parts [1.12.x] Sounding Rockets! Start small. Dream big!
SaturnianBlue replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So should I just move the contents of that Gamedata folder out? As well as throw out the Gamedata folder (its the one with sounding rockets)? I've tried putting all of the things I get in the.zip file directly in, but that hasn't helped. -

Also, seems to say the part was not compiled correctly in the Debug menu. -

Hmm, is there an installation guide to Sounding rockets? I don't have the parts of sounding rockets available, and I have USI Tools in the KSP Gamedata folder, as well as the sounding rockets folder. -

My stock Replica Of Giotto. -
I've been working on modded crafts recently, so I thought that it would be good to build a stock replica, so here is Giotto, ESA's first cometary probe, the first to flyby comets twice, to use an earth flyby, and took the first detailed pictures of a cometary nucleus. This replica also contains a 3 stage Ariane 1 rocket, with a 4 engine/4fin stage, and a thin 2nd and 3rd stages. I've made this replica for only 181 parts, so performance will be vastly better than other high count replicas. Clamshell Fairings were used in the album below. Download (KerbalX) Stats: 63,287 Kg total, 5376 Vaccum D/v, 1380 kg probe, 834m/s probe rocket, 225m/s forward translation, rocket liftoff TWR is 1.29. 60,556 funds. Flight Instructions: - 100% thrust, SAS, liftoff! - Be wary of potential instability, being a tall and skinny rocket. - Turn 10 degrees East around 1km up. - Stage stages as needed, go into a elliptical orbit around Kerbin, and then you can use Giotto's main engine (IRL a SRB, but since there are no SRBs at .625M, I've gone for a LFO rocket) to reach interplanetary space if you wish. Thanks for reading, leave some rep if you like this replica!

Nah, it's fine, I'd love to see what you can do with tweakscale after all! Besides, variety rocks. -

Giotto, ESA's Cometary probe, and the Ariane 1. I'm done detailing, now I need to get this thing flying. Thought I'd better make something stock having made so many modded probes and rockets the past few weeks. -

So my next modded craft project involves lots of extermination. Daleks.... *2005 version The Bottom isn't done yet, and i'm facing overheat issues due to overheat stock bug, i'm trying to make it real scale. -
9/10, the quote fits KSP pretty well in my opinion, and certainly respectable badges you have there.

6/10 A kiwi fruit bird? Though if this 42 suggests the answer to life, the universe and everything... Might want to improve the organization a bit.

High detail NASA probes [DEV THREAD]

I love the detail on the replicas, they have far less parts than my modded replicas. -
2/10 vaguely remember you from some page?

Pioneer 10/11 maybe the best KSP replica of the probe? Also the Atlas-Centaur that launched it, sadly no half stages. -
This is my 2nd modded replica, and chronologically the first in my Exploring The Gas Giants series, which will take a while to produce. Mods Required: Dmagic Orbital Science, Infernal Robotics, Procedural Fairings, Procedural Parts, and tweakscale, and Stock Clamshell Fairings greatly improves the quality. Stats: Probe weight is about 700 Kg, 165 parts, rocket is about 314 total including probe. Scale is about 77% vs real life. TWR is about 1.38. Default Centaur thrust is about 130, full thrust recommended. The Probe is highly detailed, and in fact, the scaling tweak scale can do was actually a problem when trying to simulate science experiments. Sadly, I wasn't able to simulate the classical half stage in the technique I built the probe. Also, at 10-100X warp, some parts may get very hot, a stock game bug caused by clipping. Also, the parts may be offset due to a procedural parts bug, so you will have to move the insulation panel base, sustainer engine, the Centaur top cover, and the probe core on the antennae. Download Here is the highly detailed KSP recreation which is aided with IRL images. Flight Tips: The Sustainer Engine has low TWR, so you should pitch up to 30 or so degrees above the horizon. The rocket launches 90 degrees to the side, so I recommend you turn it 90 degrees too. The sustainer *might* explode during half stage jettison. Also, you should add batteries to Pioneer 10/11, as the original doesn't have even have 100 Electric charge. If you download this replica, post your experiences below, and if you have some subassemblies for the Atlas-Centaur, feel free to post. Thanks for reading, leave some rep if you enjoy!

Show off your awesome KSP pictures!

Thought I might spend my hundredth post on something awesome, Pioneer 11 passing under the rings of Sarnus in the Outer Planets Mod, and I'll be making a full album about Pioneer 10/11 later today. -

Try giving it the arm, and giving the mast some more detail, maybe add the antennas, shrink the probe body for MER, though LADEE looks good to me.
