  1. Yea, sandbox is rewarding i dont need to do anything crazy to unlock all the parts. I am playing career, I find it is very much rewarding, yup. Some of the contracts are outrageous, and some pay off nice. Unlocking tech tree with contracts and exploration is cool when you pull it off, without the required 5 "testing" launch attempts etc Nice to be able to have some customisables before career mode starts, i like a good ole cash injection booster at the start, and quicksaves/reverts. with mods can make the career mode a bit different though. Career mode is rewarding me thinks,
  2. What a question, and a good pick of answers! I could have ticked them all i guess; I was ultimately torn between 2 (space flight sim) 3 (design crafts) and 5 (manage space agency) But considering whats going on in my head and whats going on at my KSC is hugely different I knock off 5, and even though flying the aircraft i built takes loads more time and i actually carry out what i planned/built it to do - i enjoy building the crafts more. TBH that was an easy answer. Sometimes i think "I wish i could launch this while i start building the next one" and more often than not even if i dont have anything to build i'll end up tinkering with past already built crafts even if i never intend on launching them again.
  3. This is a brilliant mod. I am in AWE of the animation your experiments do. & SO MUCH SCIENCE Yay I have scansat aswell, thank you, thank you, thank you! Brilliant good fun this mod Those Icons lookin pretty sweet!
  4. I have been playing with this mod for some time and have enjoyed it loads, i'm updating now and have been contemplating weather i want this mod again. Heres my .25 station : From left to right : The origional final stage which put the 2 cyclotrons in orbit > 2x cyclotrons > 2x Science labs docked 90 degreese > 1x Zoo-ology bay > 4 way docking node for individual experiement docks > (infernal robotics) foldaway giant sized solar thing A more crap screenshot : With a kibbal supply on the far right. The solar hinges have been retracted. And you can see 3 experiment landers docked. I tell you, the launchers I made for these behmoth monstrosities were hilarious, cant believe i got that stuff up their haha. When you say remodeling, you mean so when i put parts directly onto, say e.g. the cyclotron they actually attach to the part and not attach outside the "model" like theres some empty space between the attached parts where the model is slimmer. I hope i made sense there. Anyway, great mod, I need a useful space station so I'll take it!
  5. Im updating to .9 tonight and this mod is so delicious i'm taking it with me. Brilliant mod. Thanks, and why no .9 update? Im hoping because it will work as perfect.... I'll be testing those struts fo sho, & cant be going without those big beefy engines
  6. I have been using mechjeb for some time now and it has made my KSP an absolute pleasure. I've learned so much from it. Still, i second check every maneuver it makes, and i find it works fantasic. Its saved me many times, sometimes its confused the hell out of me and went nose first downwards - but one way or another we get there in the end. Great mod, my hat goes off to creators/contributors etc etc Thank you!
  7. Just a quick post to say I've been using this mod since err... For ages - Finally updating to .9 tonight and KAS (among others) is coming along for our next adventure, thanks for this mod its brilliant. The physics on the winch cables have been absolutely out of this world, as in - i've had a terrible time with them - But cant be going without now. Brilliant mod, hope to see more like it, thank you! Edit: I thought the range was 50m
  8. Well, i bought the game at .19, was playing it before then.
  9. i made my land crawler do a 60km hop accross teh mun to put together the kethane & power modules, as well as to fill and attach the fuel canister to the tug, then launch to mun orbiter. I forgot spare struts from KAS so I secured the thing i used as a tug from underneath with the robotic arm but it made it a bit unbalanced.
  10. There's no way i could ever imagine that kerbin is earth. (or the equivilent of) I like that is has some resemblance - mud, water, hills etc that we see on earth, and even the moon! There's no sign of life on that planet whatsoever, they must be in a different solar system. The only coincidink is the next planet out is red, which is similar to our solar system. I call Duna "Mars" accidentally all the time. (still not got there)
  11. I didn't even check the prices, but i knew it was going to be silly expensive. (still not checking prices) totally not on that train.
  12. I noticed that throttle thing, but it never affected me. I throttle as much as i need or set Mechjeb for % based throttlage. Something else I noticed is a "day" is just 6 hours in game, they have 3 hours day and 3 hours night cycle. But an hour still counts as an hour. I did not know the number of digits a kerbal had on its hands, thats cute! Look at those dinky fingers haha, I am a little let down that they have "toes", i wasnt expecting flippers or anything, i guess i never thought i'd see any of their feet - ever.
  13. That is very interesting putting the SRBs on the main ship, nice I usually put 4 SRBs per item, on the outside angled slightly inwards so as to thrust it away from the ship without damaging other stages. Also parachutes deploy I am playing with stage recovery mod. Im such a cheapskate my 2nd, 3rd etc stages have retro SRBs so as most everything will fall back down.
  14. I love that drill, very nice. I too am confused what that map means however im sure it will soon become clear, and i couldn't care less about the scan line thing or the hexes, i guess it makes it look more gradual.
  15. I've restarted this post 3 times. For me this question is impossible. I like flying games, and building games, and strategy games and simulation games. (minecraft asside) i've never done ALL together before. Those niche games where things turn out "epic" from total simplicity. Thats my fun. Being proper happy when (computer performance aside) a hugely massive and complicated ship works. Everything about this game. (comp performance aside) Its all fun. I like watching other people play this game. Heres my top 10 fun points: Building Testing Re-building Launches Re-launches Kerbal Space Center Stage seperations Stage seperation gets 2 on my top 10 Career mode Quick saves Mods Engines docking manuver nodes Bob Landing legs Science Moons Updates Game mechanics Mechjeb (Loading screen EDIT) RCS thrusters Wow, i gotta go play now. Nice one.
  16. I usually use about 2 or 3 reaction wheels throughout my rockets. Usually my upper stage will have a large one, as well as usually i have a smaller one on the payload, and if theres a capsule of sorts depending I may add another.
  17. Weekday "session" goes from 4 - 8 hours. The only thing stopping me is pure exhaustion or when game crashes i sometimes cba waiting for loading screen. My days off "week ends" I eat, sleep, & poop space kerbals. Sleep is for suckers.
  18. That would be nice, but knowing my luck they would ramble on about big plans for mods i have no interest in. Saying that, when i check facebook i am usually pleasantly surprised by the amount of mod spotlightage among other things that KSP post there daily.
  19. I'm confused. Is that sarcasm? Why you immediately go for ground? Your rocket is somehow unbalanced. When my launches go to one side immediately like that, its usually because of some silly mistake like missing fuel line, but if that's all perfect then it must lay with the cargo, is the center of mass and thrust aligned? Even if your cargo CoM is slightly off, putting it ontop of a rocket will have further consequences however i notice your rocket is quite short. But still. I would consider rebuilding entirely, its probably an extra wing on that little fairing contraption thing, i dont know. Dont wings do some some jazzy "lift" forces? ASAS will only help you go where you point, its help is really limited. It aint magic. BARING in mind the reaction wheels may spin a .5 tonne lander capsule with ease, but a 200 odd tonne launcher, in gravity - on the ground; there's going to be next to no "control" given for your 1.5 kn of energy or whatever. I personally like SAS as its stands, and hope it wont change, i imagine with squads new aerodynamics SAS will be less useful ( or needed more) , as apparently SAS is already overpowered.
  20. Anywhere between 8 - 15 depending on SRBs, payload & orbit height. On teh mun i tend to go sideways immediately on launch
  21. Well, like anything in the game could do with a few more customisables: arm length, attachy bit size, but other than that i think they serve very well!
  22. i have: AMD FX 8350 *nvidia 650ti 2gb 120gb ssd 8gb ram windows 7 Anything above about 200 parts puts fps right down, light levels on low, fantasic render, textures 1/2 res, +mods Its a slideshow at anything 400+ parts - nightmare for my space stations and bases obviously. Then every few mins it will decide to run absolutely perfect for about a second which throws me right off. Loading times and crashes are abundant, im starting various ksp loading rituals. I would strongly advise against IntelHD graphics. The 650M might stand the ksp test
  23. I managed to get orbits, mun & minmus landers there and back, rendevous , and docked once. that was when i decided an autopilot might help. I learned more about the navball, manuver nodes, d/v etc from that point on. I've learned more about all that with Mechjeb, and am venturing to interplanetary transfer on my own now. It helped me to make more better vehicles.
