No matter how long I am away, when I come back I find one thing remains a constant: People believe their vision of the game is the way it should be, everybody should agree with them, and anybody who doesn't is just wrong and possibly stupid.

People like to be upset.

I have granted no permissions, because the mods are released to the public domain or otherwise licensed openly and therefore my permission is not required nor could I give it because the assets are no longer mine. I want that to be clear. Carry on.

I don't have any interesting screenshots, but I did start a career after not touching the game in a very long time. I spent about an hour trying to burn directly into orbit before I remembered that's not how it's done.

Using life support drained a lot of the fun out of the game for me. That is all.

'Tis but a farcical diversion.

Any interest in something like Skyrim's STEP for KSP?

It was called community guidelines or standards or some such thing. It was a couple years ago. Feel free to dig through my activity if you want to try and find it. You'll know it when you see it. -

What would be your plans if you had a trillion dollars?
Randazzo replied to Piatzin's topic in The Lounge
Well, if I couldn't spend it any of it on myself... I'd drop a quarter of it, in cash of small bills, from a plane, over each of the following: Chicago, Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles. No warning for the local authorities, just 250 million in fives and tens fluttering down from the sky. Should be fun to watch. -
Tell a minor accomplishment you're disproportionately proud of.

Completing "take a such-and-such reading at this altitude on kerbin" with a plane. I had been launching rockets at the area like missiles, hoping to cross the area at the right altitude. -
is there a mod that makes asymetrical crafts burn symetrically?

So, you have a plane on a conveyor belt...

For my two cents the difference between a fully recoverable SSTO space plane and a disposable rocket is time. Do I really feel like spending another 10-15 minutes landing at the KSC runway every time I want to send some crew or cargo up to orbit? Are the funds saved worth the extra hassle? For me the answer is usually no and no. A cheap disposable suits me better.

You are technically correct, sending a 2900lb car into orbit is "easy" as far as payloads are concerned, but that's not really the point. The Falcon Heavy launch is not significant for its test payload. They sent a wheel of cheese up in the Falcon 9, but that's not what made it special either. The point is that they now have a proven rocket that is more powerful than anything else currently available, at a fraction of the cost - if the SpaceX estimates are even relatively accurate. Of course, "easy" in rocket science is still really hard, too.
