  1. Thats very nice, you might find for propulsion purposes the water behaves more like air. You will probably need bigger blades.
  2. I think the kind of person who likes this game is someone who enjoys building and creating, researching and learning and also likes a bit of cartoonery mischief and has a bit of a stubborn streak. I have seen everyone from history nuts to astronauts play this game. Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mad inventions, Crazy Funny Parodies, Serious Rockety NASA science type stuff, you can do it all, the game has amazing depth. I have been playing for many years and many others have been playing even longer. For the money it is probably the best value game on the market if not ever.
  3. It's not just you, this happened a couple of versions ago. Not sure why.
  4. Found this in my folder from 1.04 testing, played with it a bit, cannot get it to take off without crashing, but if you edit it into the air it flies nicely, single Juno suits the performance and is a lot easier to hide. It was originally pTrevTrevs Fokker D 1, he apparently didn't use the no offset mod so I removed a ton of cubic struts and redid the struts, changed a few things here and there. And made it not take off despite having a good CoM and CoL, it just stalls nose high as soon as the wheels leave the ground. Hmmm I just realised I din't check the pilot orientation.
  5. My hopes are that it works well, not too many initial bugs, has some new prettiness from shaders and more memory and is stable even when heavily modded. Larger ships, OK I am not expecting too much here, but then i have realised that when my part count gets too high I was usually just doing things inefficiently. Stability first, more memory (64bit), easy porting of mods so they get updated quickly, me = happy.
  6. Yep, hmmm, no my Mini Soyuz does not go to those lengths, it still does it, but the lazyman way.
  7. I can lend you a prerelease of my tank turret bearing in a box if you want.
  8. This is what 28 Junos and 12 Aerospikes looks like, interestingly the Juno's alone are not adequate to lift it
  9. It really does look close but I used 6 way symmetry with three engines each instead of 8 way. And I hadn't actually built the detachable nose (isn't it supposed to be a little orbiter?) yet. Just looking at that diagram, 12 aerospikes and 28 turbojets in two rings, crazy, would be down to Juno's to make it fit hmmmm
  10. It really does look close but I used 6 way symmetry with three engines each instead of 8 way. And I hadn't actually built the detachable nose (isn't it supposed to be a little orbiter?) yet.
  11. I did see it, I just didn't look closely, its very similar to what I had in mind but without aerospikes. I doubt I would make one now as it would be too close to yours.
  12. The payload section in the middle is hard because apparently interstage fairings are as much drag as no fairing at all and heavier (someone worked out they were not occluded correctly on reddit) so it needs to be made out of something else like wing parts.
  13. By the way I spooled up the jets and then staged the aerospike and run it all the way into orbit, just let the jets die naturally.
  14. I wasn't trying to convince you, I was not even really replying to you, I was just geeking out about building an actual replica, that looks and works the same, it seemed doable at first glance, I did a quick test and it looked good. It took me a while though to get that rocket into orbit with such a high payload fraction. In the replica I would be surprised to achieve higher than 15%.
  15. 27.43t on the Pad, payload 5.5t of ore, makes a 20% payload fraction, of course it's going to be less once you add in other things like decouplers and such. If you had 6 such boosters, in a more compact form you could lob 20-30t into LKO
  16. Some quick testing showed almost 20% payload fraction for 2 turboramjets and an aerospike, so its doable
  17. Except this was supposed to use Aerospikes, which would make it much more interesting to build. And a payload bay in the inside cylinder...wow now that would be interesting
  18. Progress, I hit the side of a barn with it, the VAB to be exact, the counterbalance of the barrel needs to be tweaked and may involve a couple of ore cannisters as their contents can be jettisoned at each shot keeping the barrel in balance the whole time. I also made a pretty darn small powerful bearing for it, the bearing actually controls the rotation of the turret and the elevation of the barrel, which move on separate bearings.
  19. I have got it behaving nicely and the tank is 1:1 scale, the bearing is also going to come separately in a box so anyone can use it on their tank, it is about 30 parts all up including the structural plate box. I still have some work to do on the gun bearing, which works but is not up to par, the whole thing needs to work together seamlessly. Probably the best thing is the tank round though from a couple of pages back. Thats what makes it awesome.
  20. I am not sure but I think you guys might have issues with our more interesting builds. I always assumed all our clipping would be pretty hard to replicate. More than willing to be proved wrong on that.
  21. I really like it, especially the lifting body rocket. I think the B-52's wings let it down a little (but good for the part count), they are very hard to get right, I have seen a few replica's and the wings have always been the worst bit.
  22. I'm not sure if you understand the word indestructible
