SQUAD refuses to give us a rigid body physics model, which is one of the main problems. Even KJR doesn't fix it sadly. Rep for the first person that does.
You wouldn't have to use existing parts, you could pay for new ones. It would just remove recovery funds from the game, which makes it unbalanced anyways.
So you want an extremely laggy game so it can be incredibley realistic in one (uninportant) aspect, when there isn't even proper life support implemented.
KSP's recovery system is extremely unrealistic, what I suggest is that you could recover parts into a stockpile, which could then be used for future missions. The same logic could apply to fuel onboard.
