  1. My goal with the Goat was to make the vehicle as tough as possible. After a few minor modifications (It's fuel cell now runs off of Liquid Fuel and Intake Air, swapping in LF only tanks and changing the bed layout) I did a test drive around the KSC. Here are some of the results: Goat vs Launchpad Goad vs Admin Building Goat vs Fuel Tanks ( this one didn't go so well) All in all I consider it a success.
  2. For my test run, I managed to kill Jeb, break 6 struts, a battery, an RTG and lose the entire front bumper. I also identified a few things I need to tweak or change with the goat - making a fuel cell that uses intake air and liquid fuel instead of the current LF/O mix would make a big difference all on its own. After 2 hours of driving, several rollovers ( one at 50m/s down a mountain) I made it all in one run, with the same vehicle. All of the parts are stock except for the tubes. I also discovered that Kerbals need seatbelts. No fun at all chasing your rover on foot after getting thrown. I figure with a few changes i could better my time by at least 20 minutes, probably more. Notice the amount of electric charge and fuel left? Darkness doesn't help either.
  3. It uses fuel cells to recharge the batteries, but the only motive force is from the wheels. It is capable of self-righting from roll-overs and shrugs off collision at less than 40 m/s. Ill try running one of the legs this weekend.
  4. Well, you get to put up with the weird shakiness because of the "stabilization" I tried, t make me feel like I have motion sickness, but here ya go.
  5. Thanks. I have decided to see how far I can fling something with no wings though. Updates soon.
  6. Looks like about 665 meters on my 3rd attempt. I am sure I could tweak this quite a bit for better results.
  7. I know the B9 Procedural wings are a bit flaky still as well, but there are a couple work-arounds
  8. On a related note, are the Bad T engines updated as of yet? I feel a strong urge for some 1.1 dogfight goodness.
  9. These were my first FAR craft, so I sort of expected to have issues. Fortunately I have learned a lot and the craft I have been making recently have been much more successful. Seeing the design of the arenas, and the elevations the battles are taking place will help as well. I am looking forward to the next tournament to see if I can do a bit better.
  10. Whelp, I just submitted my first FAR based craft - after only 27 revisions! A 95 point light fighter. Coincidentally this is also the first time I have used FAR, so thanks for the reason to finally start learning the ins and outs of it.
  11. I can view them in either 1080 or 720, so it seems that all is well.
  12. Well, crap. That is a left over battery from Firespitter. I thought I had pulled those parts.
  13. Here is the long range modified Wyvern. I removed a couple missiles, changed the cannons a bit and added a couple drop tanks (which it probably didn't need).
  14. Well, I have no idea what is invalid with the Salamander. I may have to reduce the altitude of the rainmaker, which is odd as it worked for me. I wonder if the lack of a radome has anything to do with it?
  15. I enjoy this challenge enough that I have two more craft for it if you want to try them. I do feel they are both somewhat abusive however. The Rainmaker II The Salamander
  16. There is aton of reserve fuel space in those wings on the Wyvern. Unless it goes an extremely long way, it should be okay if I fill them up.
