  1. Hey Allista, I've been having lots of random crashes since I've installed this mod (thread on the crashes: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/105737-Lots-of-crashes-at-random-times-modded-install?p=1642835#post1642835 ) and I suspect that this mod might be causing it, but not 100% sure. Theres nothing directly pointing to it, just that they kind of started a lot after I installed the hangar mod.
  2. Hi, I've been having lots of random crashes recently with KSP which happen at random times, usually when switching windows or switching ships. I've looked at the error info and most of them are something about mono.dll and some are for the KSP.exe itself. Sometimes it'll give the windows error notice that KSP has stopped working, but more often than not, it'll just outright CTD. I have a whole bunch of them zipped into this file here: http://sta.sh/0mhwd1myz16 Windows 8.1 64bit KSP 0.90 Mods: B9 Aerospace (though the version before the one released a few days ago, should check that, just saw a couple min ago that there was an update) Edit: Now it's updated to 5.2.8, will have to see if there are crashes. MechJeb2 2.4.2 dev build 381 Mechjeb extension for NEAR http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/60933 This was after the crashes were happening. NEAR 1.3.1 Stock part revamp 1.6 (unless theres been an update since Dec 19th) Hangar mod http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/88933-0-90-0-Hangar-v2-0-2 Edit: The problems seem to have started after I installed the hangar mod, but theres also an update, so it's updated as of right now, version 2.0.2 Kerbal Attachment System 0.4.10 Edit: Apparently there were a few that weren't updated. Since the problems started after I installed the hangar mod, I suspect that mod, but not sure. Have to see if crashes still happen.
  3. The ascent seems to work better, yes, although the landing stuff in atmosphere is off target by a few kilometers still.
  4. I just do rockets though, haven't played around with spaceplanes, or planes. As for setting the gravity turn as low as possible, you mean setting the automatic altitude turn in the ascent editor all the way to the left? Just checking. I'll also check out that optional module. Edit: I tried to limit the acceleration of the rocket to 1.8 m/s, it couldn't even lift off Maybe you were talking about spaceplanes?
  5. I haven't had any problems with it. Have you tried limiting angle of attack? I also like it, saves a heck of a lot on fuel for one, except I'm kind of having two problems: 1. MechJeb doesn't recognize the terminal velocity and lets the rocket go right through without even trying to lower the throttle. 2. Landing in atmosphere doesn't seem very precise with NEAR, I tried to get it to land at the VAB and the KSC launchpad, but it keeps going at least a kilometer off target, same with targeted landings elsewhere. It actually seems to work better without a landing engine, but even then, it was still over a kilometer off target.
  6. @nohey, maybe something is breaking midflight? Use F3 to check the flight events log since if something broke, it'll be in there. Also, what does your ship look like? Anyways, in addition to the previous post about issues with the landing, I tested it out a bit more with a proper lander (that is, with an engine under it and all) and it's still going at least a kilometer off target. Then I tried with 'land at target' (elsewhere this time) and it was still a kilometer off. For some reason though, it's actually better when I don't have RCS or an engine under it, or the tanks for them. I think it might be NEAR since before I put it in, the targeting was a whole lot better, should check that out. Edit: Okay, it actually works better without NEAR, so it looks like some problem in relation to the NEAR mod. Edit: Also, I've got what looks like an actual bug, which is with NEAR active. During the final descent, the braking speed glitches out into some massive number with 12 rows of zeroes. It goes away when it does the actual braking burn.
  7. I understand and know that with the SRBs, I was just saying that with NEAR, it doesn't even try to change the throttle when I have 'limit to terminal velocity' on.
  8. Okay. It's really only an issue with the boosters, B9s heavy lifter engines, and some of the more powerful engines. Mostly the boosters and those heavy lifter engines. Also, a possible issue I'm noticing, when I tried to use the landing guidance to land at either the VAB roof or the launchpad, each time (two or three times) it tried to do a landing, it was over 3km off target. I checked with a regular 'pick target on map' landing and it got it within a kilometer. It might be because my 'lander' looks like this: Which is just a pod with science stuff on it that I decided to slap an RCS tank and RCS nodes on so that I could get more precise biome landings. Not sure why MechJeb doesn't use RCS in atmosphere to fine tune the landing precision.
  9. Hi, I'm just letting you guys know that for some reason, with NEAR, MechJeb just completely ignores the terminal velocity when I use ascent guidance and my ships routinely break the sound barrier and get the reentry plasma effects. This especially happens with the S1 SRB since that one tends to just ram your ship through the atmosphere. I'm just wondering when this might get fixed. I'm using the latest dev build, B9 Aerospace, NEAR, and the hangar mod.
