  2. Both Mars and Venus are easily visible to the naked eye. Jupiter as well. They are very easy to spot in the sky, especially Venus as it usually will appear before stars do. Remember, Venus is closer to the Sun than Mars and therefore can reflect much more light. Cheers! Capt'n Skunky KSP Community Manager
  3. The Source folder contains the code files from which plugin DLLs are compiled. Since a plugin could do serious damage to your computer, we've required authors to include the source so people can check exactly what that DLL does for peace of mind. You do not need this folder. The PluginData folder is where plugins are supposed to store their data and configuration files. This folder should be placed in the main KSP folder next to the Plugins folder. Cheers! 4. There's even a step-by-step tutorial with pictures stickied in the Support forum. Downloading KSP from the Store You see, it doesn't matter what we do, there will always be someone that just doesn't read or bother to look for answers. Cheers! Capt'n Skunky KSP Community Manager
  5. In the top left of the viewport in the VAB are two circular buttons. These can be used to create symmetrically spaced parts around your ship. There is a setting for 2,3,4,6, and 8 symmetry on the left button and the right button is for angle snap. By either left-clicking on the capsule or holding shift while left-clicking anywhere on the rocket, you can grab the rocket and move it up or down using the scroll wheel on your mouse. While it's possible to edit .craft files to manually build a ship, it's not recommended. Try visiting the Spacecraft Exchange for .craft files you can download and load up in the game. 8. Another one of these crap "balloon to space" news pieces? These things are always garbage and over-hyped to get eyeballs. A fluff piece. You got to throw in the occasional fluff piece between all the doom and gloom. A few months ago the story was about some girls in Tennessee that "put a camera in orbit". As soon as I saw them use "ballon" and "orbit" in the same sentence I died a little. Then I realized it was Tennessee, so about par for the course. Seriously, the reporter had no clue what an orbit is really. Arrr! Capt'n Skunky

  11. And this is why they don't give release dates. They're damned if the do and damned if they don't. At least if they don't give a date, there's a lot less pissing about when they miss it. Seeing as this thread is about to go down the path of all the other "When will X be released", you have one chance to get this thread back on topic. Those that wish to continue to lament how Sqaud operates will be shown the door. This is their house, so their rules. Got it? Good! Cheers! Capt'n Skunky KSP Community Manager
  12. Um, no, just no. There are plenty of places you can go to discuss this. We're not having any of it here because it will degenerate into a flame fest. Cheers! Capt'n Skunky KSP Community Manager
  13. Get a mod that has unmanned capsules (NovaPunch is a good choice) and use the MechJeb plugin to do your testing. MechJeb can give you a lot of information feedback as well as allow you to repeat test flights with accuracy allowing you to see how design changes affect your craft without interference from bad piloting. 15. For one, Steam does not accept alpha stage software for sale. Two, Squad is interested in putting KSP on Steam Greenlight. When there is any news more detailed than that, it will be posted in the Announcements forum. Cheers! Capt'n Skunky KSP Community Manager

  24. There are a few mods that add animated solar panels. The [Collection] Kosmos Spacecraft Design Bureau (SSPP 4.1 6/12/12) pack and the [0.16] Electrical Energy Plugin | v1.4.2 (Sep 9) As far as connecting things in space, there is no docking in game currently but is planned. You can use a mod called [0.16.0] [Plugin] Orbital & Planetary Construction V9.3 to build things in space. Happy Launching! Arrr! Capt'n Skunky KSP Community Manager
