  1. After the latest terrain changes, I wouldn't go anywhere lower than 7km.
  2. 1) Yes. 2) Yes, have debug = true on the launchpad module in the part .cfg
  3. Here's a base I built on Pol back in 0.18. The mountains there are ridiculous. My recommendation is to drop a rover and drive until you find a suitable spot. Some of the most interesting terrain is also the most rugged. In the photo above, the suitable landing area was maybe 100m across.
  4. I personally exclusively use the 1x6 solar panels (when I don't need the power of a Gigantor or the robustness of an OX-STAT), so an unrolling would be perfect for me.
  5. ...now why didn't I think of that.My solution to the wacky models was to stick them on the "inside" of a structural girder with 2x symmetry, facing each other, so the backside of the cicuitboard is the only thing visible. EDIT: Think it'd break existing ships if I changed the rescalefactor on the magnetometers?
  6. Ah, sorry to have poked this --- for some reason google pageranks this higher than the release.
  7. Awesome, nice to see your patch dll getting it's own thread! This makes things much easier. +rep.
  8. Good idea. Also nice would be sort options for flights, e.g "sort alphabetically" and "sort by current SoI" in addition to the current sort by launch date.
  9. My approach to stop rovers from front-flipping while braking is to remap rover controls to ijkl and hold nose-up during hard stops. This only works well if you have a decent reaction wheel. It's also nice since you can manually align for a landing if a jump gets you airtime, and you can "lean into turns" to maneuver a bit faster.
  10. Remove mod (or stock) parts you don't need, don't add UR textures that aren't worth it (like gilly --- a high res potato is still a potato), and lower the res of textures that don't need full size.
  11. Check your memory usage. KSP crashes when it passes around 3.6GB.
  12. It is definitely exciting to fly a kethane engine on Duna --- especially if you're coming in from a direct aerocapture, hoping drogue 'chutes will slow you down enough for the engine to light...
  13. Accessibility is important! Even though the game is still in development, Squad should make sure the UI is readable by all players.
  14. Yay Tingle! Now I'll spend some time playing with textures to try and balance between aesthetics and memory footprint, possibly adding flair of my own. Is it cool if I redistribute now? Also what existing bodies did you tweak, and how?
  15. Anecdote is not the same as data. And as you can see, we clearly exist.
  16. Jeb is doing the Gilly Boogaloo after doing an Extreme EVA descent.
  17. ...Unless I know someone's preferred pronoun set, I use "they". It really isn't hard.
  18. Spinny-things have the very useful feature of telling a user that the game is still working rather than frozen.
