  1. I started a new career with... more than 100 unique mods and reduced science with Engineering Tech Tree in a new system, will sure be interesting! Today however I spent time on something else... I couldn't believe nobody else had said anything yet? If anyone wants to beat a record I will throw out my first! Bob Kerman, Equitorial @ 103,783,000 meters.
  2. @Galileo Just started a new career and poking around I see with the new Strategia files that 'Guided Tours 1' begins with a green title and the initial bullet for the effect is blank. The first bullet remains blank across the other 2 levels as well.
  3. At last! I held off starting a game after a tentative Tuesday was mentioned. It was later solidified and confirmed! You guys rock. Now to figure out how to play again.
  4. It is back! Using a nuclear tug with 0.05 TWR and Time Control was only letting me do 5.4x physical where I got 1fps while accelerating. With this I was able to do 30x physical warp at 0.2-0.3FPS. 372 part vessel =)
  5. If using MKS the MKS_LightGlobe becomes orphaned in an Unplaced node, in the ETT configuration it is in both the Unplaced and AdvancedElectrics nodes so the removal from Unplaced puts it where it belongs.
  6. Thanks for the update ev0! Working like a charm now, the error message indicates just 1 duplicate node that seems to have been causing the trouble.
  7. It seems like the advanced debugging will prevent KSP from timing out and crashing but that HETTN also logs errors for possibly infinity. I let it run about 20 minutes before force closing KSP, the log is a little too large to post. Rows 193,067 to 6,728,047 are all HETTN and the output_log is over 500MB. I am not sure it would have ever stopped. [HETTN Debug] Found in box: "advSolarTech" at (-1810,1175) (Tech line bend at (-1532,1210)). Here is an example of what the majority of the messages look like, I did a count for this exact string in Notepad++ and this same debug message exists 58,266 times.
  8. How do you get to HETTN options, I don't see any added buttons with the previous version that lets me start KSP and neither version seems to be creating additional files beyond the dll and license.
  9. Hi ev0, Just a heads up that after updating to the latest release it prevents me from being able to load the Space Center from the Main menu for any saved games or any new games of any type. The logs end with: [LOG 10:53:29.962] [HETTN] New default tech tree path: GameData\ModuleManager.TechTree. [LOG 10:53:29.962] [HETTN] Current tech tree path: GameData\ModuleManager.TechTree. [LOG 10:53:29.989] [HETTN] "Unlocks" nodes were found. Changed TechRequred fields for listed Parts. [LOG 10:53:29.998] [HETTN] Not hiding 0 unique PARTUPGRADE only nodes. KSP stops responding and eventually just crashes. Rolling back to the previous version or removing the mod prevents this from occurring. I am using BOTH ETT and CTT, it seemed like some mod patches to CTT made parts show in ETT where they were not without it.
  10. This pack looks great, I am definitely setting up a game in it! I only noticed a texture issue because Iota is basically the first thing you go explore, but the following have polar pinching with sharp lines in the textures (the rest don't so it could have been forgotten or on the docket for a future change, 20/27 ain't bad!): Argo, Eta, Geminus (very minor), Iota, Hox, Loki, Minona I'm glad to see the interest in this pack following its official release as well as the number of supporters it has helping out. Happy New Year!
  11. Wow, KSP has changed. All these new menu options and settings, 64-bit native support! The thing that really surprised me was how much New Horizons has changed though, I didn't expect much more than texture and terrain changes with the improvement of Kopernicus. I dusted off my old game and can't really see myself continuing it, NH today isn't the same as 15 months ago. I do have over 100 hours of footage though and I might as well finish what I started (in some sense at least)! I may see how successful I am at getting a sept 2015 version of NH and Kopernius running in a 12/26/16 newly modded version of current KSP haha.
  12. I was trying to get this to work yesterday as well, I ended up removing HETTN and manually cleaning out nodes I wasn't using in the ETT cfg. Then I realized I would want an update of the mod and was likely to add more mods that would use parts I had culled out... I edited the 'Eng Tech Tree.cfg' in Notepad++ and just did a replace all of 'hideempty = false' with 'hideempty = true' and that accomplished what I want, getting rid of about 40 empty nodes. I think the issue with HETTN might be due to patches from other mods, looking through some I saw some CTT patches that didn't include Unlocks{}. Just a guess though... @Probus Just a heads up that the 'Nuclear 1_25' node has its title and description swapped.
  13. I haven't seen yellow, but Sonnah starts out blue for me and when I exit the game at the title screen it changes to red.
  14. There we go! Now I have a reason to build a mod list and fire up the new version of KSP, see what all that Unity 5 fuss is about.
  15. At the space center create a new save and then load that save, will fix the status of the facilities the majority of the time. If not just load it again. The max facilities don't actually give you the higher benefits and is only an issue if you need to upgrade a lower facility to a higher one (which you can't do because they are max) so you can ignore the visuals if that is not the case and only save/reload when you need to upgrade.
  16. I've been away a bit, played KSP since 0.23 and clocked over 900 hours... Burned out on it and threw it away and set it on fire- too many issues (not with New Horizons, just KSP in general). 1.0.5 seems better but I really want 1.1 with x64 fixed! Oh well, the game seems smoother than 1.0.4 and it looks like a lot of mods while updating to 1.0.5 have improved. Orbital visuals seem much better, and a sunset at the KSP view? That's better than the old, its either day or its night- and either doesn't reflect what it actually should be. I see New Horizons is on CKAN now and is still being frequently updated, awesome! Keep up the great work Ash.
  17. I used to believe reputation mattered for contracts because I had read it somewhere, I no longer believe that is the case. If I create 2 new saved games and give one 0 reputation and one 100 reputation the only thing that matters is the FlightGlobals that tracks what they have done and where they have been. I have not been able to get the contract system to work as I would expect, I have never had station building/rescue/mining/tourist/asteroid contracts outside of the Sonnah system and it seems most of the exploration or science contracts will not appear for a body until I have been in its SOI. Every so often (if I have visited more locations) I purge the contracts from my persistent file and that appears to make it more likely to get science contracts to new bodies I would previously not get contracts for. As you mentioned, people feel even in stock it does not work like they want because it is possible to NOT get contracts to go visit milestones like Minmus or Duna- simply because of how the contract system works. From my experience in New Horizons it seems like the contract system does not advance well, combined with the randomness that is simply part of the system and what appears to be no reduction or limitation on contracts that are no longer relevant (IE I've orbited every body around Laythe/Sonnah/Lave/Titanus and I still get contracts to rescue a Kerbal from orbit around Kerbin or do a temperature scan on the Mun), leads me to believe the system becomes incapable of generating contracts that make sense for the progression that has happened. If you consider the problematic chances to get advancing contracts like you want as part of the stock game with only 17 bodies... you have experience what happens when you add 19 more
  18. From the image it appears Kopernicus may also be duplicated or not correctly installed.
  19. I have done some more testing into this and think reputation has no effect. Also I am pretty sure the contract system may break easily and halt progression or stop generating new types of contracts. I actually rebuilt my persistent file over the weekend because my contracts were always the same kind and were not advancing (or failing for no reason) and my asteroid generation also appeared to bite the dust. If you are looking for something to try, start a new career game and copy the "ResearchAndDevelopment" and "ProgressTracking" SCENARIO blocks from your main game to the new persistent file. This straightaway gives me more variety for contracts and options for Derso or Laythe with only 25,000 starting funds and 0 reputation. I don't know if the tracking of completed contracts and the bloating of the save file is the issue, just wiping the whole "ContractSystem" SCENARIO block could have the same effect but I haven't tried it.
  20. You can open the CFG files in GameData\BoulderCo\Clouds\ with something like Notepad or another program (I'm using Notepad++) and quickly search for "body = Kerbin". You can then see what files are being used for the main_texture or detail and just see if those textures are also in the GameData\BoulderCo\Clouds\Textures\ location. You should be able to cycle through and check all the textures in your config files in just 1-2 minutes to see if something is actually missing. There are so many piecemeal options to opt into with Astronomer's and Environmental Visual Enhancements that I think it is possible your selections may end up with something missing (especially if doing it manually works fine), but this may not be the case.
  21. I would check the cloud config files that are installed when you use CKAN and see if there are textures being used for Kerbin that are not installed. When the Main Menu loads it has Kerbin in the background and will use clouds in this scene. I have had crashes at this point or no clouds rendered when there is a mismatch between what textures there are and what the config files are attempting to load.
  22. Is it possible to export a CKAN file that would be able to still function after a mod updates? I saw this a few pages back: It sounds like I could strip out the version line for each mod in my file (and also cutout the comma on the preceding line)? I'm not sure if that would hurt or help me more I setup a file last night and in less than 12 hours it was broken because Module Manager did an update that caused a difference between what was available and what was stored in my file. The early comment is about keeping the version for mods already installed, but I'm interested in the file being able to work when mods are being downloaded for a fresh KSP install.
  23. I have not, but I definitely want to build a space casino! I will check it out and see how the "4 one-time progression" contracts work into its addition this far into my game. I'm curious to see how it adjusts to New Horizons as well.
  24. I end up declining most of the contracts. I'm a fan of the ones to accomplish things or get science in situation X Y Z. I get so many like:
