    Well, considering that it was one PC Gamer's favorite games this year, I'm not surprised that a lot of students knew it. One of the schools that I'm applying to (Embry-Riddle) has a contest where you have a set amount of time to land and return as many moon rockets as you can.

    Oh, hi! Well, here's your first lesson on getting to orbit: Orbit is not a place, nor a height- it is a speed. You have to be going fast enough sideways to fall down ~5m/s while Kerbin has gotten 5m down. Bad explanation, I know, but you'll want to check out the Gameplay Questions and Tutorials Subforums.
