Another go with a rapier: 1683.3 m/s, could not get it to go faster... Brake before I might blow up. My longest U-turn ever ! Long way back...No more electric charge, plane flies like Almost home... After that it was BOOM ! I needs to works on me landingz Better luck next time.

Fiddling with my Rapier 1700 got me 1.724 m/s, for me now this is more a speedchallenge All still in testfase...

LOL ! Looks like my Rapier 1700, haven't reached 1720 m/s yet doh... Cruises at 1700 +/- don't mind the overheating, it doesn't get hotter then this... Maybe it is time for me to use some mods to help me fly around Kerbin, what are you using ?

I understand what you are saying but for a "challenge" it would be nice to do it 100% yourself. I am giving myself a challenge to compete here designing crafts, fly them myself and often fail. Don't mind the failing much cause this game is fun and I learn... But I don't care much in failing competing against people who take a walk while competing. I'm sorry. You did do the single jet engine challenge without (some) mods flying yourself, so you may still go to heaven

Fixed it and then this happened: Almost home . . .9.18 fuel left... Ran out of fuel...But I won't keep giving up on this plane, and I will keep flying without mods. I'll be back...

Turned my plane around like suggested by ExalterDuck and then swaped the turbojet for a rapier. Then this happened... I love this game
