KSP2 Release Notes

I didn't even realise this thread was so old, it's awesome but you should use the stock fairing, more aerodynamic, much less parts and probably? lighter. You could probably utilise the 3.75 to 2.5 adapter as well on the second stage and MK3 tanks on the bottom with the flat sides facing out. Might not go with the theme you have though, but if you wanted to reduce the part count. Like I said it might not fit with the gestalt.

Question about the 1.1 update
selfish_meme replied to Algiark's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
If you read the devnotes, then you'll have noticed that this "feature" was underwhelming and only worked if your object is a square box with 4 wheels. Not a random shape of shapes with random wheels attached. So there was a lot of work in getting wheels working again. General rule of optimization, do not expect magic. 5% to 30% is a rule of thumb (I'm an software engineer, 10 years of experience) 64bit would be a welcome addition for the windows users, if it's really stable. And might yield some performance improvements as well (software I develop runs about 15% faster in 64bit mode, but I expect way less improvement for KSP)
They purchased a new wheel module because of the underwhelmingness of stock Unity 5, one that has provisions for a lot better wheel simulation than currently exists -

selfish_meme replied to selfish_meme's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
So news and plans, I released the Mini Soyuz last night and got a feature on Spacecraft Friday/Monday for the SE-X 1. That was great, was a pity the Mini Shuttle didn't get a feature or much notice, it was really nice. I have decided to put The Dunatian on hold until after 1.1 as I don't have time to do much other than update current other craft. I have finished a launcher for the Kerbes that I will add to it, but it needs updating too. As for current craft, the Finch has been updated but I want to work on the missiles a bit more. I will update some of the more popular craft like the Orbit Master as well. Sadly Project X has been killed by the changes to 1.05, it was very marginal anyway and the changes to the jets have made it unworkable. Lastly the destroyer I was working on for the WWII video looks like it needs a lot of work for the new buoyancy. Front Page has had a lot of changes and is looking pretty nice, need some more changes to the format to get information density up so it's not so long.- 47 replies

So you may have noticed not much has happened here lately, personal stuff and the update to 1.05 have put a bit of a hold on things. I decided to leave it till after 1.1 drops because I don't want to rebuild al the craft for what might be a very short period. After I have rebuilt them I will make the release final from Beta.

Mini Soyuz for the November 28th Anniversary
selfish_meme replied to selfish_meme's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Hey man, a valiant effort indeed! The motor placement is not correct however.. see this pic, this is how the engines are positioned: https://jdwaggoner.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/soyuz-engines.jpg MJ
I'll move them around, aint no big deal - - - Updated - - -
Aw bless! I've always loved how many thrusters Soyuz has. Great little craft! I'm going to assume it's HotRockets, but what mod/tex pack are you using for the exhausts? Ryan
Using real plume -

Look for Korolev's cross on booster separation. It will make a 70 to 75 km orbit, just. Make sure you leave the fairing on until above 50km. To use LES Abort stages the fairing and then Action Group 1 to save the probe core! YouTube Channel Videos and Gifs Released Craft (1.05) Cold War Blackbird Craft Release Thread Google Drive Download Cold War Blackbird is a short film set in 1972 in an alternate Kerbal universe over the country of Kerbitnam. All the craft were from that time period in our universe but as far as I know no MiG 25's ever flew in Vietnam. However all the other craft were in Vietnam during that period. Where possible the planes have performance similar to their real counterparts. There are also ground vehicles and other accessories all stock. It was filmed in 1.05 and no effort has been made to update these craft to 1.1 yet. I would share the film versions but the changes would be difficult to replicate. Space Shuttle Atlantis OV-104 Release Thread KerbalX Download Space Shuttle Atlantis OV-104 is a MK3 scale replica of the Space Shuttle. It is meant to be as realistic as possible, so the boosters are SRB's. There is a MK 2 version on the way that is much better with several mission payloads, so I would wait for that one rather than downloading this one. SSTA KSS Voyager Release Thread KerbalX Download A spaceplane that can SSTO from Kerbin with enough dV to go almost anywhere and land again. Once on another planet it can mine resources to refuel and then take off and go anywhere again. It can land like a conventional spaceplane using lift in atmosphere, and or it can use it's VTOL capabilities on all worlds for the last bit of landing (uses oxidiser really fast, save for absolutely the last minute). Stock Duna Buggy Release Thread KerbalX Download Along with some Vagani suspension (which will not stop things exploding if you jump the administration building like I did) it has about 500ms of dV (enough to get you to orbit on the Mun) *note: Warranty void if used off Kerbin. Soviet T-54 Tank Release Thread KerbalX Download A soviet era T-54 Tank replica with rotating turret and two BFG (Big Friendly Greeting) 0.625 rounds. K-1 Falcon Supersonic Bomber Release Thread KerbalX Download It can super-cruise (half throttle) at almost Mach 4 and deliver 2 cruise missiles nearly anywhere on Kerbin if fully fuelled. Requires BDArmory for Nosecone, Targeting Pod, ECM, Chaff, Flares and Cruise Missiles. Mining Platform (oil rig) Release Thread KerbalX Download A Sea Based Mining Platform (like an oil rig). you can mine with it in very shallow water and dock a ship with it (possibly). 224 parts Vought F4-U Corsair Release Thread KerbalX Download A replica of the famous WWII navy/marines fighter, it auto takes off and is quite manoeuvrable and easy to fly. If you want the paint you need to install Kerbpaint and if you want decals you can make them using the Flag_Decals mod. Air Carrier Release Thread KerbalX Download Before Wernher worked for the KSC he was pilfered from the Kaiser where he worked on their Wunderwaffe (Wonder Weapon) program. There he created the Wunderwaffe Flugzeugträger Damocles and aircraft carrier that is capable of flight itself. It can also set down in the water and be used like a normal aircraft carrier. US Army Jeep Release Thread KerbalX Download A stock US Army jeep that is fun to drive and paint, if you want the colors you will need Kerbpaint. Now with machine gun! 95 parts Blue Origin: New Shepard Release Thread KerbalX Download Replica of the Blue Origin New Shepard. A Space Tourist ship for taking 6 passengers to the edge of space and returning booster and capsule seperately, the booster under power. Included Launch Tower for transferring Kerbals to the ship it is made up of 165 parts. KG-12 Finch Release Thread KerbalX Download A small, fast and manoeuvrable Ground Attack/Advanced Trainer with a couple of missiles and a bomb. The engine has been updated to the Panther and the missiles have been redone to be much more accurate. Mini Soyuz Release Thread KerbalX Download It's small, it's cute, whats not to like. A mini Soyuz to celebrate the anniversary of the original Soyuz on November 28th 1966. It's as complete as I can make it, includes LES, Korolev's cross on booster seperation and authentic capsule sounds (OK I'm just joking about that last one) *Note need to update engine placement for Majorjim. Space Shuttle Gargantua Release Thread KerbalX Download Who said small things could not be fantastic, this ship packs a lot of fun into a very small package. A 1/3rd Scale replica of the NASA Space Shuttle it can deliver a small payload to 100km orbit. Included is a resource scanning satellite. Seaplane Experimental S-EX 1 Release Thread KerbalX Download Every Kerbal playboy needs his own seaplane to fly dates to nearby deserted islands. And no one is more playboyish than our Kerbalnaughts. This island hopper boasts STOL on land or water and looks to impress anyone. Work in Progress Name Album Comment Jool Grand Tour Spaceplane An SSTO Spaceplane for the Jool Grand Tour that carries a Laythe SSTO Spaceplane Lander and a Tylo Lander that also lands on all the other bodies. It's all been tested using HyperEdit (The spaceplane itself has been flown to orbit the normal way), I just need the spare time to fly the mission. De Havilland Mosquito A replica of the famous Fighter/Bomber from WWII, temperature bugs shelved the project in 1.04, but the bug fixes in 1.05 mean a resurrection is possible. Packs The Dunatian, crafts and playable save file Selfish Meme's Flag Pack Non Upgraded Craft (1.04) Name Album Release Download Comment Vickers Wellington MK X Link KerbalX A replica of the famous WWII bomber Kakar R1 Link Download An active suspension rover that happened to look a little like a Paris to Dakar racer OrbitMaster Link KerbalX Orange Tank to LKO and return 33% Payload Fraction, it's an optimised refuelling machine, it does not have docking ports, it just put's orange tanks in orbit, you will need a tug or some other craft to go fetch them. Demonstrator Link KerbalX Craft constructed for a KSP Controller Demo being run in Sydney, apparently it got some good use. Easy to fly with big margins, have a relaxed and easy trip to your space station, or even a Mun flyby for tourists. Can the "Skydiver" Submarine SSTO actually be built?
selfish_meme replied to Just Jim's topic in KSP1 Discussion
hey now.... I wasn't trying to suggest 1999 was good... I just wanted to show the Eagle Lander. I think it's one of the more realistic ships of the time
http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/8549-Space-1999-Eagle-**Version-1-2-16-hatch-Kerbonaut-Ready!** there is a mod not sure if it is current -
That's what kOS, and kRPC simulate. What Mechjeb simulates is what it would have been like if that software didn't have to be specially made custom for the space program and could be just bought off the shelf. Programming the AGC for Apollo was just as much of a major effort as making the rockets was.
At the time, all software was custom, but the game has nuclear engines and advanced computerised technology.

The Eve-OH - 1.0.5 Eve lander and orbiter
selfish_meme replied to Foxster's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
From my experiments in 1.04 around 1.20 is the lowest twr, so if yours is less than Foxsters 1.19 it probably won't get off the ground. -
Ok, I would edit my post but this might be important for anyone who understands all this and may have checked in since I posted the above. Black sky is caused by Kopernicus. I tried this because Proot and Nhawks are both making beautification packs that bring all the wonderful visual candy together. I missed CBigclouds comment in amongst the others until just now. When they mentioned OPM, I realised Kopernicus is the link. Edit: So to clarify, I threw Kopernicus in my install and my sky went black. I also get the same exceptions mentioned above. Re wording: Kopernicus with Scatterer makes the sky go black.
I didn't load Kopernicus because of the bouyancy issue which explains why I never got the black skies.

Do I need to copy it in two different subshaders and give them different tags? Edited:You already answered this a page ago, multiple subshaders works but multiple tags doesn't. Some more shots for you, I have not had any of the artifacts the others reported, using 0.0191 with artifacts.zip on OpenGL Nvidia Linux, but I have seen this before with scatterer and SVE cruising through the cloud base back to the KSC, I have a video of moving through the cloud base, they look like texture edges to me that are not faded out completely. i also tried Loaddelay like you said but it still seems a lot slower than previously. http://i.imgur.com/VyMmGsP.png Other direction no artifacts visible http://i.imgur.com/y4ATuC6.png Yes the edges definitely move with the clouds

Mini Soyuz Replica! [AH NEED SOME HALP]
selfish_meme replied to Sharkman Briton's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Wow, did not see how much you were doing on this! Thanks! I think I might move on to either a normal Soyuz, or a Progress or maybe the Shenzhou...
The Rapier powered one works no problems, just using twitches and sparks its more problematic. -
HAHA YES! This thread is officially hilarious. Re-entry on Tylo IS impossible! Fantastic work I am loving it, I had a look at Jool because of the new scatterer, hyperedited my Soyuz into a 200km orbit, and found myself inside the atmosphere, visually, no aparent physics atmosphere. Not sure what causes this SVE or Scatterer. Or is it working as intended, I would expect a sort of pervading greenness. by the way beauty shot first from about 1000km. I am seeing a noticible lag now on scene changes before scatterer kicks in, it was always behind the scene load but now it's more pronounced, no other effect of note. Linux 64bit, Intel with nvidia graphics and overidden hardware antialiasing. Happens for a second before physics kicks in. Glorius.
