Hi all. Im fully updated to 1.4.1 with MH and wanted to start a new career however I cant stand the science grind that goes with it. I used in 1.3.1 a mod called For Science which automatically does the science bits for you. I checked out the mod version and it still states it is for 1.3.1 but I thought, what the heck, lets try it on 1.4.1...... I can happily confirm that the mod is working perfectly on this latest version.....thought I'd let you all know in-case anyone is wanting this

Kerbal Space Program update 1.4 Grand Discussion thread.
maceemiller replied to UomoCapra's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Im playing a game....obviously I dont take it as seriously as some....its a game.....on a computer....just a game. As much as I love KSP, its not real life....for me, so what if the "bugs" are there....do I really care? Will these bugs change my real life with my wife and child? ....nope, not at all. I'll keep paying for any future DLC because I love this......game.....KSP is amazing on any format, on any version, on any patch...... Bugs....I dont care for them, that's my outlook....ive played worse games with bigger bugs -

Kerbal Space Program update 1.4 Grand Discussion thread.
maceemiller replied to UomoCapra's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Mmmmm....so far im still on 1.3.1 and holding off of updating due to the mish-mash of positive-negative comments ive been reading in this thread. Got nothing to do with the 10 or so mods I use that will need updating, I can play with stock quite happy but it does feel to me quite a raw update in lue of MH. Maybe im wrong to not update just yet but I do trust the comments typed, all of them, good and bad. Either way, KSP still rocking my gaming world so I guess it doesnt matter either way. -
I too have this issue and cannot explain it. Im running KSP n its own partition on a LITE version on Windows 7 and while it runs flawlessly 95% of the time there is that one occasion it will run choppy from the loading screen, even from cold which requires a restart......problem gone. Only ever had in 1.3.1

Urmmmm, am I missing something here? I thought it was the Dakar, not the Red Bull Air Race..... May decline to enter now as it doesnt feel like a level playing field.... EDIT.....I dont mind losing....winning was never an option but this is like putting a VW Camper alongside a MIG......

Aero FX Rendering bugs [1.3.1]
maceemiller replied to Adelaar's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Never seen or experienced anything like that. Must be a graphics card issue... -
Correct, I did try Linux but I couldnt get it working properly for me however now I know creating a new partition etc works well, I may well create a new small partition and play around with various linux releases to see if I can get one working which im sure will please @Geonovast

I do have now a C: and a D: drives on one HDD and both have windows 7 on. My C: drive has a normal version of windows 7 ultimate on and all my everyday stuff on it. When I switch my laptop on now I choose to boot from D: which has a slim version of windows 7 running only a few processes and KSP.....nothing else....this is my dedicated KSP install now.

Im sure I can write something up

If this is the wrong place to post then please move So, after a few years of playing KSP on my C: drive Ive noticed it starting to become sluggish from time to time. Ive been looking at the forum (and other sites) trying to stop the sluggishnes from happening but to no avail. Tried many "fixes" but nothing really worked for me. Long story short I came across an idea of sticking KSP on a seperate partition on a slimmed-down version on Windows 7 (I tried Linux but epic fail for me). Wow! I have to say that now KSP is running as smooth as butter, even with a 200 part craft, even on my rubbish laptop : HP Elitebook 8440p with 8GB RAM, nvidia NVS 3100M, 2.4GHZ CPU The difference is out of this world if im honest.....I only partitioned 80GB of my HDD to it yet I will only ever use this to play the game. I still cant beautify the game with the likes of EVE or scatterer (rubbish graphics card) but that doesnt matter......the key here is the timer stays on green 99.9% of the time where on my C: it would be on constant yellow even with a single command pod on the launchpad..... ....yes, I understand it could be many things on the C: causing that yet Im always defragging, virus scanning, etc so Im putting it down to background processes (which I have looked into and disabled etc). For me anyway it has seriously improved my experience on KSP......I recommend this to all players on low-end machines, I can help if you like, but this, for me, is a game changer
