Hi! Do you think that you could reopen the "Number War!" thread in forum games? The GMs have found the last valid post, and the game may go on.
-
It's thesolidbrigand! Crap!
-
ALSO: I am requesting that players please stop posting until the thread gets a temp lock.
-
Yes, @DMSP, it is pretty confusing. Hey, @goldenpeach, would you mind putting a temporary lock on this thread? It's gotten very confusing for even me to follow, and there are a number of errors that the GMs will need to sort out. @RainDreamer, @Deutherius: I'm sending you guys a PM shortly. We will need to do a LOT of combing through this.
-
That is correct.
-
Alrighty, ladies and gentlemen! It looks like you can start a new round. We'll review the newest win shortly, and there will probably be a MoDH awarded. Also, I remember someone saying that there was a win that wasn't recorded. If you could PM RainDreamer, Duetherius, and me with the details, that would be great.

To be clear, I do play RO. I don't really see the need for a TWR on the circularization stage of more than .7 at the start. If you want to get to X orbital height, but you don't have a high TWR, all you have to do is launch into a suborbital trajectory with a higher Apogee, and then do a lofting trajectory. It saves some mass, IIRC, because it works well for low TWR stages. It's what NASA does, and it's worked pretty well for them.

I haven't watched the mission yet, but I liked the other ones I saw. You've earned a new fan. I have a question about the payload in Mission 6, though. Do you really need to have 3 engines on it? It seems like once you're in space, TWR doesn't matter as much anymore. I would think that you could get more ∆V by dropping two of them.

Did you download from the store or from Steam? If it's from the store, log in, and go to "Download" or something like that.
-
Tell me about it! I didn't even have a beard when this started! But seriously, Kuzzter, this is great stuff.

Yeup, what 5thHorseman said sums a lot of it up. I wonder what else you have at the top of your rocket, besides a capsule (and chutes, too, I hope!)? To me, it seems like you have plenty of power, you just have too much payload. In KSP, we define that as "anything not used or discarded to reach orbit." Some other tips I've learned, over the years- Fins go on the bottommost stage, and no others. It's a mistake I made my first few flights, and it's not one I do now. Don't put anything on the bottom of an SRB which isn't discarded before firing. This includes engines. If you have more questions, I'd suggest checking out the Gameplay Questions or Tutorials subforums. Once you get to orbit, you're halfway to anywhere! (No, really. the largest ∆V requirement in most missions is getting into orbit.) Also, I'm going to ping @DuoDex, our favorite French-speaking moderator!

Would this be a delicate 3D print from Euclid3D?
Dman979 replied to ZooNamedGames's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Well, there's only one way to find out... ping @Eucl3D! Hi guys! Can you answer OP's question? -
Actually, you probably won't need one if all you're doing is writing press releases. A word of warning, though- make --> very sure <--not to get into roleplay. That is Verboten. If your computer has a built-in mike, then that should be fine on Discord, which we used for the last launch. If you want to provide in-flight commentary with @CliftonM, that's what you'll use.

[MISSION RELATED] It's going to be one of a few different things- either: A geostationary communications sattilite Scorpius-Solaris 02 Moon flyby and return probe Other proposed missions One important consideration before any new launches is to update the game to 1.1.2, or the newest version of RO. In the backup mission controllers? I don't think so. However, FDO in particular might want some help planning orbital maneuvers. If you wanted to be on-station during a launch, I'm sure that he or she would love your help. Also, we have a mission planning team, too. Talk to @ILikeIke if you're interested.
-
Noob? No, I don't think I said that. I meant that there are some expectations for mission control and flight planning, and it can be hard to understand them immediately without some sort of introduction to what we're doing. I'm sure you have a lot of experience with KSP, but this is very different from launching vehicles on your own and eyeballing it to orbit, and we want to make sure that you are fully prepared to plug and play as a Mission Controller.

Wrongo! @Andem?
-
Banned for not actually banning someone.
-
Hi, @ChesterPerry! I'm a semi-experienced player from America. Welcome aboard!
-
Erm... There was an extended burn on the second stage which put us into an eccentric orbit. Mission Control decided to abort, but the abort didn't go as planned, and the astronaut died. In a post-mission simulation (shown above), the crew was able to return the capsule safely to earth. We are investigating the accident now.
-
Nope. But any win will be recorded snidely.
-
Ding ding ding! Yeah, it certainly looks like it now. In the future, please ping a GM so it's easier for us to look through the thread.
