thinking of reversing that. I\'ll see if it works better. At the moment they look like guided missiles.
  22. Requires C7 and I think Jellycube\'s weapons pack. The railguns, at least. http://www./?pssc3pmqbkfc7h5 Sparrow Standard http://www./?b6ag4pj48cxykob Sparrow Interceptor http://www./?d7736gqse6yte4r Sparrow Grenadier
  23. I do like the SHADO vehicles. Though I have to admit, the Eagle looks better than their spacraft. Skydiver is just a \'DO WANT\' thing.
