Well, I was trying to do something original so hopefully I've accomplished that. Here is what I'm working on. Both the booster and shuttle land horizontally and independent of each other. It can also take a full payload to orbit at the same time. Not sure how much mass the shuttle can land with, but with an empty stall speed of 80 m/s, it's pretty stable. The booster does have a 250 m/s speed limit and can only pitch about 10 degrees away from prograde while in low atmo without cuasing to much drag on the nose and spinning out. Wondering if I should make a bigger version.

I don't know the OS X operating system, Try googling "OSX change file type". -

Well, could be that you saved them as txt files instead of craft files. -
2x gravity career mode stock challenge

I say multiple difficulties. 1.5 gravity for easy. 2.0 for Normal. and 2.5 for Hard. -
The Elon's Problem Challenge
macktruck6666 replied to Jasonden's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Currently working on this: I think the competition should require us to transport habitats. This thing can trasnport 100 kerbals with adequate living space, a skycrane/refiner vessel. It's only 550parts and 3,100 tons. -
The "Elon Problem Challenge" might get you some veiws as SpaceX reticent announcement is still recent. Ii'm doing a modified version where i send enough 100 kerbals with enough hihicker modules to house them.

The Elon's Problem Challenge
macktruck6666 replied to Jasonden's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Actually, 100 tons to mars was an old estimate. Now he wants it to transport 450 tons and eventually up to 200 passengers. -
The kerbal V-1Rocket challenge
macktruck6666 replied to jonatron5's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Umm. the v2 and v1 were controlled missiles. They were controlled primarily though timers and gyros. They would climb to a cruising altitude pitch over and cruise till their fuel or timer ran out. Then they would dive bomb into a general area they were targeting. Also the v1 didn't use a rocket engine, it used a pulse jet engine. -

As Elon would say, looks like it went through a RUD. -

[REUSEABLE ROCKET] 1 Rocket 1 Station
macktruck6666 replied to TheKSPDesigner's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I accept your challenge, but I will make everything but the payload/fairing reusable. Both first and second stage will be reusable. (although i don't know how many times for the second) -
KSP Caveman Challenge 1.1
macktruck6666 replied to Moesly_Armlis's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
So would assembling rockets near the complex that are more then 30 parts or over 18 tons be against the rule? -
The Cubesat/Probe Bulk Delivery Challenge!
macktruck6666 replied to The Optimist's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I think you misunderstood the purpose of cubesats. The purpose of cubesats is not the size of cost of the satellite but the cost and size of the launch vehicle. There needs to be a negative affect on the score for using larger rockets. Pluss, even cubsats whould need much larger rockets to be interplanetary an none of them are ever intended to land. I think a better scenario would be what SpaceX is planning to do. I once heard they were planning to put 4000 satalites in orbit to provide internet to the entire world for free. This seems more like what you're trying to accomplish. -
Well, I was going to do it until I found someone already did the Saturn version. Now i'm all out of interesting ideas. Also, need some clarification. The rules say that boosters can be attached radially to the carrier. Does that mean I can't have multiple inline stages on the carrier. Sometimes the first stage of a rocket is referred to as a booster stage with booster engines and a second stage would have abstainer engines.

Jool 500 Kolonization Challenge
macktruck6666 replied to septemberWaves's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Seriously, how am I supposed to get 500 kerbals in Career. That's 500 different rescue missions and paying for them costs to much and updates to slowly.- 171 replies

27 are engines alone. There's no way around that.

There is a series of thumbnails in the first post. If you see the logo AstroX, that is the first picture in the album. Btw, Falcon X now shows in first post. Direct link to album: http://imgur.com/a/mTM4u

Uploaded a preview of the Falcon X heavy to the album in the original post. Current part count is 50. The Falcon X heavy is based on current released information about the raptor engines. Stats are for Realism Overhaul. Falcon X expected payload to LEO 54 tons (ironically same as falcon 9 heavy). Falcon X heavy expected payload to LEO 200 tons. Reusable Falcon X heavy expected payload to LEO 130+ tons. (Equal to the SLS) (Edit: view able only on imgur)

Well, was thinking of being informative. For instance breaking the first stage into more sections. For instance "skirt"/"engine box", legs, thrust plate, LOX, RP-1 tanks, floating wall. tank adapters, engines, triple redundant processors, conduits on the outside, pneumatic actuators, cold jet thrusters, fins. I was thinking of making it compatible with RO and creating a pretty crazy challenge in combination with KOS. But I don't know now. I think they're going to fly the heavy a couple times and then immediately replace it with a single core raptor cluster and that they're going to develop another engine that is equal or greater then the F-1 engine. But that is just theory and conjecture. They were going to release information about the MCT late 2015, but that was before the launch holds due to CR-7. So I was thinking of making a couple theoretical rockets. Maybe even bring back the grasshopper, falcon 5, Falcon X, Falcon X Heavy, and the Falcon XX. (also know as the BFR)

Well, I just wasted a bunch of my time.
