A-wing Interceptor (from star wars)
Jett_Quasar replied to Snikersnee's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
This is an awesome little craft. I've downloaded it and added it to my Star Wars collection. I've modified it a bit (OK well a lot - but the look is essentially the same) and I plan on using it in a video, I hope you don't mind. I'll do it justice don't worry, and as always I will cite you as the designer. JR -

Links to all my craft files are on my showcase thread in the Spacecraft Exchange section of the forum - Click HERE to go to the page. JR -
I think I may have a problem... LOL! JR

I think the design of the X-wing fighter is pretty much set - I just need to tweak the performance, and as always it's stock. Notice the landing gear - this craft is pure VTOL just like in the movies JR

Build and Kill a Space fighter

All of my Star Wars craft are capable of getting into space in the stock game without any cheats or mods. I haven't actually shot anything down in space but it's on my list. I'm currently working on an X-wing, Y-wing, Tie bomber and N-1 that will do the same thing... JR -
Thanks, I think I'd like to do a Droid video next. JR Edit: 1-BDI was the first droid I developed (and I showed him driving around at the very end of the video) it was because he co-piloted the X-Wing fighter. I tend to design things in iterations so I'm always working on 2 or three things at a time going back and fourth. JR

Since everyone loves droids so much I've started working on a new one... It's name is I0-U1... Oh and it comes with an N-1 fighter as well. JR
-
I just finished my latest video. I'll be posting the craft files shortly - just check my showcase page on the Spacecraft Exchange in the next couple of hours. JR

Ive been going a little crazy with Star Wars replicas and I built myself a fleet of R2-D2 style astromech droids. From the left they are R2-QT, 1-BDI, Headlight, Unicycle, and BD-BDB JR

Thanks, I'm working on a companion video to the one I just released to walk through the ship designs and dogfight techniques. I'll be posting the craft files along with it JR
-
I'm finally done my Star Wars video - here it is! JR
-
I've set this page to update automagically - I've been on a bit of a Star Wars kick lately. The new movie got me started again, I'm looking forward to the DVD release. JR

I continue to work on my spacecraft...

The Falcon gets into space without Hyperedit, but I have to hack gravity to get the Medical Frigate into orbit. The way I see it, ships like that are supposed to be built in space so hacking it into orbit is one thing but once you're there it's a ship like any other. JR

I'm working on something special... Yes that is the Medical Frigate from Star Wars with the Millennium Falcon docked to it... JR

What I'm testing right now is setting up a sub-assembly that you can add to an existing craft to convert it to run on antimatter. This has been done by some of the testers (as seen in the Pirate Tech videos so far). There are some quirky physics that are associated with the tech so there needs to be specific rules that have to be followed in order to build a craft using the modded parts. I'm continuing to figure out what needs to be done in order to maintain smooth operation of the vehicle while running it on antimatter. Right now the main issue I'm encountering are control reversals and lack of stability - also the mod is very fragile and can easily be broken by doing fairly straight-forward things like looking at it (seriously, just looking at it the wrong way will irreversibly damage it - this isn't a joke as funny as it sounds). JR

I don't use any mods for my designs - the craft I create (and the videos I make with them) are all done in the stock game. I do this so that if a person wants to download my craft file there is no other requirements to make it work. That said, the Pirate Tech is a different type of mod. It comes along with the craft file so it still runs in the stock game - no additional downloads are required. I'm currently working out the bugs on the Pirate Tech mod but I will likely be releasing some craft files in the next few weeks or so. JR

A-wing Interceptor (from star wars)
Jett_Quasar replied to Snikersnee's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
The craft looks pretty sweet. I've downloaded the craft - you don't mind if I use it in a video do you? (I've already done some shots with PointySideUp's speeder and this would fit right in). JR
