I'm with Majorjim. Try something else and come back to it. You seem to have a thing for WWII USN carrier-based planes. Why not try the Grumman Hellcat, Wildcat, Bearcat, or the Brewster Buffalo? Or the Douglas SBD Dauntless? Or the Devastator? There are so many things to do, don't get stuck on one plane.

Same. Mine took 2 years to plan, at least 2 rewrites, 61 volunteers and veterans... I feel ya. I was up till 4AM on the night before my project getting all the posters in order. But most importantly, your project should be somehting you want to do. I was able to deal with my project because it meant something to me.
