  1. I think he means with where the ground docking ports will be, That will restrain your crafts to match said docking port, With upgrading facilities the port may change location which could invalidate your previous crafts
  2. that is balancing on its tip with the CoM above the contact point, when the reaction wheel gets saturated it can tip in the other direction and desaturate it
  3. Also if you put the CoL far behind the CoM for a atmospheric plane then angle the horizontal stabilizer down a bit (so they provide negative lift) This means that when the plane speeds up it will pitch up and when it slows down it will pitch down. So it will self stabilize a bit.
  4. You can imitate windtunnel using hack gravity and inf. fuel to get to the altitude and then just fly After that using some mods to enable CoM and COL and CoD indicators and a total drag display
  5. linux is an entirely different build of unity that isn't unstable in 64bit probably because mono isn't supported for win64
  6. A PS3 sixaxis controller has 10 (the sixaxis motion control + 2 sticks) plus 2 analog shoulder buttons
  7. Why not have pre-set stackable fairing "cans" like one use cargo bays that you have to build everything in, then using the new cargo shielding setup decide the aerodynamics. (then stage/eject outside the atmo) That way fairings aren't procedural but still you can still lengthen them, You are just limited to the diameter of what you put in it.
  8. or check task manager, 32 bit applications have a "*32" after the binary name so you'll either see "KSP.exe *32" or "ksp_x64.exe"
  9. there i still the trademark issue of the name which is independent of the copyright of the code
  10. Looking at what happens with the requests I see the following: browser makes a request to http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/.../page51?t=<threadID>&page=25 then server replies with a 301 moved permanently and strips everything after the ? for the location header so either the form's action must be changed to a page that will honor the get params or the server must actually honor the page parameter when sending the 301 (or use a onsubmit script to replace the page number in the form's action attribute with the filled in value)
  11. retro or prograde makes no actual difference in the orbital mechanics, intercepting bodies in the other grade is a bit tricky but as long as you stay out of the atmosphere there is no difference (and even then it's only a difference in the airspeed during aero capture)
  12. The jump to page under the "page # of #" box is bugged. no matter what you input in the text box it will always go to the last link in the number list. So when on a page with the following it will always go to page 51 instead of the filled in 25
  13. a few points I have to make: 1. people don't like being led around to a scavenger hunt they didn't ask for, some just don't have the time for it. I tend to read this forum on my lunch break at work and don't want to spend the time hunting down feature announcements across the web. 2. A lot of this drama could have been avoided by a s/reddit/community/ in the devnotes. I'm fairly certain the endresult of that reddit thread was a photo of a whiteboard with a selection of things to change next and indicators of popularity. There would be no reason to only poll 1 community for that input. And any reason you give about it's the subset of the community that you wanted input from is just biasing the samples.
  14. half the time they can't just copy paste the mod due to licensing issues, They don't want to get DMCAed by a disgruntled modder (there is a precedent for it)
  15. holding shift (or alt) lets you select the entire vessel and move it around
  16. except without timewarp some missions can take RL years to finish and then suddenly months later you get a notification on a probe that you forgot you even sent out
  17. in absence of a grep tool you can use notepad++'s search in files it works kinda like grep (select root directory, specify word to search, press search and wait a bit)
  18. unless they will also do a poll on the forums and actually look at it I'm getting bummed, personally I find reddit horrible to follow individual posts and their replies (I don't have an account there and will probably still not use any subscribe feature either way) with its single pool of posts where topics get pushed off the first page before you can see them The forum here is at least properly sectioned off so I can ignore parts of it (like introductions, the off-topic section etc.)
  19. Even more curious is that mono is not supported for win64: http://www.mono-project.com/docs/about-mono/supported-platforms/ Unless that is an oversight in that page...
  20. The problem is that the issues of 64bit are not those they can solve without changing the unity engine it is built on (which they don't have the man-power or probably permission to do). They need to wait on Unity to fix some of the 64bit issues before they can even consider releasing stable a 64bit version.
  21. That last is a known issue and depend oddly enough on the order you placed the intakes and engines in, interleave them so you first place some intakes and then the engine that they feed and then the nex set of intake and the engine that they feed etc.
  22. It doesn't need to be the native file manager, just the option to create and explore subfolders in the craft folder will help
  23. For the keyboard there is a ardiuno link in http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/66393-Hardware-Plugin-Arduino-based-physical-display-serial-port-io-tutorial-%2817-Dec%29 Opening a second window or sending the rendered image to another process/device to show would allow the second screen
  24. why should I tell [ spoiler=hints]this is how it's done (remove the space before "spoiler")[/ spoiler]
  25. note that if you are in career mode you will need to upgrade the building before you can use action groups
