  1. There's no reason to believe that, @Sanic. As Kuzzter has repeatedly mentioned, his Kerbals do not know from violence, so there would be no need to have separate countries, let alone spies. *gently and carefully removes Sanic's tinfoil hat and replaces it with a Ushanka*
  2. Ohh, am I the first to post after the comic? Also, isn't there XP for planting flags?
  3. Yeah, what Starhawk said. The only thing I can add is that you might check out the International Subforum. Welcome aboard!
  4. No, sry, pls no ban pls I summon another former scout, @DuoDex!
  5. Download 1.1 and go to Duna and Ike for the first time ever.
  6. Yes, English can be weird. It can be understood through tough thorough thought, though.
  7. Well. Goddamn, that's a nice piece of work there. Reminds me of the Munbug, by Mulbin. One minor thing- the LM was connected to the S-IVB stage until CSM docking, and then separated. Speaking of the LM, it looks frigging amazing. the attention to detail here it off the charts. Give yourself a pat on the back, man- you've earned it.
  8. Must be Y2K. Also, my first post of the new year!
  9. cute! Will rep when my timer goes to 0
  10. @batman78781 Then I don't know how to install mods, sorry. I run from the devs. I would bet, though, that if you ask the modders, they can help you. To quote @Starhawk, Happy Landings!
  11. It depends on the mod. If you have a well-made part-mod, like @Vanamonde was saying, than it should take care of itself. Just curious, do you run KSP on Steam or did you buy it from the Devs? It will change how you install mods.
  12. And I'm sorry that I wasn't here to say hi earlier. That wasn't very neighborly of me, was it? Welcome aboard, and have your second rep, courtesy of me!
  13. For Hanukkah, I got: A shaving set from The Art of Shaving (which I really like. It makes me want to shave now.) 3 of these stamps inside this book I also got letters from some elected officials congratulating me on earning Eagle Scout. (My parents had hidden them, and then forgot to give them to me at my Court of Honor.) A resolution from my state's senate, congratulating me on Eagle, and saying that they think that Scouting is great, yada yada. And best of all, I got a handwritten note from my mom and dad, telling me that they loved me and wishing me the best in all that I do. Not gonna lie, I was really moved.
  14. Hello, @CanOmer! Scott Manley is a great guy to watch. He has a lot of helpful tips. You might also want to check out the Gameplay Questions and Tutorials subforum. As for mods: I'd recommend KER (Kerbal Engineer Redux), KAC (Kerbal Alarm Clock), ATM (Active Texture Management). KER gives you a readout on your ship's stats, including ∆V, mass, TWR, and burn times. KAC helps keep you from warping past an important event, and ATM... well, I don't know exactly what ATM does, but it helps my game load faster.
  15. In these parts, most people call me drunk as a skunk... I mean, Dman. *Hic*How's about you two head over to the *hic* salon... eh, saloon... *hic* I mean... Tutorials and Gameplay Help Shubforms...
  16. Hello, @The Admiral! If you need any help building your rocket... we're here for you. Hi-o, Silver!
  17. Hello, @batman78781, and welcome! You'll find that we're a pretty helpful place. There's tons to do, and no matter what your trouble with the game is, somebody will be here to help you. Welcome aboard, and to steal another forumgoer's sign-off Happy Landings!
  18. Hi, @Doctor Mandarb! Well, you've been playing KSP for about as long as I have, so I can't offer much advice. But fly safe!
  19. I agree with @Endersmens. You should also probably ask him a question which only he would know the answer to. And it might be a good idea to ask your parents about it. Hope this advice from random internet strangers helps!
  20. So, mass is not the same as weight. Weight is a vector quantity, as given by the equation W=MG, where W is Weight, M is mass, and G is the local acceleration due to gravity. Weight can change if the acceleration on an object changes. Mass is a different unit: it gives the amount of matter in a given object. You can derive mass from weight, and vice versa, but they are two different quantities. The rocket equation is ∆V= Isp*G*Ln(M0/M1) ∆V is the potential change in velocity your spacecraft can achieve, measured in meters/second Isp is the effiecny of your craft, in seconds Ln is the natural log (you'll need to use a calculator) M0 is the total mass of your craft, including your LFO, measured in Kg M1 is the empty mass of your craft (including any propellant that you don't want to use, like monoprop), in Kg. There's another equation, too: T/W T is the total thrust of the rocket at a given point in time, and W is the weight of the rocket (see above) Here's where you make compromises: In real life, ∆V has a higher priority than TWR. This is because most chemical fuels have a comparatively low efficiency. An orbital engine is needed which maximizes the Isp of the fuel. If this means having a low TWR, most missions are ok with this, because they are multi-year operations. You need to find a balance between how much ∆V you need and the TWR you want in orbit. I've been running missions with 20m+ burn times and 0.03 TWR, and split them into multiple orbits. I'm OK with this, because I only needed to put a small amount of mass in orbit, but i have ~1,500 km/s of ∆V. I'm using Realism Overhaul, so maximum ∆V in minimum mass is my priority. Since you're using the stock game, you need to decide what your priorities are. What I would recommend would be to calculate how much ∆V you will need for everything after you first get into orbit, multiply that by 1.25 to 1.5 (depending on how confident you feel in your piloting skills), and then find the engine which strikes the best compromise between TWR and Isp for your needs.
  21. I was right! They are giving away copies of KSP! But as Kozak said, I'm looking forward to the poster. Would whoever won post about it?
  22. I've been sending comsats into orbit using RSS and RT.
  23. Hello @Whovian41110! That's a pretty sick looking avatar. Welcome aboard!
