You didn't come off as snarky, it's ok. The best laptop I could find under $315 (which is £250) was this on Amazon, if you're just playing KSP you'll want to find one with good single-core performance. This is refurbished, 2.67GHz i7 (not sure if dual-core or quad core, but it's likely dual-core). Should play KSP decently, and has 8GB of RAM, so it can run a lot of mods as well. Should be usable for a while. I'd get the i7 one due to Intel having higher IPC than the AMD processor in the Amazon one.

@Star-Eagle What would your budet for a PC be, and are you going to need a laptop (sorry if you've already said if you need one). It'll be cheaper to get a desktop with better specs.

Yep they will. I might throw together a HTPC with a Ryzen-based APU and use that for CSGO and indie games.
-
@Elthy He asked what the person above him was talking about with those numbers for GPUs meant and I explaines them a bit, for KSP I'd grab a RX 470 so you also have the choice of playing other games.
-
It would be GTX 540/640/740/940, but the -40 ones are laptop-only. Desktops start at -50.
-
It's very likely the same. I could install Windows 7 and try it on that but I don't have time for that and wouldn't like to reinstall a bunch of stuff.

Remember: higher RAM speeds improves performance for Ryzen, AFAIK. It increases the speed the two CCXs exchange data at, a test comparing Haswell and Ryzen with 3600MHz RAM might be different (I've only been told about this, haven't tested it).

Reddit's annual social experiment is always great. I'm taking the lead in making Megumin pixel art, and helping the AMD logo.

Farewell @sal_vager! You're easily one of my favorite members here and I'm going to miss you a lot!

9/10 Really good drawing!

Welcome @SecantSystems! I first heard of KSP from a super old video. Such an old video, I fell in love with the game at first sight.

Welcome @lordbescot!

Oops, was talking about US. Yeah, you are right. It should be over soon, though.

You should all join the forum Steam group if you aren't already in it. And add me as a friend if you want to play anything. https://steamcommunity.com/groups/kspforum

Looks awesome! Wish I could see them down in SoCal. Might have to go up to Scandinavia and see the auroras sometime.

Here in the south south west we have clouds sometimes and occasional rain. Nothing interesting. Nice that the drought is pretty much over due to the huge amounts of rain in January/February.

Shoulda called it Brrrrrrrrrt, cause it's an A-10 (or at least looks like one, I don't know my planes very well)

If I remember right, there was a story like that on r/pcmasterrace. Here's a good price/perf PC that looks nice too. I threw an aftermarket CPU cooler in to keep temperatures low. You don't need one, though. Should run KSP nicely, but if you can spare another $70 or so you can get a Z270 chipset motherboard and an overclockable i5 to run KSP a lot better. If you overclock the i5 you should be able to hit 4.2GHz or so on the M9i, with a Cryorig H7 you can likely hit 4.4GHz.
