Fuel-powered wheel?
Tankman101 replied to Crusher48's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
If you want a LFO crawler you should use fuel cells to power the wheels. -
The first picture has the fuel tanks acting essentially as fins, adding more drag farther back on the craft. I doubt any amount of mass changes will help that. The second picture has what I assume to be a returning mun lander with a mostly empty fuel tank entering nose first due to the capsule moving the CoM forwards. Honestly it's stubby enough that I think that's fine. Keep in mind reducing the mass also would have an a(/e , I have no clue)ffect on the lander capsules (They would also need to be lighter). As for the tiny lander with an octo and science junior, keep in mind the radial parachutes weigh a lot. There's also at least six shielded solar panels above the Sci Jr. The thing may be heavy, but not heavy enough to be a counterweight. Overall I'm not convinced there is a problem. At least not yet.

I just want to point out that Zero-Point is in a different class of fairing (Purely inline). Comparing stock fairings to Zero-Point is like comparing apples to pineapples It's also worth pointing out that ProcFairings look REALLY bad.

Another Race (AI)
Tankman101 replied to Gameslinx's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
It is, under Miscellaneous. -
Probably because each KW segment was a new part. That and also they wanted something procedural.

More Gameplay features

Arbitrary failures by their nature provide no useful feedback. They are arbitrary, purely the device of RNGesus himself. There is nothing to be gained from knowing what failed other than "RNG KILLED IT SON!". As for the Falcon 9, KSP doesn't have the tools to replicate the failsafe for that (Opposite engine shutting off automatically) and besides, IRL those are mechanical failures only very rarely arbitrary in nature (Not enough maintenance, shoddy construction, GLORIOUS RUSSIAN PROGRAMMING, etc). With this it's just hoping RNG doesn't mess with your flight . There's nothing to prevent it, just sitting and waiting. -

Everybody loves arbitrary failures with no feedback whatsoever! -
Yes, yes it is... I'm sorry but ProcFairings are absolutely hideous and don't ever shape to the way I want them to shape, even with advanced mode. They do work >_>

Considering The Mun is the moon analog, it makes sense for it to have the "The" before it. But then again you're just being overly pedantic. Kerbal Space Program, AKA KSP, AKA Kerbal. Shortening validity is entirely subjective.

KSP and Linux
Tankman101 replied to Fizwalker's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
If I can't see something, I will forget it within a day. That means CLI prompts are an immediate no-go for me. I NEED the graphical interface or I can't navigate anything. False equivalency, with windows I just go to the manufacturers website and download the drivers. With Mint I had to type in an obscene amount of text to get it to download. And even then the game ran like utter garbage. I'm aware of the structure of Linux. See 1. Also "Some people don't have a GUI" is possibly the worst argument for the lack of a GUI ever. -
That review is so wrong it's hilarious

KSP and Linux
Tankman101 replied to Fizwalker's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
The lack of support to linux and the fact that things don't work out of the box is the main reason why I never want to touch it again. I used Mint for awhile, and while it was streamlined, fast, and user-friendly, when it didn't work it didn't work at all. Closest analogy would be "When it works it's perfect, when it doesn't the world might as well be end of the world." To be fair I was just giving a bit of a poke as well. It's my opinion, but people are free to do what they want For me it was DL KSP, get 2 FPS, look up problem, see tons of command line prompts and proceed to go back to my windows machine. Not to mention getting the OS set up (Drivers, accounts) was possibly the post painful experience ever. -
Oh boy, the scanner argument again! As for ISRU, it increases the viability of nuclear tugs and other purely space ships. That's a big plus!

Does the EULA prohibit multiple installs on the same computer now?
Tankman101 replied to a topic in KSP1 Discussion
Extremely strong evidence at that. -

http://www.gog.com/game/kerbal_space_program Literally no. -
If there were no limits - what would you make?
Tankman101 replied to Foxster's topic in KSP1 Discussion
If there were no limits? I'd build a ringworld. -

I too like jumping through arbitrary hoops just to play a game I like. -
DevNotes: "something rather brilliant from RoverDude"
Tankman101 replied to AbacusWizard's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Plot Twist: Roverdude singlehandedly made 1.1 in a matter of weeks. -
Sadness. Just found another thing that was broke in 1.0
Tankman101 replied to DerpenWolf's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Well we can't run real-world parameters because KSP is a game, and the vessel needs to be focused in order to thrust. 20 minutes is what a nerf would be more like. 200 days is just dumb. -

They still need to be able to complete a burn in a reasonable time. 20 minutes is not a reasonable time.
