HOW TO be accurate
Capt'n Skunky replied to mockingking's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Well, if you turn mechjeb off, you\'re not using it are you? I happen to like using MJ for everything so for me, having those extra control items do little more than add weight to the craft. But as you said, without seeing his design, we are really making suggestions blindly. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager -
HOW TO be accurate
Capt'n Skunky replied to mockingking's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Are you making sure to change your ascent path final alt to match your desired alt? You have to set that in both locations or weird things can happen. Also, make sure you have no SAS or ASAS parts on the craft, they are redundant with MJ and can cause it to get wonky. There will always be a little variance in your actual flight, but not as great as you seem to be having. And yes, MJ needs some RCS for control. I usually place 4 at the base of each stage fuel tanks just above the engines. Use the single jet versions(C7 design), not the 4-way thing. I only use the 4 way on the lander/payload. Cheers! That\'s just it, we moderators are human and don\'t coldly apply the rules. We have some leeway in how the rules are applied so small things from newer members don\'t instantly get smacked for a minor infraction. Now if a more established member were to pull a stunt like that, we\'d prolly give\'em a little smack. Also, I\'m not mad or angry with you. I post with an authoritative tone for the benefit of all members. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager

Again BB, that\'s not a question, merely a statement. How about you let the moderators worry about what is and what isn\'t against the rules. We seem to be doing just fine so far. Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager

BB, the OP wasn\'t asking *when* 0.16 would be released, just that he had dreamed about it. We can still dream. ;P Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager

Any way to view a design summary screen?

Correct, though when isn\'t possible to say. Let\'s just leave it at it being a planned feature. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager -

Fooking Google, messing up good stats that way. Buggers. It would be preferred for links to use the domain name for two reasons, one is that one could potentially lead to a fake copy of the KSP site in an attempt to phish login credentials from users and the other reason is that when you visit that link, you\'re no longer logged in. Any way to view a design summary screen?
Capt'n Skunky replied to Geredis's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Not currently since most of that information would be based on off the top of the head numbers. Until the most recent versions, the parts that the game came with were really intended as placeholders so all the numbers were pulled from this air without much thought. Now that Nova and C7 are working on parts, I expect that data to get better leading to the need to have that information being displayed. I do believe someone has made a utility that will read a .craft file and generate those stats. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager -
I have to admit. 'Elderberry Ni' doesn\'t exactly clue you in on it\'s purpose. Remember when searching that it only searches the forum you\'re in along with any subforums. So if you want to search all the forums, make sure your at the top. If you only want to search for add-ons, drop into that subforum and start your search there. Cheers! Um, someone has already beat you to it. crxTelemetry plugin and the Elderberry Ni display app. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager

Trust me when I tell you, Squad wants to get some merchandise up for sale as much as we want to buy it. There are a number of issues that need to be resolved and dealt with before this can happen and that\'s what is holding things up right now from what I can tell. T-shirts are a given, we know they will be able to offer them up easy enough. What would really fly off the shelves are figurines and plushies. I\'m sure once Dan has done a bunch of animations setting the appearance of a Kerbal more in stone, it will be easier for Squad to start looking at having them manufactured. For now, all we can do is dream up ideas. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager

Hey, I'm new around these parts!
Capt'n Skunky replied to TheChickenChaser's topic in Welcome Aboard
Well yeah, the tutorial hasn\'t been updated in a while and probably won\'t be anytime soon seeing as how much the game can change. They would be spending too much time redoing it after each update. You can always hop in the IRC channel if you need some people to ask noob questions. Most people in the chat are nice and helpful. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager -

Welcome to the KSP Forums! That\'s what\'s fun about sandbox games, there\'s no limit to what you can do. Build crazy contraptions and see if they fly, head over to the Challenges forum if you want specific goals. You can do anything at zombo.com. Happy Launching! Arrr! First thing you have to bear in mind is that the game is NOT optimized and has a ton of debug code, both of which can make the game sluggish on even the most powerful of systems. You are currently using an on-board video solution which will always provide sub-optimal performance. By adding a dedicated video card you get the advantage of having all your graphics being processed by the GPU on the card, which it\'s specifically optimized to do, and you get to use the VRAM on the card instead of the shared system RAM. Acer\'s aren\'t known for exactly being the best, in fact my experience has been that they are utter shite. That doesn\'t mean your system can\'t handle KSP, it just means you may need to help it with a crutch or two. I just tried to get some information on your specific model from Acer and they have NOTHING in the way of useful information on it. At best I found a generic manual, nothing bout what slots your computer may or may not have. Without such information, I can\'t make a suggestion as to what video card you could buy to improve your performance. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager

Who are these 'modarators' and where is 'genral decustions'. Son, if you expect people to take you seriously and intelligently, you need to put forth a little more effort in your communication skills. Is it really too much effort on your part to use a spell checker or even, *gasp*, a dictionary? Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager

How to see those in-gameTutorials?
Capt'n Skunky replied to Uszaty's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The tutorials should have been shown when you first started the game. If you want to go back and see them again, you could try deleting the settings.cfg file. That should reset the game to think it\'s being run for the first time. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager -

Hello...Im new here and I have a few things to ask.

Welcome to the KSP Forums! While Kerbin is not 1:1 scale with Earth, the physics have been tweaked to make launching from the surface of Kerbin approximate that of Earth. A LEO takes about 30 min to complete instead of 90 to keep the game from getting too boring waiting on orbits all the time. Happy Launching! Arrr! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager -

And finally some questions.
Capt'n Skunky replied to Dani-Sang's topic in KSP1 Modelling and Texturing Discussion
Dani, you might want to stop by the IRC channel. There\'s always a few plugin devs and modelers hanging about. You might be able to get some questions answered there. #KSPOfficial on Esper.net Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager -

It\'s not copypasta, it\'s a macro. You\'d use one too if you had to type it as much as I do. 8) Of course, if the post warrants it, I will modify it and add a line or two addressing the OP. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager
