Cinematic: Journey to Duna - Part II
Rocketscience101 replied to Nassault630's topic in KSP Fan Works
So is the second KSC good or bad? In your situation. -
The top of the crawler actually comes off, it is slid into place over the launchpad, and the crawler rolls away as before launch. It also has a gimbaling on it to keep the spacecraft upright, so it doesn't fall over at that incline up to the launch pad.

Or a soft one. I have had them snap off on landings below 3.5 mps.

I had a dream a few nights ago. I was on a space station, and there was a large room that you could jump around in. So ever since then, I have been researching the cost, and any other way to get to the International Space Station. Right now, for about a month stay, it costs about $50 million dollars. I don't have that money. So I am asking the developers, and people of several different forums and places, to help me. I am not asking for the money, I am asking for support from you guys, and I will, wear a patch if I get into space of larger companies, and will make make mentions of people who help me out the most. I know I said I am not asking for money, but I do need it. So if you would like to donate you can. Right now I don't have any place for you to send in money though, so please do not ask were to send it. That will come up soon. But I will let you guys know when I have a place set up. I know this is a hole ton of money and a very hard thing to do, but that has not shaken me, it has given me hope, because it is possible to do, and I plan on doing it.

He lead us into the beyond, and left us with a choice, shall we follow in his footsteps, or stay bound to this dying planet forever, I mad my choice, now its time to make yours.

How will you get to one of the planets?
Rocketscience101 replied to Candre's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm going to do what Nasa does. Wait, the time for the planets to eclipse, launch the rocket, then when I leave kerbin orbit and enter kerbol, I will try and fly it into the gravity field of the planet, if I miss, I will orbit kerbol, and do what I do for a mun mission, get into low orbit, and fire it when the target planet is rising. -
Kerbals at War - The very first KSP War movie
Rocketscience101 replied to Squeegy Mackoy's topic in KSP Fan Works
Harvester, will you please, pretty please find someone in squad to do something like this. -
647) You hit space to release your SRBs and you realize they aren\'t attached to the decouplers. 648) In testing your lander on Kerbin, you hit the ground clamp with an open landing leg and spin out of control

Was bored and thought what if we sent a probe to the Kerbal system, what would they react like. So I drew up a good idea of how they might react. If you can\'t read it, it says- 'Jeb, what is that?' 'I don\'t know? Lets crash into it!'

I just never noticed it, so I found it to be a coincidence.

They should just sell the parts separately then, at a cheaper price, so you can buy as many, and make models of some of the crazy designs we see now. I know that was off topic, also, I got the game while it was $10 USD, and I will get the full game at $10, I feel thats a steal with some of todays game designer ideas. They hand out the unfinished copy, at a cheaper price to the public, and get them interested, to tell other people about the game, then as they make it better, they make it a little more expensive, until the full release, were they really release it to the public.
-
I just realized this, and am probably going to get hated for saying this, but NASA uses the term KSC for Kennedy Space Center, in Orlando Florida! It is a coincidence that we here on the forum call our space center KSC as well but for Kerbal Space Center.

[Invention] My suggestion for the Kerbol system
Rocketscience101 replied to mincespy's topic in KSP Fan Works
Rocket engines also need oxygen to burn, so they bring their own. Which means that the O2 within the fumes could be enough to get it going. -
I showed it to my school, it was real popular, and because it was the free version I was showing them, was legal, but my schools tight security soon blocked it after christmas break.

This is the coolest thing ever! Good luck out there! I also would like to thank the KSP team, for putting this together, I hope this game ends up better than Minecraft.

[Raising Hand] Me I\'m doing it.

I chose the mini max because the nose-cone is made of balsa and could be carved to make the command module. Please note I have no proper carving tools or skills, just an exacto knife and some sandpaper. The fins had to be slightly modified and they\'re still too big, but I\'d rather have a stable flight than an exact kerbal replica. The 'paint' job was done by printing texture maps onto adhesive shipping labels. Finally, if anyone\'s curious, the rockets in the back are the comanche (orange one) and the patriot missile (with custom fins and retro paint job (both are Estes kits). Excuse me kind sir, but would you mind telling me were you got the pictures to make that rocket, I would love to make one myself, after I buy that rocket kit, tomorrow. maybe, IDK.

I am going to do this like NASA did, send Jeb up in the Mk1 pod, (I read in the dev blog, that it will be a 1 kerbal pod.) send up Who-ever is next in one of the airplane pods, and have one do a space walk, then I will walk on the mun with whoever get\'s the seat, and finally, I will land and walk on the minmus.

First Kerbal To Walk On The Mun/Minmus
Rocketscience101 replied to aceassasin's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I need to learn how to re-name the kerbals, so I can land Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins on the Mun, and Have Neil and Buzz walk around on the surface, so I can make a Apollo 11 remake and record it. -
I would buy them. (no sarcasm)l V But I use a mouse that doesn\'t need a pad :/ so when I am playing a game, i end up with the mouse halfway up the desk.

Well being that it was calculated, that 10,000 earths could fit inside jupiter, and it makes up a good quantity of planetary mass in our solar system. We are pretty small here. But hey, we are the only intelligent life form in the solar system.

Interesting research about stars and Kerbol.

SCIENCE! -
My Article- The possibilities of other worlds. By Johnson Tomly (Not my real name) I have been studying our world, the mun and minmus for some time. It takes me out on many hours in the night with a telescope observing them. While they may not by appearance support my idea of other worlds, I have asked that EVA\'s be taken to pick up samples. Of course, the space suits are just wax paper and cardboard, so spacewalking, is not a good idea at the moment, while we work on our new model of space suits. But within every rock, is the chemical properties of certain rocks on Kerbin. I have found in my studies, that the most abundant rock here on kerbin, is made of tightly compacted together pieces of glass, or to put it simply, it is just sand, that is crushed into a rock. To support my theory of other worlds, the rocks on the mun, must remain different material, which would make proof, that if other worlds exist, they too would have different materials than that of Kerbin. Although, it is difficult to identify stars as other worlds from Kerbin, even though we have those amazingly large telescopes that we can\'t seem to work with, it was only recently, while Jebediah Kerman was on the Dark side of the Mun, when he saw the minmus. It was not reported till a few years ago, and is now colonized with thousands of Kerbal astronauts. With recent developments on the Minmus, I believe astronomical outposts, with small to medium telescopes within them, could help us discover the new worlds and there muns. And whatever you do, please don\'t laugh at me. I truly believe that there are other worlds out there.
