KSP Interstellar Extended Support Thread
Nansuchao replied to FreeThinker's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I think it's a good idea, but I have no idea of which engine can use Kerosene in KSPI-E. A patch for MFT would also be welcomed, just in case... -
KSP Interstellar Extended Continued Development Thread

The nozzle seems very good. Usually small nozzles are used for lifters and larger ones for the vacuum of space. Then there are ones like the SSME (Space Shuttle Main Engines) that were in the middle, to be used both in atmo and space, but they provide very low thrust at sea level. -

About the rotating engines, I'm experimenting with that and it's usually not a very good idea. IR joints are very wobbly with KJR too, and if you can make them stable enough, it happens that one engine has a different thrust than the another, with stability issues. However, with an Atilla and enough energy, you can land vertically without too much hassle, with a good piloting. -

KSP Interstellar Extended Support Thread

As far as I know, it is possible to build a spaceplane able to lift off from the runway, reach orbit and travel at warp speed, and there was a couple of them here, few months ago. The bestway to find it out, is to try by yourself, and you'll probably succeed. @FreeThinker what do you think about a proper thread for Interstellar Extended ships? -
Thanks for everything you've done. I'm addicted to many of your mods, so thanks again for improving the gameplay experience of a lot of players. Hope to see you around.

KSP Interstellar Extended Support Thread

I have a list. First FAR, I know there is a beta version available on Git, but it seems not so stable atm, texture replacer was replaced with Replaced Texture replacer, that needs me to tweak many texures, bothering but I can afford that. Infernal Robotics was not so stable in 1.2.2 but it works for me, however in 1.3 it seems worst. Scatterer is still broken in 1.3, not completely but however a lot. Bon Voyage is not updated, it seems that RealGecko has abandoned the forum. Updating Kerbal Construction Time is a core. There ia beta for 1.3 but I need to be sure it doesn't mess things, as KCT is well known to be messy sometimes. Kopernicus works at half, and I need if I want to continue the storytelling. L-Tech Industries it seems abandoned and I have his science experiments on all of my interplanetary ships. NavBall Adjustor is not updated, bu I can live without it, if I really need. And more than this, there are a couple of mods that I need for the story telling that are probably abandoned and do not work in 1.3 but are perfect in 1.2.2. So, as you see, I still have to be patient and wait to update. I tried but KSP doesn't load at all, cause probably there is something else that needs an update or at least a recompile. But I'm ok with 1.2.2, except for this generator thing. If the worst come to the worst, I'll avoid to use reactors on some ships or some situations. -

You're right, it works flawlessy in this version. Sadly I can't still update my series to 1.3. -

Sure I will. Is that version for 1.2.2 or 1.3? -

Yes, undocking or just decouple a part from your main ship nuclear powered. The reactor remains active, but the generator stop to provide energy. -

I have this issue with every spaceplane that dock and undock with a space station, with 2 TORY and 2 DCNTJ and with a EVE rover that was nuclear powered. My install is heavily modded, if you want I can share a short video about that. -

@FreeThinker I'm sprry to bother you, but every time a decouple a part from my ship, by staging OR undocking, the generator attached to a reactor, or inside an engine stop to produce energy. This is usually not a big issue when you're in orbit, cause a F5/F9 will solve the problem, but it becomes dangerous when you have to reload several times entering the atmosphere of Eve at orbital speed. Is there a way to fix it? I'm still on 1.2.2, but I saw the same issue in 1.3. -
Is someone still working on this mod?

@Li0n, not to bother you, but are you still working on this? I really miss it in 1.3 -

I'm still in 1.2.2, so i have no idea yet. Once upon a time Texture Replacer used to change the NavBall texture with custom ones, but it doesn't work anymore. It's still possible to change it however. If you find a better texture, you can manually change it in the SQUAD folder.

Delete the MM ConfigCache. I did the same process a few months ago without issues.

Overmodded KSP? This doesn't esist at all, sir.
