  1. Happy Birthday! And congrats on the job! If you don't mind my asking, what exactly is your new job? Or if you can't/aren't comfortable giving that info, what field is it in?
  2. great job on release, testing now. BTW, your Kopernicus link in the OP points to a comment deep into the thread (~ a quarter of the way, page 26), not to the thread itself.
  3. I'm curious as to what was wrong with the one @QuentinJericho had, and what the new one was...
  4. will Uranus be getting rings? Will it have proper axial tilt?! These are the important questions... /s, though I would be curious as to the answers of those questions. This is looking better and better with every screenshot you post!
  5. this hasn't been updated in ages, and as Astronomer hasn't really been around, I doubt it will be any time soon. Not to mention, EVE has been entirely rebuilt since the last time this was updated, so porting it will not only be very difficult, it would be nearly impossible, and you'd never get quite the same look, since some of EVE's features that make this pack so beautiful no longer exist (mostly nighttime visible clouds and dedicated aurora configs). Use SVE or another pack from now on, or at least in the mean time. You may find you like them.
  6. You never want to put the .zip files right into GameData. You want their contents in GameData. The reference to 2 .zip files is from just a few weeks ago, when there were 2. Now there's one, something like "AnyCPU-EVE.zip" I think. there are 2 zip files. see edit. double click them, and you'll see a GameData folder in each. double click those as well, and drag their contents into gamedata EDIT: sorry, I was mistaken, there are still 2 .zip files, "AnyCPU-Configs-Release.zip" and "AnyCPU-EVE-Release.zip". you need both if you're just using EVE. put the contents of both into GameData; they should be "BoulderCo" and "EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements"
  7. WOW that looks incredible. My jaw hit the floor.
  8. I'll take a look in the morning, way to tired to compare numbers right now. They'll get all jumbled in my head, 'specially cuz I don't have the ones for the stock system or RL memorized.
  9. So a question on the exact scaling of various things then... Earth is Kerbin size I'm guessing? Are all other scale values derived from that one? So the whole system is scaled by the same factor? Or is Earth Kerbin sized, Mars Duna sized, Venus Eve sized, etc...? And how are orbital altitudes/distances of the various planets/moons scaled?
  10. This looks absolutely stunning; very nice job. I'm not sure, but I believe this is akin to the S^3 (SmallSolarSystem) Mod from a while back? 1/10 of Real Life size, but using RSS? Either way, based on your activity in the SVE, EVE, and Scatterer threads, I'm sure this is going to be a really stunning mod, maybe even enough that I'll install my first solar system modifying mod.
  11. are you referring to the warnings AVC gives? those don't mean anything in this update, they're just due to modders making the version file compatible to 1.1.0, so now with 1.1.1 AVC thinks they're broken, but I haven't found any that actually are. Mods that say they're compatible to 1.1 or 1.1.x should still say they're compatible
  12. Didn't realize this was fixed in the dev version, so I just submitted a pull request with a fix. My B!
  13. shouldn't take too long. both are relatively quick downloads. anywho, I'm signing off for the night. Talk to you all tomorrow!
  14. I have. working fine for me. I don't really pay attention to how many clouds, just how they look, and I've opened and closed KSP so many times tonight I haven't been checking. so idk. Thx
  15. there's something wrong with your files, but I'm not sure if it's connected to your mega city issue. see my post just above this one. gonna try OSX tomorrow, right now I have to take care of some other stuff. @Nhawks17, @rbray89, @Berlin, @blackrack or anyone else seeing this, do any of you want to try testing @sp1989's gamedata folder to verify what I'm seeing?
  16. @sp1989, I'm seeing some weird stuff. When I use your GameData, as is, I get no clouds whatsoever, but also no MegaCity Kerbin. When I use the files I downloaded, out of my working GameData, (but only SVE and Scatterer), I have no issues. Full clouds, no megacity, it just works. so something's wrong with your files. Whether this issue is linked to megacity I couldn't tell you. I can suggest deleting the .DS_Store files, they're weird OSX stuff that seems to only cause issues wherever they go.
  17. I'm actually not seeing your issue on windows. but I'm also not seeing any clouds whatsoever. very very strange. gonna try mac shortly. if it's opengl, it would make sense i wouldn't be seeing it, windows 1.1 doesn't support opengl at the moment @Berlin is right though @sp1989, you could setup bootcamp. It's how I run KSP, and you wouldn't even have to pay for it. The ISO is free from Microsoft, and if you sign up for the betas, from which you can choose bleeding edge, pretty much stable, or one build ahead of release. I use bleeding edge (Fast ring), and I haven't had too many issues. Not enough to get me to want to switch. And all of the betas are free, as long as you stay on the betas.
  18. huh, TIL. I'll try that a little later, I'm booted in windows right now and have some stuff running.
  19. there was some testing with this when the ocean was first released. It "worked" but was prone to both bugs, and causing highly excessive RUDs (Rapid Unplanned Disassemblies for the uninitiated). Was also excessively memory intensive IIRC. @blackrack, could you verify these memories for me? you'd know better than me, you were the one who tested it.
  20. I would. In fact, when is your save(s) from? I'd recommend you delete your KSP install (after backing up your save(s)/craft(s)) and reinstall entirely fresh. Then delete everything in GameData (it should just be Squad after a reinstall, but it might not be. Either way, delete Squad along with everything else) and have steam verify the installation files. It "should" redownload only what is released by Squad. Then install your mods (fresh downloads for both of them), and test again. I've just finished the project I'm working on in KSP for the night, so I'm about to boot up your gamedata folder. Will get back to you with results when I have them. Unfortunately my OSX install hasn't been working (meant to let you know this @Nhawks17, I found out last night when I went to go test what you asked me to); the game hangs indefinitely whenever I try to enter VAB or SPH. So I'm gonna have to test this in Windows 10 @sp1989. But I'll get you my results either way.
  21. one thing I've noticed right off the bat is that you still have a "NASAmission" folder in GameData. That folder got dispersed into the "Squad\Parts" folder a few updates ago (the parts were moved to the appropriate folders, and the parent folder [NASAmission] was removed). You don't need that folder, unless you modified the files and prefer to use those. Just for the sake of being thorough, what version of KSP are you using (1.0.5, 1.1, etc.), in what Operating System (Windows, Mac, Linux), and using which architecture (32-bit or 64-bit)? I'm guessing by the presence of the .DS_Store folders that you are using Mac, but I don't want to miss anything. Your particular bug, while cool looking, ruins the whole purpose of SVE.
