  1. So far the fairings are a double edged blade for me. The draw your fairings makes me love it (the delta 6925 metallic fairings were finally possible!) but the confetti makes it bad when I try to make "interstage fairings", because it doesn't allow me to see trajectories in map view if even a tiny bit is slamming onto the side of a vessel. The textures are pretty meh, but I can live with it. Some fairings on subassemblies disappear, or if I re attach them. I must say though, it allows me to draw new shapes for rocket stages, and allows many diameters of parts (visually). The system is very frustrating to work with, cause it pretty much says " you can make your fairing like this, but no clipping!" The fairing base texture is bad too...
  2. I don't have that much programming experience, and does running a Mac have some setbacks to it? (Seeing that microsoft visual C# is quite common)
  3. I'd like to make a cube/square, with adjustable height length width. I'm aware that such parts are in the planned features, but I'd like to be able to use such a part as soon as possible.
  4. Applogies if this has already been said, but how do you make new part shapes for this mod?
  5. 10/10, we tend to occupy the replica sides of the ksp spacecraft exchange...Which results in us ending up on similar threads all the time...
  6. Here is my Delta II 6925, almost the same as the rocket above, but with another fairing, GPS, and a Star 27 SRB. This time the GPS is a stowed version. Download
  7. Atlas-Centaur, I think I've got the ½ staging under control, though I must say, it still needs optimizations... I might work on a Pioneer 10 or a Pioneer Venus probe for it.
  8. The GPS Block II spacecraft became the first operational and public GPS system in the world, and were launched from 1989-1990, becoming the first spacecrafts to be carried into space by a Delta II rocket. GPS systems have changed the world, allowing location and time information anywhere in the world. Download
  9. Here's a sneak peek at my next version of the rocket, the Delta 6925 (Without the "Straight eight" fairing, and instead the metallic fairing) with my GPS Block II spacecraft, basically the payload the Delta II first launched.
  10. The Delta II 6925 was a rocket flown 14 times from 1989-1992 with no failures. This one features the "Straight Eight" Fairings (referring to the fact that the fairing is straight up the central core). It has 9 Castor 4A SRB's, the wordy Extra Extended Long Tank Thor with an RS-27, the Hypergolic Delta K, and a Solid fuel Star 48. The only launch with the Delta 6925-8 was with the HS-376 Palapa B2R, a reflight of Palapa 2, after the Star 48 kick motor failed after being released from the Space Shuttle in 1984. It was retrieved, refurbished, and then relaunched flawlessly in 1990. -This Replica, having been built in 1.0, may suffer from low Delta-V in 1.0.2, so adding fuel to the Central first stage is recommended, and note that the Star 48 and HS-376 kick motors are SRBs, so KER is recommended for Delta-V adjustments.
  11. Here is my Delta 2 (6925-8 variant to be precise, I may add more Delta 2's someday after all!) It also contains a HS-376 Comsat equipped with an internal kick motor. I may add a GPS version as well. Download http://kerbalx.com/SaturnianBlue/Delta-6925-8+HS-376
  12. Here's my Delta 6925-8, which flew 14 times with no failures from 1989 to 1992. I've kept the scale to just about 100%. My Star 48 SRB has about 304 m/s of Delta-V, and the SRB on the HS-376 has 404 (Hard to do SRB equipped maneuvers without knowing Delta-V after all!). This Recreation was built in 1.0, so it may have too little delta-v in 1.0.2. For GTO insertion, use the Delta-K stage till you have 305 m/s left, stage, then fire the Star 48. 13. KER, KAC are my must have mods, others are procedural parts, IR, Tweackscale, Procedural fairings, Transfer Window Planner, and Ambient Light Adjustment.
  14. The Delta 3 has been built! Please note, the fuel values are optimized for 1.0 and the payload, and even in 1.0.2, it would be ridiculous fully fueled (Real scale) The Delta 3 was initiated as a response to increasingly high payloads in the satellite market. Built to carry 3.8 metric tones to GTO, it contained a beefier kerosene tank, shorter than the Delta 2's but equaling in fuel amount. The SRB's were upgraded, and a Cryogenic Upperstage was built, unlike the Delta K Hypergolic fuel mixture 2nd stage on the Delta 2. The first launch in 1998 ended in failure 73 secs in the flight due to a faulty guidance system, and the RSO (Range Safety Officer) destroyed the rocket and the payload, Galaxy 10. The second launch put Orion 3 in a useless orbit due to a defect in the 2nd stage. The last launch in 2000 succeed in carrying a dummy payload to an specified orbit (though on the lower part of its margin. However, development on the Delta 4 led to its replacement. 15. I'm working on Delta, Delta 2, and Delta 3 and maybe an Atlas V, i'm almost done with the Delta 3, I'll try and get the download tomorrow. I've given a payload like the Galaxy 10 satellite on the Delta 3 (which sadly failed to reach orbit)
  16. I've done MESSENGER, Dawn, and Delta II recreations, and I have done a whole imgur album on the MESSENGER mission going into detail of it's history.
  17. Usually I may spend only an hour building rockets, but given a project (such as my MESSENGER recreation), I spend over 30 hours building the craft. It may take a few hours building a sorta replica rocket, but far more for complex craft.
  18. I'm currently on ksp 1.0, bit lazy to update to 1.0.2, waiting for 1.0.3. I keep a .90 save because updating the game with Mac is rather tedious. The computer ran out of storage, thank goodness for a new hardrive... *Thanks for the rep!
  19. I was randomly searching around the space simulator areas on wikipedia, and so I found ksp (still 0.13!)but my computer couldn't really support even the .13 demo, so I played around in .10.2, but my interest in KSP has varied a lot, but I was able to get the game in 0.90 beta... Got it in the beginning on 2015.
  20. Awesome, when I get my career started, this'll influence my missions alot, I like to replicate real missions. I do have a suggestion, what more contracts from other nations besides mainly USA and Russia (Ex. hayabusa) ? Also wondering, are the interplanetary missions launched from the space shuttle covered? Also, weren't the Surveyors landers, and it was Ranger that was an impactor?
  21. I haven't been to Gilly strangely, while I did make a pass of a couple hundred kilometers once. Never landed on Duna, don't think I've orbited it (only flyby), nor for Ike. Jool: I flew infiniglide planes out there in .90 in hyperedit, but despite being perfectly capable of going there, I haven't really, because I get distracted in other projects and don't really have time for it, But I certainly plan to go there in the future. Havent been to Tylo, Vall, Bop, or Pol either, for the same reasons above... (Laythe, I test flew planes in Hyperedit) Eeloo: never been there in stock, despite building a Titan 4 and a Cassini and flying within 15km in OPM... *Have been to Bop when I moved it out into a orbit similar to Dres.
  22. I'd love to go to plenty of places in the solar system, so first, cruising through the blue skies of Saturn sounds cool, but so would climbing up Iapetus's ridges, as well as the seas on Titan. I'd visit mercury's canyons and Caloris Basin, or maybe operate a submarine through the oceans of Europa. Io seems like a cool place, with the strange ground, or maybe visit Prometheus, one of its volcanoes. I'd visit the cliffs of Miranda, or Enceladus, watching geysers with Saturn in the background. Triton, for the same reason would make a visit magnificent. Maybe a Scattered Disk object would be an interesting place to go!
  23. Huh, the NEAR aero has no soup sphere, so it natural to go that fast (300 meters per second) I generally start gravity turn at 1 km to 10 km at 40 degrees in NEAR. What confuses me more is the spacecraft breaking partially tearing off, while the Delta 2 rocket is unharmed. I do have 4 struts on each SRB (9 of them) now. It does have a bad case of 6 death kraken too...
