  1. I forgot the parachutes on my second Duna mission. And I didn't notice until I overdid my aerobraking a bit too much.
  2. He's around 80 days old, trying to get science back to Kerbin by "getting out and pushing"
  3. And I used to think my stuff (which is way smaller than this foot) was a bit too big. Dear kraken...
  4. I've made a plane with the few aerodynamic parts I've been able to unlock and I've sent it to the Runway island. Despite the thing being almost impossible to control without SAS, it managed to land in one piece:
  5. I bet an SRB that the question is somehow related to the Kraken(s)
  6. If I can send a sacrifice Kerbal near the rock, I won't send a probe. As bsalis says, sometimes you have to get out and push
  7. I'd like to see them balanced for career mode (I think that some of them, like the new SRB, are unlocked a bit too early), but since career mode isn't complete yet I'm not sure what will balanced in career mode be in the future. So I'd rather wait for SQUAD to add more stuff into career mode before them to balance the tree.
  8. As a wise man once said, "Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time". And I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy this 30 minutes a lot when I get back home!
  9. I once pulled off a rescue the old way (Send a lander can with tons of RCS and stairs attached all over it, maneuver until you're near him and hope the victim kerbal will get close enough to any of the staircases so that he'll be able to grab). It's a very long mission, but it is very rewarding once you get the guy in the ship. However, I did that long before The Claw was added. If I had to do that again, I'd grab him for sure!
  10. The new SRB is awesome. It works fery well for being an SRB, and the fact that you can unlock it quite soon in Career mode is quite helpful for sending stuff up into orbit. Also, the new engines and the big parts look very nice! Can't wait to unlock them!
  11. You mean you can limit their thrust mid-flight or you can only tweak them at the VAB?
  12. Nice job! The unmanned modules with extra parachutes are a really smart idea, I'm totally borrowing it for my asteroid deorbiter
  13. Probably the devs testing EVA before releasing 0.15
  14. Even if I fail, I'll try to land an asteroid at the VAB roof
  15. Looks like an interesting challenge. I'll give it a try as soon as I get home! That's the kerbal way. Why use only 30 tons when you can use 50?
  16. It took me a few quicksaves, a few hours and a lot of swearing (specially when the lab ran out of RCS), but it was totally worth it. The whole maneuver took at least one hour IRL, and I still keep a link to the album as a memento: <iframe class="imgur-album" width="100%" height="550" frameborder="0" src="http://imgur.com/a/vNWr3/embed"></iframe> After docking, I felt like a lot of possibilities opened in front of me, and I've started building bigger. I've already
  17. "That was the worst lander ever. Of all time" - Me, after the Duna-I incident.
  18. Nice picture! I don't know why, but their facial expressions (one of them is scared, one of them has a huge grin on his face and one of them doesn't seem to care at all) kinda remind me of Jeb, Bill and Bob.
  19. My plan was more or less along this lines. However, if you don't want to wait until the ARM update, improvise a claw with some landing legs and go for it
  20. This ship looks really good! Where are you planning to take it?
  21. Could you post some pictures of the craft? I've got a few ideas (all of them quite crazy and with a very low chance of success) from my previous attempts of fixing minor design flaws.
  22. Recreating certain Toy Story scene involving some green tiny aliens and The Claaaaaaaaw.
  23. Danny has uploaded a video featuring The Claw and the new parts. Check it out!
  24. Right now, he's on the Duna Express on his way back to Kerbin. Despite being one of the worst missions I've done in a very long time, Jebediah looked like he was having the time of his life.
