  1. Awesome Ariane! Want to play with it already! Meanwhile in NSA: Valentina is truly a Bad-S pilot and today surpassed Jeb in skills. While Jeb and Bill were relaxing on a first 1.0 "Mir", she was supposed to pilot the first manned Buran mission. But it seemed that "Kristall" module was too heavy and generated too much angular momentum. Energia started to tip on Buran's side, and, at 12km Val decided to decouple the shuttle from the rocket. But one of the boosters struck on an aerodynamic surface, leading to its failure, generating a very strong torque and ultimately leading to stall. To counter that, Val dropped "Kristall" module away, opened drogue chutes, which stabilized the craft and ignited the OMS engines to negate the speed loss. Finally, she went on a nice reentry trajectory and landed Buran without a scratch. She is going to be awarded the Hero of Kerbiet Union for such bravery! EDIT: Same crew piloted an update Buran. Results? This beauty!
  2. Yay, looks like new hotfix brought some tweaks to the parachutes! More experiments!
  3. My Soyuz 1-2 missions. Soyuz 1: crew on start: Jeb and Bill, crew on landing: Valentina and Bill Soyuz 2: crew on start: Valentina, crew on landing: Jeb Due to a malfunction (I forgot to reduce the heat production of Tantares service module, if you launch the engine ablation will start burning, reduce please to ~100 in the next fix), Soyuz-2 flew only for several orbits, while Soyuz-1 performed a day-long mission and both returned safely. Also, if you install Wayfarer radial engines as verniers, you'll get good thrust on Tavio-core.
  4. Yep, it's the new ablation effect, it wasn't my purpose but accidentaly I made that
  5. I totally forgot to add a specific "way-around" I've found only today to them. >.< But they're only half-measures, something else might be needed.
  6. Mostly compatible: Tantares v23 TantaresLV v8 What doesn't work: most of parachutes, some engine ISP curves don't have third key yet, small non-1.0-related bugs.
  7. Try deleting the partdabase.cfg in your root KSP folder, it will cause a rebuild. It might take some time to understand why new drag cubes are generated one way or another. It might require changing models, since the cubes are generated from them.
  8. Third key indicates the curve prolongation for pressures more than 1 atmosphere And I don't think many people will take-off from Eve or Jool's atmosphere soon, so I'd add them later (it was a kind of rushed release with time limited). EDIT: First Vostok for first release! :3
  9. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4p9v62uwdxucu2r/Tantares-TLV-1.0-ready.zip?dl=0 My unofficial 1.0 update (while Beale hasn't made official)! Some small issues are present, but stuff is rebalanced according to New Stock.
  10. Well, some news for you, guys. The new Roskosmos budget for 2015-2025 was formed and... well, there are bad and good news. Bad news: the interplanetary electric tug was delayed, or, probably, cancelled. Shame, because it's the only really unique Russian project, which would offer some cool stuff for international cooperation basis. Good news: a heavier version of Angara are approved for creating, PTK NP (the PPTS) will be on the list, Fobos-Grunt will be back under the name of "Expedition-M" or "Mars-Grunt", a new Methane-propelled rocket to be made. But no Moon Landing soon, the lander budget was cut to delay it. EDIT: The tug itself
  11. Thanks! I'm using DangIt with Entropy hardcore config set, so that I'll get a real challenge for complex missions. :3
  12. A small addendum to the "Avrora", the ship itself and first expedition on a Pauk-P with the international crew: Jeb, Bill and Bob from Kerbal States and Abram, Iosif and Valentin from Kerbiet Union. Their goal was to test life support mechanisms from Thunder Aerospace and repairing a broken battery on the command module of the propulsion block.
  13. I vote for beige tank! Otherwise it won't be much different from those generic stockalike tanks and could be confused probably with ALV ones.
  14. Hey-hey, nice Ariane V, Beale! I wanted it for quite a long time, glad you decided to make it. :3 And one more post about my interplanetary ship project now it has a name, "Avrora". This time, I have established a com network, consisting of 4 "Pochtalyon" (Mailman) and 1 "Mayak" (Lighthouse), which was really unfortunate: first launch (4x"Pochtalyon") had one satellite's fuel tank leaking, meaning that it won't be able to fix its orbit if something goes wrong, and then, Block D batteries died, meaning that it and 2 other satellites are left unactivated as debris. The second launch (also 4x"Pochtalyon") was more successful, this time, I was able to deploy all four satellites, leaving two of them on 2Mm x 2Mm orbit in case I'll need reserve, but Block D suffered a monoprop tank leak, but there was enough reaction wheel power for it to operate properly Third launch brought Mayak to polar 87 degrees orbit with a 3h period without any problem, so we are good and will have Internet on Eve So, that's all preparation work, now it's time for making the ship itself!
  15. Thanks! No, the thing is just from my head for my interplanetary operations
  16. Haven't posted my ships for a while... So, I decided to have fun with modern-like ships and missions, so, the fist one of my "Pauk" (Spider) series of crew transport ships, the "Pauk-T" (Transportnyy, Cargo ship): There will be two more crafts, Pauk-L (Lyoghkiy, Light): no radial fuel tanks, no cargo, probably no solar panels; and Pauk-P (Prodolzhitelnost', Prolongated): more life support (TACLS), radial fuel tanks, solar panels.
  17. I love those little RCS tanks, like those that were on Molniya satellites and, I think, Venera/Mars probes.
  18. I'm a cybernetic organism. Living tissue over a metal endoskeleton. EDIT:
  19. >óûуÿыù I love the new textures!
  20. If you hasn't reached Voskhod yet. And if already reached, there is a 50% chance to screw Voskhod ships. It's in comparison with 0.3
