What do you want the Kerbals to be?
Rocketscience101 replied to Endeavour's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I want Kerbals to be Kerbals. They don\'t need to be anyone else. -
Post EVERYTHING you know about the Mun Arch.
Rocketscience101 replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in KSP1 Discussion
It was programmed in by a group of devs. its virtual, and if was real, be made of the same rock material as the mun. -
[Invention] Kerbal Linguistical Standardization Society

No not really. -
You guys should check out the mars association in the fan base section. Here is some stuff you could really work with.

I think of minmus as a comet. A very large comet that had been grabbed by kerbin. Like Kerbin, comets orbit a star, if kerbin were in the right position at the right time, a comet, which could become minmus, could be caught by its gravity, just like when we do a de orbit burn to get to either the mun or the minmus. As kerbins gravity field captured the minmus. Many of you might wonder, but comets have gasses shooting out of them, making those great tail shape. This is made by depresserising gasses, within the comet, that shoots out of holes in the comet like a rocket, producing, little to no thrust, but the comet may have lost its gas, and became just a giant snow ball to land on.

Love the idea. I am working on a rocket to get me to 50 kilometers and return right now. I will put the download right on here. -
Interesting info on real space computers....
Rocketscience101 replied to combat squirrel's topic in KSP1 Discussion
We got to the moon on a computer less powerful than your cell phone. Please tell me more how 3g isn\'t fast enough. -
Everybody says something like this, because someone saw the video of the interview with harv, were he said that, but later, during a dev. discussion, he says that the terrain system isn\'t ready to release all of them at the same time. So he said, with planets he was going to release the rocky planets first, then the gas giants.

I see a hole ton of posts, that say Jeb, and all those who smile during flight, are insane. I don\'t think this is true. I used to think that he was the only trained astronaut of the group, and Bob and Bill are just rich, and not ready for it. I know his job is serious, but if you watch videos of todays astronauts, they actually have a lot of fun during the mission.

Ha, hsp. Thats a little ironic.

[Invention] My suggestion for the Kerbol system
Rocketscience101 replied to mincespy's topic in KSP Fan Works
Sulfur dioxide, is still very flammable. But, if this is added, no body land on the yellow spots on murs, unless you want fireworks kerbals on the mun will be saying. 'What was that.' -

Best Launch Abort ever (HD!)
Rocketscience101 replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in KSP1 Discussion
When using SRBs for a manned flight use as few as possible, especially when using large ones like those, I would have just had two. If you can\'t tell yet, me and Jeb get into a lot of arguments about the use of boosters. -
I don\'t think Jeb is a thrillmaster, I think he is just the only one who payed attention during training and knows what\'s going on. While Bob and Bill, either fell asleep, or doodled during class, and have absolutly no idea what is happening and relying on Jeb to get them were they need to get going. Which would explain why they are screaming until the engines are off, or you are about to land.

I couldn\'t think of anything to say so I\'ll write what\'s on my mind: SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE

I\'ve seen a middle seated kerbal named scott, who was selected by Jeb.

Music to listen to when launching rockets
Rocketscience101 replied to Pluto100's topic in The Lounge
Has anyone recommended The Final Countdown, By Europe, I like it, even though I don\'t listen to it often during launches -
Little piece of writing I did. I thought it was pretty good, but of course I am the artist. Hope you Like it. 8) Jeb looked at the rocket, it wasn’t very big, just barely halfway up the launch pad. It was obviously built by an expert, if it was supposed to get them into orbit. “It’s not very big.†He remarked. “It’s not supposed to be. We want it to be light as possible. As to not waist fuel.†Said one of the engineers. Doing a checklist. “Whats it called.†Jeb replied. “Verigan I, they are a step up from the original Asimov you guys were flying.†“Hopefully.†“Well, they are lighter, as I said. And with the third stage added on, we can use the second stage to get you guys in a more circular orbit.†The engineer said. “Are Bob and Bill ready.†He asked. “Are they ever?†Jeb replied. “To shay. Alright, launch is tomorrow. Pray this soda can doesn’t blow up.†The engineer said. “Over and out.†Jeb smirked. “There is no way, you are getting me into another one of these sardine cans, its cramped, and shaky, and Jeb is in there!†Bob yelled. Always the loud one of the group. Bill sitting in his seat, was pondering on the possibility of catastrophic failure. Jeb, going through the checklist, while laughing at Bob, standing just outside the capsule door, arguing with an engineer about how safe it was. “It’s not gonna be like getting in your car and driving to the store, this is difficult, we cannot promise much, but we can tell you this is much safer than the Asimov models you have been flying.†The engineer argued. “I mean come on, it’s only rocket science, you doubt us to much.†“I want to quit this job, and become a desk jockey for the Kerbal Paper Program, but my wife wouldn’t like the pay cut. Just let me sit at a desk, and do your paperwork, please.†Bob complained. “I told you, that job has been taken, besides, you can’t even sign autographs so the kids can read it, what are the chances of a official reading it.†The engineer said. “Hey Bob!†Jeb said. “What Jeb.†“I packed cake.†Immediately Bob sat in his seat, and buckled up, tightly. “I think we are go on this end.†Jeb told the engineer. Who smiled back at Jeb. “Alright then commander, you have the ship, bring her back in one piece.†“I’ll try.†Jeb said. “I wish they did unmanned tests first.†Bill replied. And with that the door closed. “Alright boys, all systems go. You ready.†The flight General said. “Do we get a countdown.†Bob replied. “So I can be prepared.†“No†Said the general, and hit the big red LAUNCH button, and looked back at the Verigan I, as she lifted off the pad. Back in the capsule, Jeb muted Bob, and Bill, to quiet their screaming through the space helmets, and kept mission control updated on everything. Soon the spacecraft was up at 20,000 meters above Kerbin’s surface. The final three tanks on Verigan one’s first stage, was nearly empty. Jeb could hear their Cap-com trying in vein, to calm down Bob and Bill. “Just give up man, I’ll keep you updated from were I’m sitting.†Jeb told him. They ran out of fuel, at about 38,000 meters above Kerbin. Jeb let go of the First stage, and fired the second one, turning his craft to the side for an orbit. But, with only two fuel tanks. It ran out about halfway around Kerbin, using the one tank they had, they fired until the Periapsis was at 75,000 meters above Kerbin. Well above the atmosphere, they had about 3/4th a tank of fuel left, and there apoapsis was about 300,000 meters above Kerbin. “So were are the cakes.†Bob said. “Oh yah, here you go.†Jeb handed Bob a bag of freeze dried cake. “What is this.†Bob said. “This is that freeze dried crap, were’s the cake.†“Bob, I can’t pack an entire cake on the craft, it weighs to much, and during launch, will make a mess. That is cake, just add some water.†Jeb said, handing Bob, a bottle of water. Bob ate the cake, yet still was not happy about being tricked onto the craft. Soon after two orbits, they were approaching their periapsis again. Jeb turned the craft around, about 30 seconds from the periapsis, and prepared the engines for decent. Once they were close enough to the periapsis, they fired the final stages last bit of fuel and landed in the middle of the Kerbalisca Ocean. “Mission control this is Verigan I, we had a pretty smooth flight, and a nice vacation. We’ll see you in a couple of hours.†Jeb spoke into his mic.

I personally agree that it may have been a former comet. Comets contain a hole tone of ice, and dwarf planets, are either farther out possibly in the asteroid belt or on the outer reaches of a solar system, that this could not be one. It may have run out of the gases that gave it that amazing tail, and kerbin, had intercepted its orbit, just at the right point, that put it in a good position to orbit kerbin. Possibly the last of the gasses was used to put it in it\'s final orbit, because it may have been in an escape orbit. These things may happen all the time with larger planets, like Jupiter, and smaller ones like Mars. I personally believe that is how Mars received its two moons in the first place. Although, I am surprised on how the Minmus is so round, many comets resemble potatoes, like Phobos and Demos, Mars\'s moons. This may be caused by impacts, shortly after the Minmus had began orbiting the Kerbin. Which had made it much smaller than what it was originally. The seas that we may see on the Minmus are most likely very large impacts. After the impacts, the dust around the Minmus, soon formed the outer layer we may see, because of gravity, larger dust particles picked up smaller ones, making them larger, and turning into the Minmus. Perhaps, the Minmus was formed, by gravity forming the ice particles from a destroyed comet, which made a smaller version of the Mun. Things like things though, are believed to take millions of years. So most recently do we see the finished product of the gravity forming planets, and moons.

My ailerons are having a problem, they won\'t go on in the right position, I can\'t figure it out, can someone make a video of someone making a spaceplane, so that way we can see how to do this for those of us having trouble. The best video I saw, was someone experimenting, and he was doing it all wrong. No offense if you are reading this post, but that plane sucked. So, could someone help me make an airplane, I get the basic image down, but then I try to install the ailerons, and they get all mixed up in there position.

FINALLY DID IT, I made it to the mun and back. I know that I have posted something similar. But this is different, last time I pancaked into the dark side of the mun during the return. So this is a big accomplishment.
